    Looking for a Range
  1. I've heard that story. My problem is where can I buy grass seed now? Don't think the big box stores have gotten their shipments delivered yet.
  2. And I think I'm going to include my Senator. Already sent her an email about S993, but a follow-up call can't hurt that much.
  3. Sorry, I've only been around for a year. My thoughts were with other discussions about "trigger" modifications that I remember seeing elsewhere. I'll retract my question.
  4. However, what about modifications with after market parts. By not using OEM parts to repair a lawyer could argue it's been defaced even if the modifications make it safer, more reliable, or easier to use?
  5. I was told no, but that was over 40 years ago. I took it off the carage wall 20 years ago. Now I'm not sure where I put it, haven't looked for it since. Took 20 minutes of oil and pumping to get it to half work. Wasn't worth the effort. You included the part about a FOID card. Mine is less than a year old. Guess it's time to call Evan Nappen.
  6. Not that I know that much, but looking for a pistol I rented the 27 and experienced the same thing. Even had a stove pipe from the 19, BUT my thumb told me that it was in the wrong place. Although you're not asking about the 26 I just christened mine today and had a couple failures to load with a full mag. I've deduced that with the size of my hand I noticed I didn't rack the slide properly to chamber the round. My first pistol is the 19. And I know I'm going to get it wrong, but the stories I remember is the first design of the gen 4's did have problems that were associated with recoil spring and even for a long time after they were changed there were a decent supply of the originals were in the dealer's stock so the old and new springs were being sold. You could have been buying a new gun from old stock. So with two new gen 4's and only 150 rounds in my own firearms I'm looking forward to quite a few years of enjoyment. The 19 isn't a monster size, fits my hand nicely, and it seems to work the way it's supposed to and it's not even broken in. BTW, the reason for my choices are concealed carry (plan on moving out of NJ) and, low maintenance learning curve (same manufacturer, same caliber).
  7. Guess being in New Jersey makes us part of a minority. Thanks for the answer. I'm so new at this a sneeze will get me in trouble, or so it seems.
  8. Sl0818 I'm going through a change of address on my fid card , the department has sent out the letters to my References and all that good stuff , my question is would I have to get finger printed onces again and pay the 60 something dollars to ? When I received my first FID last month I had a short conversation with the clerk in my police department. I remember her saying that for the next time I apply for P2P I would have to go through the entire process except for the fingerprints since they were done digitally. She even gave me hope that some other steps could be omitted if there wasn't too long before the next time. I distinctly remember her saying that if someone hadn't had any activity in like 20 years, no P2P, they had to go through the entire process, start to finish, including fingerprints. Change of Address with a twist question. I'm too new at this and I haven't figured out the seach so if this isn't the correct place please tell me where to go. I'm hoping to get out of NJ within the next couple of years. I think I remember the police clerk say that the number will follow me forever, so it can't change. Or can it, when moving to another state? Should Sweeny's bill get signed to incorporate the FID number onto the driver's license; another state won't issue a new driver's license, without surrendering the old license. Or, am I confusing the FID to be state assigned Firearm number instead of Federal?

  10. I'm in step with you John. (Hope you don't mind me cutting some of your quote for space) I copied out some more of the statute: 41:3-1. False swearing, affirmation of declaration; perjury If any person shall willfully and corruptly swear, affirm or declare falsely, in or by any oath, affirmation, declaration or affidavit, required to be made or taken by any statute of this state, or necessary or proper to be made, taken or used in any court of this state, or for any lawful purpose whatever, such person shall be deemed guilty of perjury and punished accordingly. and, 41:3-2. Subornation of oaths, affirmations or affidavits made or taken out of state If any oath, affirmation or affidavit made or taken under authority of section 41:2-17 of this title, or any material part thereof, shall be untrue, any person who shall use or offer the same for any purpose whatever, knowing the same to be untrue, shall be guilty of a high misdemeanor, and shall upon conviction thereof suffer the same punishment as if convicted of subornation of perjury, and shall be subject to the same disabilities. Hope you still have the message so it can be forwarded, or copied, to the Justice Department. They won't be taking any action, but there are other parts of the statute that applies to those that administer the oath. Some things need a lawyer to translate.
