  1. Now if you had to prove residency to vote and bring a utility bill NJ.com would be all over it and call it "suppression "! What if the utilities are in his wife's name ? What if he is renting all utilities included? Sounds like an illegal requirement IMO. If only the Star Ledger and MSNBC were on OUR side!
  2. Have a permit to burn and I'm deciding between an LCR 22 and an SR 22. The purpose of the purchase is "a fun to shoot 22 LR"... Any owners of either out there ?
  3. Relist Watch: What Does the Court’s Relist Streak Mean? http://www.scotusblog.com/2014/04/relist-watch-what-does-the-courts-relist-streak-mean/#more-208916 Another tiny bit of encouragement that they'll hear the Drake case...
  4. http://nj1015.com/supreme-court-to-hear-case-of-nj-man-suing-state-police-over-right-to-carry-permit-poll/ Should He Get a ‘Right to Carry’ Permit? [POLL] Let's vote in this Drake poll at NJ 101.5!
  5. Anyone have any first hand experience with the SW351PD 22 magnum. My grandfather in Fl is thinking of picking one up for ccw. He is recoil adverse and has trouble racking the slide on the smaller automatics (BG380 / G42)... Thanks !
  6. I know I won't get much work done tomorrow morning waiting for the decision. Imagine the beautiful site of all the antis bitching and complaining should they decide to hear it.... The purpose of the constitution is ensure the rights of the minority in our republic. That's us in nj, but we are growing ... Our numbers will only increase if / when SCOTUS allows us our RKBA... It could be the biggest day for gun rights in the history of NJ ever... Keep the faith. Freedom prevails!
  7. It's like your favorite team is in the Super Bowl and not only can't you watch or listen to the game. But you also won't know the score for 3 days!
  8. Found this interesting as to today's procedures .... From UScourts.gov Why does today feel like your favorite team is in the NFC championship game, but you can't watch or even listen on the radio. Plus you won't know the score until Monday ? Keep the faith! ----------------------- When oral arguments are concluded, the Justices have to decide the case. They do so at what is known as the Justices' Conference. Two Conferences are held per week when Court is in session, on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. The Justices vote on cases heard on Mondays and Tuesdays of a given week at their Wednesday afternoon Conference. The Justices vote on cases heard on Wednesday at their Friday afternoon Conference. When Court is not in session, usually only a Friday Conference is held. Before going into the Conference, the Justices frequently discuss the relevant cases with their law clerks, seeking to get different perspectives on the case. At the end of these sessions, sometimes the Justices have a fairly good idea of how they will vote in the case; other times, they are still uncommitted. According to Supreme Court protocol, only the Justices are allowed in the Conference room at this time—no police, law clerks, secretaries, etc. The Chief Justice calls the session to order and, as a sign of the collegial nature of the institution, all the Justices shake hands. The first order of business, typically, is to discuss the week's petitions for certiorari, i.e., deciding which cases to accept or reject. After the petitions for certiorari are dealt with, the Justices begin to discuss the cases that were heard since their last Conference. According to Supreme Court protocol, all Justices have an opportunity to state their views on the case and raise any questions or concerns they may have. Each Justice speaks without interruptions from the others. The Chief Justice makes the first statement, then each Justice speaks in descending order of seniority, ending with the most junior justice—the one who has served on the court for the fewest years. When each Justice is finished speaking, the Chief Justice casts the first vote, and then each Justice in descending order of seniority does likewise until the most junior justice casts the last vote. After the votes have been tallied, the Chief Justice, or the most senior Justice in the majority if the Chief Justice is in the dissent, assigns a Justice in the majority to write the opinion of the Court. The most senior justice in the dissent can assign a dissenting Justice to write the dissenting opinion. If a Justice agrees with the outcome of the case, but not the majority's rationale for it, that Justice may write a concurring opinion. Any Justice may write a separate dissenting opinion. When there is a tie vote, the decision of the lower Court stands. This can happen if, for some reason, any of the nine Justices is not participating in a case (e.g., a seat is vacant or a Justice has had to recuse).
  9. Let's say SCOTUS does strike down justifiable need and simply removes that requirement from the law. What class / qualification does one need to take to apply for the CCW? I'm cautiously optimistic though in PRNJ you never know.... Friends who have followed this issue for a lot longer than I have, seem to be more pessimistic that it will NEVER happen. If we are not granted cert on the18th I doubt we'll ccw in nj in my lifetime.
  10. I certainly don't buy the " we're too busy with the state's budget woes to infringe upon the law abiding citizen's 2A rights at the moment ".
  11. FWIW the extension process was pretty painless. Dropped off the P2P off and had it back in hand the next week ! Now the question is what to use it on !
  12. Thanks for all the great info. I placed a small order from Provident Metals and received it today . Was a smooth transaction.
  13. Sounds like EFGA is the better choice as long as you only need a100 yard rifle range. The first year would be only about a quarter the cost and it's an even bigger savings if you bring someone every time.
  14. Is there anywhere in north jersey that sells frangible ammunition? If not can you recommend any jersey friendly places I can mail order some .40 cal frangible ammo ? Thanks!
  15. 1) Can I head out to EFGA, join / pay and shoot the same day ? 2) Does the guest pass allows me to take someone every visit?
  16. Any thoughts on having some gold / silver on hand for a crisis situation ? Can anyone recommend reputable NJ dealers ?
  17. What is the process to extend a p2p the additional 90 days ? Is there additional paperwork? Thanks!
  18. What are some basic skills and drills to practice during an hour at the range. Typically I'll go through a box(50) of higher caliber rounds (.40 / 9mm) and a couple of hundred 22lr when available.
  19. I vote this the best discussion ever in the history of NJgunforums! Thanks Again!
  20. Thanks for sharing ! This is the least expensive 22 I've scored in a long time.
  21. My dad grew up there. I'll still visit once in a whirl for Fiore's deli or Leo's bar pies. Doubt they ever let them build a range there today !
  22. I'm relatively new to the sport and to taking an interest in 2A issues. I was lucky enough to have a knowledgeable friend take me to the range (more than once) and offer advice when I had questions. This forum has also been a great resource. That being said I was still pleasantly surprised to see how different ( for the better ) attitudes are in PA with regards to carry and even purchasing ammo. You don't have to feel like a criminal when you are at the ammo counter at Dick's sporting goods. Ammo was treated more like golf balls... And the staff was friendly rather than looking at you cross eyed. To the grey beards out there. Was nj always this bad? I remember as a kid my dad taking me to the range in Hoboken ( I would guess that's long gone?). But I don't recall the BS laws that we have now? To everyone, it seems the sport is catching on in nj and really growing . Plus I think a lot of people would ccw here if they could with all the recent crime . With a favorable SCOTUS decision do you think we can improve the culture here. I'm feeling (hoping) CC will veto the mag limits if he still is in the running for national office.
