  1. Troop C, Hamilton (Mercer Co). Co-worker decided to torment me by saying the 60 days start today/tomorrow since my application packet has been incomplete without a copy of my DL in it until today. My CCN is Aug 2, because I dropped my application off the evening of Aug 1.
  2. NJSP Barracks responded to my email today. Said he needed a copy of my DL, which I immediately emailed back. Also said they have not gotten a response from the request for my Mental Health Background, which they submitted on August 3rd. He said he will make a second request today. No further information given. I will start to draft an email to the ANJRPC Task Force today. Edit to add: I have lived at the same address well over ten years, so the MH should be fast/easy. I've also obtained pistol purchase permits earlier this year. I'm not positive, but don't the run mental health for that also?
  3. I've switched from Stihl to Echo. I had a Stihl chainsaw and trimmer, they both would fight me every time I wanted to use them. Granted the saw did not get used on a regular basis, the trimmer was used weekly. They'd also fight me trying to restart them while still hot; for example after re-stringing the head or adjusting chain tension. My Echo products will start on the third pull after sitting, even over the winter. Restarting while hot, they typically start on the first pull.
  4. I'd not heard of that domain before, did a quick search and see it's based in Germany. The IP Address is from there as well. Maybe the NJSP server did block it based on that? I'd try sending from one of your other accounts, or try to call them. Edit to add.... did you include your case number as well? I had that in the subject line of the email. Probably not required, but if it makes it easier for them to look me up, that much better.
  5. I think you meant to respond to @nooch450 I agree, the NJSP.org server could be blocking the email domain that he is using. I have a private domain name which I use, gmail likes to block emails from that domain from time to time.
  6. I'm going to give Hamilton a day or two to respond before I email the Strike Force. At this immediate point in time, I think an email to them would be premature, without the response or lack of one, from Hamilton being included.
  7. 8/1 1800hrs, drop off packet to NJSP Barracks, Hamilton, Mercer Co. Troopers were polite but not familiar with the process. FIU gone for the day. 8/2 0915hrs, called Barracks' FIU to get Case number and Identogo Service Code since Troopers on 8/1 had no clue what I was talking about. Trooper confirmed my packet was complete. Trooper was polite, but could not or would not give me answers to the process or timeline beside he does his thing then sends it to Trenton. 8/6 1100hrs, fingerprints completed. Crickets.... references not contacted. 10/6 1155hrs, called Barracks, computer hung up on me. 1156hrs, called again, sent to FIU Sgt's VM. Left message. 10/6 1400hrs, sent email to NJSP HQ FIU. 10/6 1540hrs (as I type this post), email response from Trenton saying they have no record of my application. Provided me an email address to use to contact the Barracks.

I believe that 20" is if you lay them down flat and measure across the top. Since they offer free returns and exchanges, you could also order two sizes and return/exchange the size that doesn't fit. They have excellent customer service. They have had some supply issues, even before the lockdowns. One of the cut & sew plants they use was destroyed from a tornado so they had to find other plants.

  11. I put a Console Vault in my truck. Not cheap, but's it's heavy duty, well built, lifetime warranty & American Made. Also completely out of sight. Plenty of room to put other items in there as well, phone, smaller laptop/tablet, etc... I haven't decided what I'm putting in my wife's car yet. They make one for it, but I don't think she'll let me install it. She already complains it doesn't have enough storage compartments in the front. I'll probably use a portable lock box with a cable through it and wrapped around seat track. https://www.consolevault.com/
  12. I did mine at Staples. Assuming they all use the same software, there's an option at the bottom of the list for 40mmx40mm. 1.5" = 38.1mm. I went with that size and trimmed them myself at home.
  13. https://www.sigsauer.com/blog/sig-sauer-9mm-115gr-elite-ball-fmj-product-warning-and-recall-notice NEWINGTON, N.H., (August 22, 2022): SIG SAUER has determined that portions of Lot No. JDAR0815 of SIG SAUER 9MM, 115gr, Elite Ball, FMJ (SKU E9MMB1-50), may have powder charge variations that could result in a bullet remaining in the barrel (i.e., a bullet-in-bore obstruction). Firing a subsequent bullet into a bore obstruction could cause firearm damage, rendering the firearm inoperable and subjecting the shooter and bystanders to a risk of serious personal injury. Ammunition from this lot should be removed from use immediately and segregated from other ammunition until it can be returned to SIG SAUER. DO NOT USE LOT NUMBER: JDAR0815
  14. Did you ask about accommodations for revolvers? They also must have changed things or there was a misunderstanding on the phone with me. When I called to schedule mine, she asked what date I wanted. I said the next available Saturday. She said they are only running them on Saturday.
