  1. I gotta say I disagree with the boat anchor comment. The 14.7 spr is the best balanced piston I ever held. I think ldub builds a fine weapon. If you want a piston AR I think you would be hard pressed to find a better option. That said a DI BCM or DD is a great product. So you need to really decide what you want. I can get 2 Moa with 77gr. But the rifle is a battle rifle not a precision rifle. The 20k life expectancy means more to me with a battle rifle then it's 1 or 2 Moa at 100yds. Again. Decide what you want.
  2. Chris, I have the exact same issue. So I am eager to learn the outcome as well.
  3. bhunted, What REPR did you get?
  4. So you like viperskins eh?
  5. Polak, Looks great, I actually have almost the same thing. did that start as an AAC model? or what? I lucked into a Remmy 5R and built basically what you have. Its a tack driver with 168 smk.
  6. Few thoughts here, since I had owned and have shot suppressed. Ty is correct. always protect. sub sonic loads will allow you to not wear protection as behind the rifle is more quite then say off to one side or even farther behind. I would still wear ear pro thou with all suppressed shots. And eye pro for sure, increased blow back into the upper is crazy with dirty cheap ammo. When it comes to gas port and muzzle rise and all this, loads also play a large part in this as well. My sr15e3 is one of the softest shooting AR pattern rifles I have ever shot, but if I didn't feed it 556 XM loads for the first 200 or so rounds it never would cycle. Meaning those shits had to be hot to cycle the reduced gas port that KAC uses in their barrels. This is one of the reasons I also enjoy BCM barrels. They use a slightly smaller gas hole then most. Remember the easiest way to cycle everything under the sun, is to have a monster gas port, the negative, with decent charged loads they will have significant muzzle flip.
  7. My iPad has lost its mind... Try this one instead. Although,I am enjoying that coffee maker. http://www.littlecrowgunworks.com/wft.html
  8. I moved to this, it's been the fastest most accurate I have used. https://www.bigcatcoffees.com/store_docs/B150_direct_plumb_kit_install.pdf
  9. This I have shot there, great place for distance shooting, the 600 ( now 700) is a ton of fun. As stated, if your intent is just 100yrds, then the drive is not worth it. But a super clean, and fantastic layout for sure. I love that they hang steel if you just want to ring something at different distances, without taking the time to hang 600 yrd targets.
  10. I am not sure of this imaginary "loop hole" the lefty's talk about. I have lived in TN, as well as PA and NJ, I have worked for dealers in TN and PA, and at many gun shows, for many years. In states that do not require FFL interaction to transfer a Handgun (TN) people can indeed buy and sell hand guns with out the use of FFL. These indeed are pre owned not new firearms. In states that require you to use an FFL to transfer handguns (PA) the FTF sale of said handguns is illegal, and in turn not done without the interaction of an FFL. Trust me, as an FFL we were often asked to perform said PICS check for individuals looking to sell their personal product to another individual. This whole "Loop Hole" thing would have to be explained to be, as again. I think its media hype once again ignorantly portraying false info. As for, why no GS in NJ. Probably because, NJ hates us! LOL And I should state, this is all related to Handguns, As for long guns, it is a less restricted process.
  11. I think the key sticking point for me on this is, They have NJ stores, are they franchise? or one owner? If a single owner doesn't understand that his store is 10 mins from NJ, and he will get consistent NJ customers, then he is lost. How could you be so ignorant. if it's a franchise, then maybe the PA owner just doesn't care about it. If they are indeed related to the NJ stores -why can't they just say, sure you can handle this all day long, you wanna buy? give us money, then go to our store in NJ, do your nics, and pick up your NJ legal pistol? This is essentially what is done when someone buys on gunbroker, or the like. This seems like a huge miss for the store. I also hate the "ignorant" rule making, I feel it's a responsibility of a store, so close to a border of another state, to know those laws and educate correctly a potential customer. As stated, it is not illegal to own the firearm, only the magazine. I HATE the NJ gun laws, but a business cannot loose site of fact, and fact is, NJ has a VERY high average income bracket comparatively to many other states. This should relate to more potential discretionary income...in english- More sales! I get the whole, communist state, and PA is free and all, but really, it's a business, get over it.
  12. How have shotgun powders been lately? I use clays in my 45acp loads. bout the smoothest I have ever shot.
  13. +1 I was gonna say, if you kept the stag, maybe look at the DD rail with the cut away for the A2 front sight. Not sure how it would work with a railed gas block, but was wondering. Also, I could not agree more with HE on the back up gun. I have been wanting this for a long time. I got caught up with high end rifles, and lost touch with reality. I need to sell off some of the top tier stuff, and get me a few bcm 14.5 work horses. Lastly, my personal fav is the 18" barrel for the spr. If I get a vote.. Hehe
  14. In your price range, a solid look at a M1 Socom is worth it. PTR is very cool as well. The SCAR would probably be my pick, but I don't think your into one for $2000. I own an LWRC REPR, and like it a lot. But if given a reset button, I might go SCAR. I don't follow the 7.62/5.56 thing Checko, educate me.
  15. You will dig it, I have a bunch of their stuff. for the money they are really hard to beat. I don't use much under the PST line. but PST and HD are GTG.
  16. good folks or not, I would listen to Jack, you don't need an incorrect job done by someone who means well, but doesn't have experience. Please understand, I have no experience with Bangers, and they might know exactly what they are doing. But I would at least vet that before you let someone at your rifle. The best intensions don't always lead to the best job done. Just my .02
  17. Checko nailed it. I own one as well. It's a tank. But I went with it as I really felt it will do everything forever. I could probably wedge it and lift my car to change a tire... Prolly not, but you get the idea.
  18. I'm in. Some 8 some 10 and maybe a 12. are you doing a hole for mounting?
  19. Um...fox... He never said to boycott larue. Easy now big guy, life is good. Especially since your sig says you live in PA...
  20. I have an old tumbler and use a 50/50 Walnut and Cobb mix. Never an issue with mess. Run it in a well ventilated area for obvious reasons. The media I store and dump in a large plastic storage box. It is actually quite clean. and I add a bit of polish in the media and those babies look like brand new brass...
  21. Thanks Dan, this is exactly what I was trying to say. This is the problem I have with the whole deal. And I also agree with all of you. I can do all of the PA. Things, and they are great ideas. I just feel like we shouldn't have to do all this shit, for something that isn't illegal to own in the first place.
  22. I don't buy from dicks. And please explain the correct people to be angry with. Actually, I don't care. You seem to miss my point.
  23. Good point vlad. I agree it might happen. Or I might use someone else's stuff that will ship to NJ.
