  1. I wont be reupping my PTC. I’ve already paid the money and satisfied all those requirements, I wont pay another $435 to GFH (holster draw $235 + nj ccw $200) or $300 to weshoot. Already did the hq2, already did the use of force…. It’s a money grab all around. EDIT: Forgot the $200 to the NJSP.
  2. Those troopers sound like good people. Congrats on your permit
  3. I didn’t ask for specific questions as I trusted their answers, but from what they told me freely, the questions revolved around my moral character. Essentially, whether they believed me to be somebody responsible enough to carry a handgun.
  4. RadioGunner is correct here. I used family and they all received a follow up call by my LPD.
  5. No idea, however my prints were done on Sat July 16th. I’m far from knowledgeable in the area, but I would think that the PD received them by at least Monday, which is why I estimated the application completion to be 7/18. My PD had a new Chief promoted during that timeframe, so that is what I feel is the reason for the delay. Howell has been great in the past with everything.
  6. Application completed 7/18 Just got off the phone with Howell PD to check on the status and was told “it’s being processed” and they can’t tell me how long it’s going to take.
  7. Packet submitted 7/13, prints 7/16, and nothing but crickets since. I’ll be sure to let everyone know if/when I hear anything.
  8. Congratulations! How did they inform you, and did they send anything to your 3 endorsements? Happy for you, keep us updated please!
  9. It doesn’t say employer’s phone number or employer’s email. On my application, and assuming yours too, it simply says “phone number” and “email address.” That said, I put my information down.
  10. Packet submitted, prints done this past Saturday in PA. What should I expect next? I’ve been checking IdentoGo several times a day but still see the “enrollment received.”
  11. I wonder how long it’ll take until the cost of exercising our 2nd Amendment right is challenged in court for creating a financial hardship. Essentially limiting the right to only those of financial means is clearly unconstitutional. I suppose the State is off the hook for now since they haven’t officially supported the avenue of attaining a NJ CCW, but it’s something that I hope attorneys are planning to keep an eye on. What some of these ranges are pricing their quals at is prohibitive. GFH includes the photos and notary which, in my humble opinion, is classy and should be provided by more places.

  13. 30,000 gun related deaths per year, or 0.0009% of the population. • 65% of those deaths are by suicide, which would never be prevented by gun laws. • 15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified. • 17% are through criminal activity, gang and drug related or mentally ill persons – better known as gun violence. • 3% are accidental discharge deaths. So technically, "gun violence" is not 30,000 annually, but drops to 5,100. ——————- 710,000 people die per year from heart disease. 200,000+ people die each year from preventable medical errors. 40,000+ die from a drug overdose 36,000 people die per year from the flu 34,000 people die per year in traffic fatalities 5,100 people die per year due to gun violence —————-
