  1. Thanks, GRIZ. I saw the below exception and thought it applied to out of state off duty as well. But it is unclear, so it may be better for them to be on the safe side with 10. (b) Nothing in subsection j. of this section shall apply to a law enforcement officer who possesses and carries while off-duty a large capacity ammunition magazine capable of holding not more than 17 rounds of ammunition that can be fed continuously and directly into a semi-automatic firearm.
  2. Hi, Is there a restriction on magazine capacity or hollow point ammunition for concealed carry by off duty out of state LEO? Trying to find out for a friend from a neighboring state. based on this, it looks like magazines up to 17 rounds can be carried? https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2018/Bills/S3000/2846_I1.HTM
  3. It seems to use the LCP II internal hammer mechanism - so it would be an internal hammer that is single action only.
  4. I have one of these - it works well for me with Hornady critical defense. It seems very grip and ammo sensitive. I put a hogue grip sleeve on for it to work reliably with blazer ammo.
  5. Thanks for setting this up, @Pizza Bob. See you guys there!
  6. There is an item on Amazon called "Glock Factory OEM Night Sights 17, 19, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 33, 34, 35". They are 3 dot, and $81.
  7. A jframe in a holster in a zippered outer jacket pocket works well for this purpose. Doesn't impede skiing at all, and I've fallen with one quite a bit. Make sure the gun won't clear the holster during falls. I don't go as hard as fishnut though, so if you do that might be different.
  8. Dear NJGF mechanics and crown vic owners, I'm replacing the front struts on my 06 grand marquis. Can this be done without removing the brake parts? The shop manual and YouTube videos all show the brake caliper bracket, caliper, and rotor being removed to make room. I saw some videos for vehicles with similar suspension setups, like the 04 F150, in which the brake parts were not removed and there was still enough room to work. Sincerely, Catch22LR
  9. I'll have to try this - I'm pretty sure that apart from when using plain black sights, I shoot using only the dots or other markings to aim.
  10. Why do you prefer a black rear sight to one with fiber?
  11. Thanks! and Merry Christmas! I'm really liking Ohio so far. I am in NJ until the 3rd. Need to fill the gap in my shotgun education. Anyway looks like there's no chance of snow, but do you want to do a shotgun meetup on the 27th?
  12. Escaped under cover of darkness in the early morning a few months ago - found my concealed carry permit in the mailbox 5 days after submitting paperwork.
  13. I think you're right - I just realized that "deployable steering column" is a specific part and not just everything above the steering rack. Going to try to find where exactly the deployable steering column circuit is next. I have a workshop manual for this car coming next Monday, so I'll see if this is something I can do at home or not.
  14. Thanks for the info, it really helped me get started! I replaced the clockspring after reading about that solving similar problems, but that didn't fix it, so I'm trying to diagnose airbag module now. There are two pairs of pins on the back of the airbag module and a volt meter shows the resistance between pins of the same pair to be 0. I read that normal values for this resistance are between 2 and 7 ohms. Could this mean I need a new airbag module? I attached a photo with arrows pointing to the pins.
  15. That should work for us, will know for certain as it gets closer.
  16. You're right, there was a code - it was B2984 and came with the message "Deployable steering column circuit open".
  17. If someone with a hunting license is definitely going, then my dad and I are in too. But it is a long drive, so we would rather not go and find out no one there has a license.
  18. The scanner came in, but the light went away again. It'll be back.
  19. Is anyone with a hunting license definitely going tomorrow? We will be bringing a safety orange hand thrower.
  20. Thanks 1LtCAP! I just ordered a scanner that should get airbag codes. It should be here Saturday, so I'll post if it finds anything. I did some reading on flash codes, it looks like Fords made after 2005 dont use them. I am about an hour from Cherry Hill
  21. Forgot to mention - we used an obd2 scanner to see if there were any fault codes and the scanner did not find any.
  22. Dear mechanics, I have yet another 2006 Grand Marquis question for you. The airbag warning light in my car came on last Saturday. When I start the car the airbag light flashes 12 times then 7 times. Then it waits a few seconds and repeats the pattern. After that the light stays on til I turn the engine off. The light went away on Monday night and I replaced the battery on Tuesday. I drove the car again today and the light is back on. Does anyone know how to fix or diagnose it?
  23. I'm in! It has been too long since the last one.
