  1. And all this time I thought Boolean expressions had to do with making scary faces.
  2. Thanks for the quick reply. If you don't mind divulging, was this Hamilton in Mercer? Xtors beat me to the punch.
  3. Xtors, I believe we both submitted the same day last week on the 23rd. As I stated earlier, I'm a little concerned as to why we both were told to hold off on the $50 money order until contacted unless they want to make sure everything clears before sending it to the courts, but Hamilton PD has done well by me in the past. I am immeasurably more concerned that different PDs and county courts across NJ can go rogue with the process. Maybe a reach, but I would think the AG would have sent the same instructions on how to proceed to all. NYNJESQ, could you share the source of your info? Has anyone else in Mercer applied? It's only been a week in for me so much too early to fret.
  4. When they told me they would let me know when to bring it, I presumed they wanted to make sure the app was approved by the chief and they checked with references, as well as having the prints and mental health check cleared before taking my money. I'll give them a call if I don't hear anything in a week or so.
  5. Qualified this Monday, turned in application packet to Hamilton Twp. PD Tuesday, reluctantly paid the $40 ransom and did prints today in Pa. ( NJ had nothing until 3 weeks out), forwarded IdentoGo email and copy of receipt to PD as requested. A few minutes later received an email from PD firearms unit thanking me for emailing the info. I'm assuming I bring them a money order when they're ready to send it to the judge.
  6. Permits to purchase were changed a year or so ago to allow family members as references. Nothing on the permit to carry application or the instructions on the NJSP website says they can't be used. If anyone has anything factual could you please post it.
  7. Can someone direct me to the document that says no family for references? I had a family member with the same last name as mine sign. I turned in the application Tuesday and the woman that handles them went over it step by step, even asking me to enlarge the mark in question 16 since I filled it out on the fillable pdf. She said the pre-filled dot was so small (she was correct) she didn't want anyone to think I left it blank. She said nothing about the references. I got the 1.5" photos at AAA and my bank notary did the applications for free. Qualified Monday, fingerprints tomorrow.
  8. All this talk is making me hungry for a PORK ROLL HOAGIE!
  9. Ammoland.com has an article about 2 guys from Jersey getting carry permits.
  10. Fingerprints too!? So should I stop getting chemical peels at the salon?
  11. I understand that you want things to work out with this instructor, perhaps because of the time and money already invested. However, at this point it seems he is unwilling to use, or (worse yet) unaware of, the HQC2 for a 5 shot. Depending on your discussion with him you might be better served going elsewhere. Besides, 72 isn't ancient and my son recently got a few p2ps in 9 business days. At least you have the benefit of knowing what to expect, and definitely get a better holster to use when you get your handgun permit.
  12. My 96A1 has the same wear as the above after about 1700 rounds. I'm pretty sure your scratches are not normal wear and are due to the burrs surrounding the drilled hole. I am assuming you have filed it smooth, if not, the new barrel will get scratched too. Hope you get the new barrel soon.
  13. I have a couple belts from thirty dollar gun belt. Stiff, 1 1/2" and can get them a few dollars cheaper on clearance. Their website gives instructions for proper sizing. I have a Crossbreed MiniTuck for my Shield 45, and a iwb holster for my 642 from Braid' S. Wear both at 3:30, obviously only around the property. Crossbreed takes longer to get used to, but both are comfortable. Sometimes use a Remora with the 642 for pocket carry.
  14. John Adams by David McCullough Unintended Consequences by John Ross The Bible, for all seasons
  15. Awww, you're just pulling my leg, that ain't gonna fit. I've never seen a form that asked for complexion, wouldn't that be covered by race? What should an old, but dashing, American of Italian descent put? I plan to start my app soon.
  16. I was looking over SP642 and have a question. What do they mean by 'complexion'? Pock-marked, weathered, clear, like a baby's butt? I already figured out race means foot or car, I'm going with foot.
  17. Yep, looks like it was done on a Smith Corona typewriter. Also info is contrary to what is posted on NJSP website. What a shame, since it's closer to how it should be (although still too restrictive).
  18. But still, aren't you worried about getting your lungs blown out by a large caliber 9mm?
  19. Thanks for the info voyager9, but that's what I'm afraid of. Lower courts could give a flip about Bruen if there are no judicial consequences in doing so.
  20. I'm confused (a regular occurrence). Does this mean that Murphy stops ccw in it's tracks by adding all kinds of restrictions, fees, training requirements, sensitive areas, etc. regardless of what Thomas alluded to not doing those things? Does this mean any lawsuits regarding such have to wait to be heard by SCOTUS? Does this mean that at my current age of 65 I may never be able to ccw in NJ?
  21. I too stand humbled before you. Not only did I think they would punt, but that if a ruling was issued against NYC it would not be nearly as broad as what I've read so far (there's a lot to digest).
  22. I'm thinking most, if not all, of the above bills are unconstitutional, but when has that ever stopped them.
  23. JohnnyB, just checked his facebook page. Have to say, he keeps himself in good shape despite all those dinners/luncheons he attends.
  24. He stole the election, now he's trying to add to his creds for his 2024 presidential run. What evil people he and his cohorts are.
  25. They didn't do it when they had control. I thought they might have pretended to push it as a compromise this time around since they know it has a snowball's chance, but they don't even care enough to pretend in going through the motions.
