  1. The current PCH fee is already being challenged in the case that challenges many parts of the carry killer bill
  2. This crap will just continue over and over because the politicians running (ruining) NJ face no consequences for their unconstitutional actions.
  3. I'll take the welder if a donation to FPC is satisfactory. Let me know when you'll be around
  4. It depends on the division you plan to shoot. Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP) allows just about anything except add-on muzzle brakes so long as the gun fits in the box and is within the weight limit. An SP-01 with a Cajun kit is fine so long as you haven't added brass grips - that would make it too heavy. If you have a red dot, it would be Carry Optics (CO) division which has the same modification rules as ESP but must have a slide mounted RDS. I run an SP-01 Shadow in CO.
  5. When you renew, you must have done the CCARE qual and use of force class within the previous 2 years. Foe anyone that got their permit before CCARE was published and had to do it again, the certificate they got on re-qual should still be good for the renewal as their permit will expire before the 2 years is up. Ha ha ha ha ha - New Jersey says NO! There are quite a lot of us that are running quals for less than the premium charged by the luxury ranges. Shop around. Any NRA or USCCA instructor's signature is sufficient.
  6. Email them at [email protected] Make sure you explain that you have already tried to resolve the issue through your PD, otherwise they will tell you that as they were not the entity that processed your application, it is not their problem. NB. They do not take phone calls. Our tax dollars at work!
  7. Try the FIU at NJSP then. They own the FARS system.
  8. Call your PD and ask them to help.
  9. Why not just get a P-01? It's the same gun but with a rail for a light.
  10. The sign-up page for this Sunday's match is here: https://practiscore.com/phillipsburg-idpa-february-2024-sunday/register
  11. This is New Jersey government you are talking about. There has never been any joined-up-thinking here. The process says check the mental health records going back 10 years for an initial application, and renewals are to be treated just like initial applications. It doesn't matter to them that you lived in NY 8-10 years ago and they got those records before. They have to get them again - you know, just in case 8-10 year old history changed since they last got a copy of those records. It required dragging them kicking and screaming to accept that being fingerprinted every time you applied for a PCH was pointless. You know, fingerprints that they use to identify you because everybody's are unique and unchanging have to be taken again, just in case they changed.
  12. I used to be like you, cleaning after just about every range trip. I don't do that any more. I have handguns with over 1000 rounds through them since they were last cleaned. I just add oil as needed. I don't shoot rifle nearly as often as handgun and I can't remember when I last cleaned one. Everything gets wiped down with a silicone infused cloth before going back in the safe. One of my 1911's was slowing down during a match last month. Being cold didn't help. I added oil and it returned to normal function. Defensive guns get more diligent care.
  13. Is this for handgun? Most people assume rifle when talking about long range.
  14. LPL shows how to do it... https://youtu.be/c2DcfJLquOk?si=53MSrSzGOsctgEAC
  15. That's just carbon build up. Not a big deal. It is one of the consequences of a DI system. A tool like this makes cleaning it much easier. https://www.amazon.com/CAT-Outdoors-Scraping-Scraper-Cleaning/dp/B09QY26MKS
  16. Carrying and transporting are not the same thing.
  17. This is why I went to the effort to have every handgun I own added to my court order.
  18. A PCH does not allow you to open carry so the guy was in the wrong. It does seem the response was over the top too. If you were up to no good, would you really open carry while you did your grocery shopping? Where did this report come from?
  19. Have you shot any of the slim Glocks? The felt recoil impulse is rather different as there is much less surface area for your hand to mate with. Personally, I don't like them. That may be exacerbated by the fact I have pretty large hands and the double stack Glocks fit me well. To give you an idea of my hand size, I can hit the mag release and slide stop with my thumb without moving my grip at all.
  20. Only if you are a carry permit holder do you have a duty to inform even if only transporting. If you don't have a carry permit, the old rules apply and there is no duty to inform. You should answer honestly if asked if there are guns in the vehicle, however.

    Gone South

Ghost loading isn't an issue. The statute restricts the number of shells the magazine can hold. It is silent on how many can be sitting on the lifter.
  22. A G17 slide will not work on a G19 frame. You need a G47 or G49 slide to make it work on G19 frame - the G49 is essentially what you would be creating by putting a G17 length slide/barrel on a G19 sized frame. It is the length of the recoil systems that needs to match for it to work.
  23. The only reliable way to do this would be to do a standalone backup of the 2 partitions, resize them while still in standalone mode, then restore from the backup media. To be safe, I would take a backup of all your partitions just in case anything goes wrong with modifying the partition table.
