I've paid their price to get 1-2 lbs. online savings are great but the hazmat and shipping kill that if not purchasing large qty. the 5lb I got from Cabelas still came out to $28/lb. The most u save is around 0.01 per round in powder cost.

Pistol calibers are good for up-close defense. For apocalyptic scenarios you will also need rifle rounds. Hunting is much easier with a rifle. To answer your question, your best bet is to have a cache of ammo components and a loading press, rather than finished rounds. You can reuse brass and even powder from rounds which you can not use. If you have 1k of 9mm, 40 and 45, you are in position to scrounge these widely available calibers. If you also have 5.56 and 30-06, you have the most popular rifle rounds as well. The only round I would stockpile in larger qty is 22lr since it is not reloadable and is arguably the most versatile survival round. Best survival action is to have a group of like minded and prepared neighbors/families. A loner can not carry enough ammo to overcome anarchy.

install a few decapping dies in a progressive press with case feeder - whole job should take about 12hrs. don't forget to lube and check the pins every hour or so

Semi-auto rounds are not crimped in the old sense of the word. It as very possible for a bullet to be pushed deeper into the case, just by dropping it. If ap powder like TG is used, there is a lot of empty space in the case. FMJ heads are harder and can slip easier. Freedom usually loads their rounds week [subsonic], to keep the price down. I doubt that you will do any damage with this round but it is much wiser to throw it away.
