  1. If your budget is not too tight I would suggest one that already supports the 802.11ac standard - Netgear AC175, Apple's latest AirPort Extreme, etc.
  2. Yes, it definitely was a Glock 19.
  3. I just may take you up on that offer. If gleninjersey survived a trip to the range with you maybe it won't be that bad It seems the 19 is the most popular one. I don't consider my hands to be large but when I tried it my pinky was almost completely off the grip. For me it would have to be 17 or 34.
  4. I have to admit I am not much of a Glock fan. For the longest time I've been saying I'd never own a Glock. After recently shooting one it sparked my interest. I'm still a long way away from buying one (if ever) but I would like to understand what options are out there. From my limited reading it seems the G17 was the first Glock pistol supposedly named after a 17-point requirement it was designed to meet.(it also happens to have a 17-round mag - go figure) So a smaller, 15-round G17 would be - G15 G19 ??? Is a G34 twice as good as G17 ? I'm not even talking about other caliber sizes. Is there any reason to this madness ? Disclaimer: No, no - not trying to start another heated love/hate discussion. Just curious if anyone is aware of any logic behind it.

    M&P CORE = love

Yes, they do - 4.25 to be precise.

    Kovalchuk.

Seems a win/win for Kovalchuk and the Devils organization (financially at least) It probably sucks for the NJ fans but it doesn't bother me LGR.
  7. The S&W website has a list of compatible sights - I believe there are 6 of them.
  8. Yup, it is in fact instant. I'm a believer now that I experienced it. I gotta say the store was a mad house before closing.
  9. I'm curious whether anyone has had the honor to experience the "new" NICS. I realize it's only been a few hours. I'll be stopping by after work and hope there won't be any surprises. Apologies for the redundancy in my title but I think we've been conditioned to not take it literally.
  10. My experience was also similar. No acknowledgement of me entering the store, blank stare, etc. I think the place is OK if you know exactly what you want and they have it in store. I would not call it novice-friendly.
  11. My experience with Heritage/Easton has also been good. One thing that happened to me a few weeks ago - when I got there (mid-day) the range was closed. Nobody knew when it would reopen and I was told to always call before going there. Not sure if they had another accident - I hope not. So next time I called and asked if the range was opened. Of course it's open, why do you ask ? Duh !! It's about $20 per 50. I bought some earlier today along with other items but don't have the receipt.
  12. I'm basically in the same situation as you Howard but I let the LGS talk me into waiting till Monday. I just hope I won't regret it.
  13. I respect that. I was also concerned when I learned out about the lock and potential issues. However, didn't have any luck finding a GP100 (in 357). The more I was researching the more I realized that the "issue" is very rare and highly unlikely, not to mention I've always wanted a S&W revolver. Needless to say I am now awaiting my 586
  14. Within the last 2 weeks at Sportsman's Rendezvous. Don't recall the price.
  15. I've been trying to find a GP100 for a while now. Finally managed to spot one but then realized it was a 327 and decided against it. FYI, a S&W 686+ also holds 7 rounds (357/.38) and they seem to be easier to find than Rugers nowadays.
  16. Yesterday I rented a P30 and after 3 rounds I was saying WTF ?! Then I realized it had the LEM trigger. Definitely not my cup of tea. I have never shot a Glock but the M&P which so many people complain about felt fine to me. You may also want to look at Walther P99 or PPQ. The trigger is supposedly one of the best out there with great ergo.
  17. No carry for me. That's good to know - thanks for the feedback.
  18. On guns with blued finish from the manufacturer - what can on expect for durability ? From what i have read a blued gun will eventually show signs of wear. Is it just a question of time ? Can regular cleaning significantly impact the finish ?
  19. Couldn't agree more. Never heard BadCo singing - seven-gun in my hand ...
  20. Earlier today I overheard one of the sales associates at Heritage Guild explaining to a customer: "You can buy a handgun without the permit - you just can't take it home without one"
  21. I've never seen a gun at Effingers last more than 2 days. BTW, they did have a GP100 last week - would have gotten it but it was blued. Thanks, I'll give them a try .
  22. S&W 686 Seems like everywhere I ask about it I get the "good luck with that" look.
  23. Very nice collection. What kind of grip is it ? Never seen anything like it.
  24. Good luck and enjoy your freedom.
