    Say what?? That is crazy!

When you mean 700 deep, do you mean 700 NICS for NJ or for one gunshop? I am a little confused.

That would be for the state.

And it seems it's only going to get worse , when I left work at 5 pm  they were 500 deep , down from 700 this morning

there is a noticeable difference. For one the brace is a bit shorter than a stock. Then there is also the retention pin, which is further forward on a stock than a brace, allowing it to extend further out. Its not a huge difference but it is noticeable. I made a rough drawing to illustrate what I mean. It is not 100% to scale but close enough.

The 9mm MM sbf is what I'm interested in.  Did they give you an estimate as to availability?

Unless I'm mistaken MM is also the only one of the three that is going to offer a 9mm sbf.

I was told " around " Labor Day.

    DSI offers one.

    SFL Dealers

The New Jersey State Police Firearms Investigation Unit has received numerous inquiries regarding the newly enacted legislation limiting ammunition magazine capacity to ten rounds, N.J.S. 2C:39-17, enacted in June of2018. The law immediately restrictedthe sale of magazines in excess of tenrounds and provided a six month grace period for individuals that already own magazines over the new limit of ten  rounds. This grace period was intended to allow New Jersey residents the time to permanently modify themagazines to only accept ten rounds, turn them over to a State Firearms Licensed (SFL) dealer for sale ormodification, turn the magazines into their local police department fordestruction or simply destroy them byother means. Effective December 10,2018 this grace period ends and anyone in possession of a "Large Capacity Ammunition  Magazine" may be subject to criminal prosecution. .

N.J.S. 2C:39-17 provides certain exemptions for who may possess a largecapacity ammunition magazine. As anSFL, any magazines that exceed tenrounds must be logged into your largecapacity magazine ledger or if in combination with a firearm, in your assault weapons ledger. This magazineledger is designed similarly to an A&D ledger and captures the ammunition magazine in your inventory as well asthe disposition of where it went. These magazines may be sold out of state, to other SFL dealers, law enforcement agencies/officers on letterhead from the police department andin limited circumstances to a retiredpolice officer. In order to comply withthe law, a retired law enforcementofficer may purchase or acquire ahandgun / magazine with a capacity ofup to fifteen rounds from a SFL dealeras long as they are capable of beingused in a handgun they intend to qualify with and carry under the New Jersey Retired Law Enforcement Officer Permit to Carry a Handgun (RPO) program. To document thetransaction, indicate in your large capacity magazine/assault weapons ledger who you sold the magazine/firearm to and retain acopy of their retired law enforcementcredentials for regulatory compliance.

If you have any further questions, please contact a Detective in the New Jersey State Police Firearms Investigation Unit at 609-882-2000, ext.2060.

When did this come out ?

What a crap situation overall...I was going to have my neighbor hold a variety of 15ers from different pistol's and rifles. He is a retired NJ correction officer. However, this crap came out of the ANJRP attachment:

"EXCEPTED PERSONS: .... Retired law enforcement who have a NJ Retired Police Officer card (“R.P.O. Cards”) are excepted, but only up to 15 rounds. A retired law enforcement officer authorized to possess and carry a handgun may also possess and carry a large capacity ammunition magazine if that specific handgun is registered for this purpose with the NJ State Police. ..."

I bolded/underlined 2 sentences. The first one is understandable and was my understanding and hence my reason for asking my neighbor to "take" them...The second sentence is something I hadn't notice before, and don't quite get the point of it, or what it is trying to point out. Why is that second sentence needed if the Retired LE has the RPO card (don't all them retired LE's have the "card")?

Anyone care to take a shot?

Only the firearms listed on thier qual form can have a magazine capacity of up to 15 rounds.
