  1. None of the lockbox/speed vaults are going to be theft proof. The perp can just rip the box off your night stand and break into it later. They are very good against tiny hands and the fast access is great. The electronic locks have a delay and can lock you out if you enter the wrong combo too many times. I recommend the button style that 67gtonut posted. You can reset it very quickly and it's pretty reliable. That being said, a quality safe if your best defense against theft.
  2. Thanks guys! I'll be giving them a call!
  3. Hey guys, My Wife has a colt 1908 in need of repair. Allegedly, the firearm can discharge by itself. We called Colt and they stated there was a recall on it and asked us to send it in. Then they sent it back saying they no longer service those hand guns. We never fired it, it was inherited. So I'd like a good gun smith to take a look and repair what ever the issue is. Just don't know where to go. I live in South Jersey but I'd be willing to drive for a reliable shop. Any suggestions? Thanks,
  4. Since I've received my impulse buy (after about a week and a half for NICS) I can officially say welcome to the club!
  5. I'm thinking about getting a second job to pay for this hobby! I'm happy that Bulkammo had .223 in stock. I'm sad for what I had to pay for it! Still, not complaining. Just tough pills for a "hobby". It will be sometime before I get some optics...
  6. No, you're right. I'm going down today to fill out paper work and will probably take it home next week sometime!
  7. Yeah, Clearly a markup but supply and demand! I'll regret it for a month while it's still on my credit card statement but I'm sure I'll be happy after that! Thanks guys! Now to tell the wife!
  8. Hey guys, I just did something a little out of character. Bought an AR without a lick of research. My local shop just called and let me know they got in 8 ARs today. $1200 for an SRC NY which I immediately agreed to. I didn't even know who made them until about 5 minutes ago. I "pulled the trigger" since they've been so scarce and I didn't know when I was going to get another chance. Did I make a mistake? I paid for over the phone and haven't even seen it! I'll hopefully get it today or tomorrow. My wife doesn't even know yet!!! lol Let me know what you guys think.
  9. Hagues in Deptford has a bunch of Sig in stock including 1911's. I was just there a few days ago. You can try a few out there first. If you're looking for another brand then I doubt they'll have it there. I don't think I saw one > $1500 but I wasn't looking that closely.
  10. There's a lot of sense to this. I might be back to adding a new caliber. I've always wanted a .357! Why deny myself now?
  11. Hey Blueline, I sent you a Message. Thanks for the input guys!
  12. Thanks for the feedback guys! Pizza Bob, I'm really digging those 625s. The Model of 1988 in particular. I'm on the fence on what barrel size I would get but that 5" looks sweet. Is it true the revolvers are easier to maintain or that just crap? I'm not opposed to another Semi-Auto like the ones blksheep suggested but there's some allure of owning a revolver. Can't explain it.
  13. Hey guys, I'm a new member and posting my first question! I have a spare Handgun permit and I'm looking to put it to good use. I'm looking for suggestions on what I should get and who better to ask then this great forum? I currently have a Sig Target 1911 and a High Standard .22 My wife has a Sig P229 9mm and a Colt 1908. So currently, I have to stock 4 different calibers of ammo when I want to shoot all four pistols. I was considering getting a .357 but that would be yet a 5th type of ammo (not even including rifles and shotguns). I'm thinking about getting another handgun that shoots .45 ACP since I'm not a huge fan of 9mm and have no "need" for another .22. Any suggestions? I hear good things about the S&W 625. Budget is under 1K. Use is for HD Backup and fun Thanks in advance! David
