  1. It's horrible that the empire of NJ continues to make lawful citizens go through so much crap for a protected constitutional right. Does anyone know if Hillsborough township issued any permits yet? My family and I used to live in Hillsborough and getting our P2P was usually really simple and took less than 30 days. We moved to SD about 10 months ago, no permit needed here.
  2. Thank you, odd part of this Constitutional Carry right here we have here in SD, no one in my family have yet carry any of our firearms. Maybe because it will probably feel weird for us at first. For now, we are just thankful we had the opportunity to move here. We moved here almost 3 weeks ago. weeks ago.
  3. I last posted on this thread in 2019. My family and I will no longer have to worry about how screwed up NJ gun laws are. We finally had enough of the shenanigans in NJ and packed our bags and left. We moved to the free state of South Dakota. Constitutional Carry is the law of the land in SD. Hopefully it stays this way here. I can't say I won't miss NJ, I spent most of my life in NJ, lots of great and wonderful memories. NJ is an awesome state with so much to offer. But it's also a state that has been decimated by liberals. Sorry to go off topic, I just wanted to share this
  4. This will most likley go to court. Mr Ed has nothing to loose. He will be wasting tax payer money to defend his authoritarian control over our civil rights. If we win, which we should because if we dont win this case will pave the way to end of our Second Amendment right in NJ therefore, that tyrant must be held accountable for his crime of deprivation of our rights.
  5. Phil Murphy just maybe the most anti-Second Amendment governor we have ever had. He’s a disgrace, an absolute Tyrannical Dictator. He does not care about law abiding citizens. Criminals have just been released from prison. That apparently means more to him than the civil rights of New Jersey citizens.
  6. My wife just got her P2P today. Wait time was 28 to get P2P. We went to our local FFL to pick up her pistol we were told that NICS check is taking 2 to 3 days. Hopefully that happens
  7. Im posting this info on behalf of my wife 1. Application type (FID/permit w/ existing FID). 3 P2P 2. Police Department where you applied.- Hillsborough 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD.- Joanne 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit.- 28 days 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form). None 6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.) None I am so glad that this process became so much simpler. All done on-line. There is a delay now due to extremely high increase of gun sales. However HIllsborough has always been great. My wife had to make an appointment to pick up her permit to purchase. Reason why, Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, the PD didnt want too many people at one time entering the office.
  8. 1. Application type (FID/permit w/ existing FID). 2 P2P 2. Police Department where you applied.- Hillsborough 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD.- Joanne 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit.- 22 days 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form). None 6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.) None I am so glad that this process became so much simpler. All done on-line. Best part, I did not have to get my boss to sign off on letter. Hillsborough has always great to deal with. I just didn’t like having to get my boss to sign off on me. I’m glad that is no longer the case.
  9. Actually Not. My twin boys at the same time applied for an initial FID and P2P. My one son got his in about 30 days. My other son did not. When he finally called the township to inquire on the status of his FID, He was told they didn't have his employer letter and they will need it before they can process his FID. (even though he did submitted it). He had to get another employment verification letter. Two days later he got the call to pick up his FID and pistol permits. Has the new FARS system eliminate this illegal process that my township forced us to do.?
  10. Has the employer verification/notification illegal letter that was required by my township for a pistol permit been eliminated through the implementation of the new FARS online system? I didn't like that i had to get my boss's approval for a constitional right.
  11. This past January I called my local PD firearms investigations unit (Hillsborough) and inquired about transferring one of my handguns to my wife. I was told that first my wife will need a permit to purchase a handgun And the transfer must be done at an FFL. I then commented and said the law provides an exception for immediate family members. I was then told I was incorrect and that there was no exception. I then contacted the NJ State Police firearms investigations unit who first said the same thing. I then asked if they were absolutely sure, I was put on hold for about a minute and then I was told that I was correct. Firearm transfers between immediate family members do not have to go through an FFL. I then searched the NJ legislation that 2C 58 3 and the revised law did indeed have an exception for immediate family members. Paragraph "n" defines what is considered immediate family members. A spouse is an immediate family member. This goes to show you how one can get trapped by NJ screwed up gun laws, as the individuals in the firearms investigations unit themselves are confused about the new law. Therefore transferring my handgun to my wife without going through an FFL puts the both of us at risk of a felony charge and our only defense is an exception. Crazy thought but could it happen since the two individuals I spoke to appeared not to know that a firearm transfer exception for immediate family members was listed in the revised law. ?
  12. I'm filling this out on behalf of my wife and my twin boys 1. Application type (FID/permit w/ existing FID): P2P - existing FID 2. Police Department where you applied: Hillsborough PD 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD: Joanne 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit: 27 days 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form): employment verification letter needed to be signed by her HR department ??? Somewhat awkward in our opinion 6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.) N/A Hillsborough has always been respectful of our 2nd amendment right, but requiring my employer to sign off on a employment verification letter felt very awkward. One of my twin boys received his initial FID and 2 permit to purchase in the same 27 days. The other twin got his initial FID and 2 permit to purchase just this past Wednesday 02/13/19, (36 days)
  13. 1. Application type (FID/permit w/ existing FID): P2P - existing FID 2. Police Department where you applied: Hillsborough PD 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD: Joanne 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit: 24 days 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form): employment verification letter needed to be signed by my boss 6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.) N/A Hillsborough has always been very efficient and professional regarding firearm permits.