  15. Don't feel bad. I paid a guy twice for two bad trainings. Hoped the first time was a fluke. It wasn't.
  16. I gotta say, it'll be nice to have standard capacity mags in self defense firearms again, but the biggest thing I'm looking forward to is standard capacity for my .22cal AR. The 10 round mag is a real bummer with that. Pinging steel, doing multiple targets, etc... the mag is empty just as you get going. Any thoughts on a time frame?
  17. I see that as a mixed bag. It's good it's scheduled virtually to reduce the impact to one's regular schedule, but I see it as yet another tactic to make it difficult and deter people. I would have trouble making time in my work schedule. No hearing should be required at all. Hope it goes well, looking forward to an update.
  18. Called the Barracks this morning. Spoke with a Trooper in the FIU. He found my packet, reviewed it and verified it was complete. Gave me the info I needed to schedule an appointment for prints, which is about an hour away from home since I did not wish to wait several weeks for someplace closer. When I asked him, he was vague on the process moving forward. Pretty much I wait to be contacted.
  19. I do not recall where I read or why I was under the impression it had to be witnessed by the person accepting it.
  20. Just returned from NJSP, Hamilton, Mercer County. Trooper was nice enough, but clueless. And I couldn't see him. They have the glass tinted so dark it is basically one-way. I find that disrespectful to the public. I'm sure they would claim safety, but it's already bullet proof glass and the doors are locked 24x7, you cannot get into the lobby without being buzzed in. Once in the lobby, you have no place to go either. Years ago, the outer doors were unlocked and the glass, while tinted, allowed you to see the person you were speaking with. With that small rant over, on to the topic. He didn't know what I was supposed to turn in and went by what I told him. I did the 1.5" square passport photos. Side note: the passport photo software has an option for 40mmx40mm, 1.5" is just about 38mm. So I bought the 40mmx40mm and cut them out myself. The pdf on the NJSP website for instructions to apply and the application itself had a different format for the payee on the MO. I asked the Trooper which to put down, he said the one on the application. I don't think he knew he had to witness me sign the Mental Health form. He didn't know what proof of ID was required. I had already made a copy of BC and provided that. He looked at everything said, looks good, you'll get contacted if there's a problem. I said wait, I need info from you for fingerprinting. He said go to the website and schedule it. I said I need a code that identifies this Barracks and a case number. He asked another Trooper and all they knew to give me was the ORI number. Knew nothing else besides to tell me to call between 9-5 and ask for the Firearms Investigation Unit. I tried the ORI on the identego website, it rejected it. I went back inside and showed him just because. So now, I wait to call in the morning. In the grand scheme of things, it probably doesn't matter if I was able to book something today or tomorrow. Either way I figure I will need to travel to Pa for an appointment on Saturday. Possible benefit is I will find out a little bit more about the process when I call. Doubtful, but you never know.
  21. No. Mix of strong hand, support hand and two hands. He didn't call out distances. Max maybe 15 yards? See more more detailed review one or two pages back from Saturday.
  22. Shooters is on the NJSP qualification list also, $90 +tax if paying cash, add a little more for plastic surcharge. They're on 539 at GSP. Call or stop in and ask them about a revolver. When I took the qual, he asked if anyone had a revolver, nobody did, so I don't know the process. Potential downside is the faster pace and single hand shooting. Upside is no holsters and no 25 yards. When given the command to holster, the gun is placed on the counter. The guy that did my qual seemed pretty down to earth. He's also retired NJSP. Based on responses to some questions I think he'd be accommodating. https://www.shootersnj.com/ Not sure I could provide much more info, but PM me if you wish.
  23. You had a class of at least 75 students?! How many Instructors and/or Assistants?
