  1. A couple place’s not previously mentioned to shoot... USANA Mullica Hill Rifle & Pistol and Quinton Sportsman’s Club, Quinton leads the pack down here with USPSA, IDPA, 3-gun, 5 Stand, Skeet and Sporting Clays. Sorry, Can’t comment on Glassboro’s politics or FID/Permit issues, I have no personal experience, but I have not heard any complaints.
  2. Live in the town right next to Wenonah, I even know of the McMasions you are speaking of. The area is ok, close to Philly, the Jersey Shore, even NYC, but far enough away to avoid the congestion. FID’s and pistol permits have been fine, local cops usually within the 30 day timeframe. Wenonah is looking at outsourcing their police department, they will go with Mantua, and I don’t know of any issues with permits from them. Wenonah has always been old school conservative, most recently starting to see a swing towards the left (younger people). Schools are rated pretty good. Tight community, several churches. Probably one of the best communities in Gloucester County, but expensive as far as taxes go.... Two indoor ranges, at least 4 decent outdoor ranges within a 40 minute drive. Ok IDPA and 3 gun at SJSC, GREAT IDPA, USPSA, & 3 GUN at Quinton Sportsman’s Club.
  3. Small but growing group of us are meeting at the ChicFilA on the Lowe’s parking lot in Deptford (near the mall). Meeting and leaving from ChicFilA at 0700, catching a ride on the RiverLine somewhere north of Camden. Looks like we can ride the train to Trenton Transit Center and a 15 minute walk to the War Memorial. Feel free to join us -
  4. FYI, FREE Stop the Bleed classes (2) in Clayton (Gloucester County), NJ (Yeah, that’s Taylor Pork Roll country)
  5. Thoughts? 6 shooter in 4 inch being most useful...speedloaders....holsters...if you get into shooting REV in IDPA.... In S&W I like the 686, I have a 586 in 6 inch..38/357nice, but it sits in the safe while I shoot other 4 inch models Might also want to take a long look at a Ruger GP100. Just my thoughts, you need to do what works for you...
  6. Went today and had a nice time, glad I went. Im all shooting sports, not much interest in hunting or fishing, and there was enough to keep us busy for the day. Got there about 10:45, had to park in a shuttle lot. Started to be concerned as the signs all said “All lots full” but there was plenty of parking in the shuttle lots and the shuttles were warm and quick. Got to meet Purple Patrick, so there was that....haha! We also were able to carry with NH non-resident CCWs It was worth the trip....
  7. I’ll be there Friday morning....will look you up. I have a Henry Big Boy Steel 38/357, maybe you can show me something I don’t know about it!
  8. You’re also close to South Jersey Shooting Club - so much more you can do at an outdoor range over indoor - (Ok, aside from the weather advantage and night shooting).
  9. When I shoot CMP with an M1 I need to go up 4 clicks when I go from off-hand to prone. Similarly, this past weekend I wore a padded vest for the first time this year, that kicked my groups to the left also....
  10. 6 Stages IDPA @ South Jersey Shooting Club! Never a bad day shooting!
  11. Let me preface with “I believe”.... I know with IDPA they had to change the start time to 0900. I guess neighbors filed a noise complaint (again speculation), no shooting until after 0900, they have a timer on the locked gate such that even SJSC members can not get in until 0900. as far as Banger’s, yes, shut down about two years ago, understand there will be a replacement, just not sure when, or who.
  12. Welcome! Gloucester County You will need a place to shoot, looking at anything in particular (Range)? lot’s of great handguns out there, if I were buying my first, it would be the golden retriever of handguns - Glock 19 (should be seeing a lot of deals on gen 4’s, and they’re fine). Guns makes are like trucks and football teams, everyone has their favorite, also like pizza, some are better than others, but they’re all good! Good luck, and welcome to the forum, btw, hope you’re not practicing loading that new Ruger with live ammo in your house......
  13. https://www.fmjgunrange.com/ Full Meatal Jacket Gun Range on route 9 a few miles north of Cape May - fairly new, very nice!
  14. I bought a 4x8 galvanized trailer from Franklin Trailer. Works great for what you are looking for.... Not sure if there is a Franklin in your neck of the woods, but I'm sure there is something similar. Hauls a ton of topsoil, mulch, sand, whatever. Also, if you have a kid in college, carts a dorm room of stuff from one side of the state to the other - on problem.
  15. Actually, Connie passed away, shop closed....rumors are, young Ed is overseas...
  16. Blue Hawaii King Theater Gloucester City, NJ Nan had it in for the boy....
  17. For the past couple months I've been considering a Colt Compitetion (still not sure if I'm going to go 9 or 45). I'll be using it mostly for IDPA shooting, where I'm currently rated in the low end of the Sharpshooter class. So as I'm getting ready to close in on a Colt Compitetion, Colt releases the same gun in series 70 and calls it "better". I'm reading as much as I can on the re-introduced series 70, and wondering how much of a difference the series 70 might make over a series 80 for a shooter in my classification. Any thoughts?
  18. Yes, this is the model they are advertising for one week only! June 12 - 18
  19. Haha! Thanks! That's what I meant to say.....
  20. Got my check last week and the 2A t-shirt came under separate cover two days ago....Invest in Precious Metals!
  21. Just a head's up, the recent BJ's sales circular (5/23 - 6/19) is advertising an "Extreme Savings Week" sale June 12 - 18. One of the items on sale is a Snap-on 24 gun safe for $299.99. It's a decent 30 minute fireproof safe typically selling at places like Dicks, TSC, or the box stores for $5-600. I have no interest in BJ's nor Snap-on Safe's, just saw this as a nice deal and thought I'd pass it on. Remember, there's no sales tax on gun safes
  22. Welcome back... Fellow Gloucester County shooter
