My permits show my middle initial even though the permit form specifies "Middle Name". . .the MI has been accepted by one FFL so far. (I just checked-ALL my other permits showed full middle name. . . Oops!-Have to see what happens)

I received the official email 1 day after I picked up my permits. The process took 19 days from start to finish in East Windsor.

Newly issued permits have the Extension boxes filled in and signed-so they are good for six months up front. The local detective said that this is being done per new instructions from the State Police. My guess is that permits started under the old process will be extended according to the old precedures. . .

You order from the web site. It's shipped to the dealer and you pck it up there.

Sometimes this can be due to dealer error. I was told that my drivers license was "expired" since 1999 when it wasn't. (Nothing to do with NICS) Two days later the store called me to come pick up my gun. There never was an explanation about the reason for the problem.

Yes, this was my question. Sorry for the confusion. I was told that use of a modified gun for home defense would nullify any legal defense.

Can anyone confirm that a gun modification (i.e., an improved trigger pull) would disqualify that gun for use as Home Defense? (You all hear all kinds of ideas at the range. . . . )

I believe that the "Energy Star" rating accounts for much of the price difference between steel and fiberglass. Also, the blinds-in-window is a nice feature but not the most secure solution unless it's plexiglass.

The technology can be challenging. A great camera body can be discontinued in a couple of years. If you want bells and whistles, you have to pay the price. A great gun will last a lifetime with proper care.