  11. Excellent posting! Thank you for keeping it under cover for two years so it would appear at the top of the topic listing so I could find it. Depressed that others before have not had the opportunity to read before now. I have finally woken up to assume my "social responsibility" to take an active role. Over the last few years I have been asking the same questions and have finally taken the steps to join a minority group. Your article is an inspiration for me. Over the past few weeks I've initiated more contact with politicians than I've had in the last 30 years. I would disagree about forgetting the politicians. Let them have a copy of this so they won't miss reading it on the Opinion page of their local newspaper. Thank you,
  12. OK, I'll take on the challenge. This is what I expect: New Jersey State Constitution ARTICLE I RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES 1. All persons are by nature free and independent, and have certain natural and unalienable rights, among which are those of enjoying and defending life and liberty, of acquiring, possessing, and protecting property, and of pursuing and obtaining safety and happiness. Officials of the government do Oaths and Affidavits 41:1-1. Oath of allegiance; form Every person who is or shall be required by law to give assurance of fidelity and attachment to the Government of this State shall take the following oath of allegiance: "I, , do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of New Jersey, and that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same and to the Governments established in the United States and in this State, under the authority of the people So help me God." And, upon evidence of the Oath of allegiance not being taken seriously then: 41:3-1. False swearing, affirmation of declaration; perjury If any person shall willfully and corruptly swear, affirm or declare falsely, in or by any oath, affirmation, declaration or affidavit, required to be made or taken by any statute of this state, or necessary or proper to be made, taken or used in any court of this state, or for any lawful purpose whatever, such person shall be deemed guilty of perjury and punished accordingly. or, 41:3-2. Whether I like the rules or not is not really the question, but I'm a rules player. I'm not a lawyer, but the best person to fight a lawyer is another lawyer. When the opposition is securely entrenched in their positions how can we support the legislators that take their oath of office seriously? Of course people like free stuff, I'm just trying how to figure out how to keep the stuff that I worked hard to get free from the government. No, I don't think Jersey is the center of stupidity, a barrel of liars maybe but not stupidity.. Before becoming governor didn't Christie have a fairly good success rate of prosecuting corrupt politicians? Thank you for answering my question. Think I'll copy this post for an email to Christie, and my representatives. Maybe I'll even add the three named senators if they think they are fulfilling their Oath of Office. And, I saw where there is a group of representatives that have been submitting a bill year after year which seems to me what we should be pushing the legislature to pass -- S707 The "New Jersey Right to Home Defense Law." and A1906 The "New Jersey Right to Home Defense Law." Maybe, just maybe if instead of looking like "gun-nuts" focusing on the tools to accomplish the task we focus on the task of "protecting our families and possessions". Now I need to poke around to see if someone has proposed something like a "stand your ground" bill. Just trying to keep focused on the forest and not the trees. Now I'm really going to be told where to go.
  13. There have been quite a few postings about trying different ideas. Ever since Friday when it was reported that one of a possible three senators said on an open mike that what they really wanted to do was confiscate I've been entertaining the idea of who to contact about questioning their violating their oath of office to uphold the Constitution. Think I heard that a Sheriff Mack, out west somewhere, successfully sued the Federal Government on a matter about guns. I remember some of the details because the NRA didn't take a position on the 2nd Amendment but on the 10th. Therefore, instead of nj.com putting up a headline of these remarks upsetting pro-gun people would there be a way to get general support to upset all of the people that are against corrupt politicians? Are statements like that evidence of a tyrannical government? Personally, I was going to give a call the AG's office to ask which department to speak to, but ran out of their office time (still have to earn money). But, my FID card is less than 30 days old, and I'm still waiting for my first NICS to clear so yes I'm concerned about sticking my nose in somewhere that would hurt the cause. OK, this is a little off topic so please be kind when you tell me where to go. Just asking.
  14. Rather than discuss may I suggest these two websites: http://handgunlaw.us/ http://www.usacarry.com/ http://amgoa.org/ (just found this one from another forum) Information needs to be accurate and up-to-date. I'm sure there are other resources, but with each state having it's own set of rules I'm wondering if to comply one would need to stop ON the state line (front tires in one state, the rear ones in the other). Of course this probably applies only to concealed carry. There may be a firearms association in the state that you are ending up in, or going through, that might have an informational website with up-to-date information. I'm hoping to go shooting with my brother-in-law in Ohio. So I have found a website there, http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/, that I'm researching. In these forums I've read about members calling the AG office of the states they are planning to be in. Probably nothing to hang your hat on unless you note when and who you received the information from. Then at least you could supena them at your trial to show the jury you tried. But, I need to add a disclaimer that I'm still waiting for the NIC check for my first handgun. I haven't gotten a lot of sleep lately reading as much as I can to avoid being in the pokey for the rest of my life.
  15. Think that with what is being proposed for the new renewable FID tying that to a reciprocal CCL with other states? I'm too new at this to get the wording right. Think some states call it "shall carry"? Cause right now I'm considering getting a Florida non-resident Florida CCL.