  14. From my personal experince, Hillsborough is good. However, its also been about 5 years since I have applied for a P2P. I recently spoke to one of my friends in HIllsbourgh who recently applied for an FID and told me its around 30 days. 6 years ago my initial FID took 6 weeks. My wife's initial took 7 weeks. A week and a half ago I applied for more P2P. My reference recieved their letters in about 4 days. So hopefully my friend is correct about the 30 days.
  15. We live in Hillsborough NJ. My wife applied for 3 P2P back on October 10 of last year. She got the call December 18. She has an existing FID. Her initial FID took 7 weeks. However, this wait was a lot longer than what we are use to. I applied for 3 more P2P and my wait was only 34 days. I applied December 20 and got the call January 23. So I guess there really isn't any consistency. But I'm grateful that Hillsborough is better than most towns when it comes to processing permits.
  16. Sorry, don't mean to jack your thread. But it seems we are in a "gun seller's market" , not a buyers market Yeah, I have permits to burn too. It's been over 30 days since my last pistol purchase. I have the cash, and permit too. However, I can't seem to find the right pistol. No one seems to have one in stock. The pistol would obviously have to be NJ legal. And that is the problem. It's a Ruger SR9 in stainless. Sure, I found the black one. But, it's not what I want. On the internet I found several Ruger SR9 in stainless but they are all 17 rounds. Sux. I saw a FNH FNS (stainles) in 9mm at my local shop, however, it's was just more than I wanted to spend. The Ruger SR 9 is priced just right. Any one heard of www.cheapascanbe.com. They claim they have the SR9 in stainless, with 10 rounds. I prefer to deal local, but doesn't look like that will happen.
  17. Yup, Hillsborough PD is awesome. My initial FID with one pistol permit took exactly 6 weeks. My wife's initial FID and one pistol permit took exactly 7 weeks (I blame my wife for the 7 weeks because she took her time to schedule her finger print appointment) My additional pistol permits (received yesterday) took only 5 weeks and 1 day. Yup, the chief here in town is really nice. I've met him a few times.
  18. 1. Application type (FID/permit w/ existing FID). 3 P2P with existing FID 2. Police Department where you applied. Hillsborough 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD. N/A 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit. 5 weeks and 1 day (36 days) 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form) N/A 6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.). None, everything went smooth. Since my last permit to purchase was very recent, I only had to fill the application. It was very easy. I did have to provide 2 references, however my reference were not contacted. Hillsborough seems be to one of the better towns for firearm permits and P2P.
  19. Applied for 3 P2P with existing FID. Submitted my application on Wednesday September 4. Received a call from Hillsborough PD on Thursday October 10. So the wait was 5 weeks and 1 day. My initial FID with 1 pistol permit took exactly 6 weeks. My wife waited exactly 7 weeks. (She waited 2 and half weeks to get finger printed). All in all I am very pleased with how Hillsborough handles permits. From all the stories I have read regarding wait times, it's nice to see how efficient my township is with processing permits.
  20. I'm going to post for my wife, she is not a forum member here yet. But I will post for her. 1. Application type (FID/permit w/ existing FID). Initial FID with 1 pistol permit 2. Police Department where you applied. Hillsborough 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD. Dispatcher, didn't get her name 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit. 7 weeks (49 days) , applied on August 7, earliest to get a Saturday finger printing appointment was August 24, recieved the call September 25. 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form). nothing extra 6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.). Employer was contacted, and employer had to fill out questionair. Other than that simple process.
  21. 1. Application type (FID/permit w/ existing FID). initial FID with1 pistol permit 2. Police Department where you applied. Hillsborough 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD. Dispatcher, didn't get her name, she was pleasant. 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit. 42 days, applied on July 17, 2013, received the call August 28, 2013 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form). nothing additional 6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.). None, everything went smooth
  22. I got the call today for my wife this time. I go tthe call early this morning. The caller asked for my wife, I said this is her husband. The person wouldn't say what it was about, but I recognized the phone number, so I asked if this was Hillsborough township. Caller said yes and told me that her FID and pistol permits were ready. I said that my wife will be happy. So, from the time my wife handed in the paperwork to the time we got the call, it was exactly 7 weeks (49 days). My wife couldn't get her finger printing appointment until almost 3 weeks after she handed in her application. So I think that was why she had to wait an additional week longer than I waited for my FID. While I was on the phone I also asked about my 3 pistol permits. I was told that they still have a pile that they are working on and when mine is ready I will get the call. I'm not too worried with Hillsborough, they seem to be one of the better towns in regards to firearms permits. I recieved my FID and one pistol permit in exactly 6 weeks (42 days) I applied on July 17, I got the call on August 28.
  23. Is it possible that some State police barracks take longer to process FID cards than say local township police departments. If so, that's a little odd considering local Pd send out info about the applicant to the State Pd. Unless its because state police have more paperwork that local PD. I'm getting ready to apply for additional pistol permits. I'm so stupid, I only requested one pistol purchasing permit. I guess I have to do the paper work all over again. I hope the wait is not too long since I already have my FID. Thank again for welcomes
  24. Well, I did it or should I say we all fired my new Para 1911. However, we only fired the 1911 with the .22 conversion. Between my wife and I and my boys, we fired 200 rounds. We had a great family time. I was so tempted to reinstall the 45 cal barrel back on and fire the 45 but I didn't. The rimfire set felt very comfortable. Maybe next week I will fire the 45. My boys actually did really well, much better than me. I guess all that airsoft practice time they have under their belt really helped their accuracy.
  25. Thank you. Yes, I think I was just very lucky. My wife feels a little discouraged. I don't know why, she will get it too. She should have applied the same time I applied. But, you have waited over 4 months. That is what heard a lot. Hang in there brother, good things will come.
