  1. I wouldn't expect much out of it, remember the kangaroo court that was the Sandy Hook study commission? They will report back with all politically driven talking points suitable to advancing Christie's presidential ambitions but nothing will come if it. They might recommend some good things, then some republicans will try to pass then, fail, then throw up their hands and say we tried, oh well
  2. Problem is...and I have the same issue...I can't in good faith vote for a Republican. The other issues they oppose me on are more important to me than gun rights...by catering to the far right they end up turning off voters that would otherwise favor their policies. I can't vote democrat either because of their willingness to pass feel good legislation for a short term bump in the polls and long term destruction of gun rights.
  3. http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2013/09/sweeney_says_centerpiece_gun_control_bill_is_dead_after_conditional_veto.html Buy all the 15 rounders you can...I may lose all mine in an unfortunate boating accident when they make the new law a 10rd limit to "save 5 precious lives" or some other garbage that the grabbers will eat up.
  4. I'm guessing the 10rd limit, some worthless training requirement, new fid cards...whatever was in sweeneys centrepiece bill.
  5. These bills come about because there are people somewhere petitioning their lawmakers for them. Legislators would be more than happy to sit around and do nothing all day. The problem is our fellow citizens are pushing for this legislation. Some suburban mom with nothing better to do probably saw something on facebook (after taking a break from spamming me with slot-o-mania invites), or Dr. Phil, about this and started a frothing at the mouth letter writing/call in/fax/smoke signal campaign. Its either that or MDA or one of the other astroturf organizations are sending around feelers to see what can get done. No legislator ever had an original thought, they only do anything when there are people watching with deep enough pockets or a loud enough megaphone to get them in trouble.
  6. I don't think theres a list of who actually has carry permits, and probably would be denied if a OPRA request is put in. Anyone is free to try and put in a request for the applications http://www.nj.gov/lps/opra/
  7. They get lost all the time, its only a little piece of paper, maybe yours got lost during the move.
