A 10.5 inch barrel and 5.5 inch extension won't get you to the 16 inch minimum barrel length

Definitely this , my SSA-E only cost me $156

Finally got around to firing it today, felt good to me , also watched as I had someone else shoot it , lower flash , less concussion and muzzle rise than some of the others I've tried ( the pointy thing in the booth next to me was pretty obnoxious, not that I mind but I worry about the people next to me who may ) . Paid $25 bucks for it, I'm happy

Getting the Gamma at a lower cost interest you ? http://www.schuylerarmsco.com/product.vg6-gamma-556-92-993 If using a 14.5" bbl the EX will bring you to legal length , is pre drilled and the same price http://www.schuylerarmsco.com/product.vg6-gamma-556-ex-94-993

Geissele had a 50% off blem sale on July 4 , got a 13" Mk2 for $112.50, still haven't found the blemish and not having to time the nut is priceless

Has Any Installed a Barrel Using a Magpul BEV Block?
Contrvlr replied to medved11's topic in AR Discussion
The BEV block isn't for seating the barrel it's to take torque off of the extension pin and transfer it to the lugs. Mate the barrel and receiver then mount on BEV block and tighten barrel nut. Stand the receiver up on end ( use a folded towel under it )and tap the barrel down till its seated -
No experience with the ACT , the PSA EPT I put in my 9mm AR feels a lot smoother and crisper than the standard PSA FCG that I had in it.

Fellow climbers and knife fans
Contrvlr replied to Grapeshot's topic in Knives, Blades & Other Edged Instruments
Looks like a modified K.I.S.S. , been carrying one in my pocket for years without cutting myself -
I'm curious as to why ? Almost everyone I know has 1 in their collection , less expensive to shoot , slightly higher capacity and just fun plain fun. Pick one up and it's a 1911 . pull the trigger it's like " Wait, what ? "

Sent it to Golf , haven't heard back

The M4e1 upper has the BAR style rail mount as part of the forging. Both issues were easy to fix , won't let them turn me away from the brand , and the fact that they really stepped it up by sending the bcg makes me like them even more
-
Like their stuff a lot Their tolerances aren't always up to par, I haven't had an issue but my buddy has gotten an M4E1 upper/rail combo that had 2 of the rail mounting holes untapped and another that needed the holes on the rail bored out in order to line up They were kind enough to send him out a free bcg to make up for the issues

Earl , I responded to your pm Golf I may be able to get another , let you know by tomorrow night

OK , so Sig was unable to make it work for him, I went on the Geissele site and made sure it was good then cancelled it out , so it's still available if anyone else wants it
