  1. http://www.my9nj.com/story/24383864/nj-gun-law-debate Jack Fiamingo speaking about nj ccw on my 9. Surprisingly informative as opposed to be totally anti as we're used to seeing in the media. No mention of CLASP.
  2. One idea to get the word out might be to post on some of the range's Facebook pages. RTSP has 5000 likes and like minded people visit the site frequently. Another place to spread the word might be in NJ.com comment section of appropriate stories. Lots of folks commenting on a few of the tragedies in the state have commented on their lack of being able to exercise their 2A rights. A third option might be if we could get ammoland or a sympathetic news media (Fox????) to give the drive some publicity. Heck - you'd think the NJ-chapter of the NRA might spread the word. Just some thoughts ....
  3. Well Browning sent a replacement litepipe which I installed today. Again thanks for the info and guidance !
  4. Thanks again Tony ! Appreciate all your help !
  5. Thanks for the quick reply. I got in touch with Browning and they're sending out a replacement I asked if I needed a special tool to install it. The rep said it is "spring loaded, no tools required"? Does anyone have experience with this ? Thanks !
  6. After spending time at the range today I discovered my front litepipe was missing from my Browning Buckmark Hunter. Where can I buy / order replacement litepipes specific to the Buckmark Hunter. Also do they require a special tool for installation ? Thanks !
  7. Was wondering what folks would recommend as a 25 yard optic for punching holes in paper indoors at 25 yards. I don't want to break the bank, but don't want to waste money on something that's a piece of junk. Thanks and happy thanksgiving !
  8. Thanks for the quick reply. I usually end up losing my EDC knife every few months. Once in a while they even turn back up!
  9. http://www.sogknives.com/trident-mini-black-tini.html http://www.amazon.com/Kershaw-1445-Half-Folding-Knife/dp/B002IWY15S/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top/183-9010044-5962462 Was wondering what are the opinions here on the Sog trident mini as an EDC? Is it nj compliant with the assisted opening technology ? I do like the built in line cutter. Or am I better off with something like a kershaw 1/2 ton since I am going to lose it eventually anyway . Again thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts and opinions !
  10. Hypothetically speaking... If they ever come to confiscate, do they have a complete record of long arm purchases / ownership ?
  11. How many rounds should you have stock piled for your primary handgun / rifle ?
  12. Found this at cabelas.com Will this work as a basic spotting scope ? For the most part I'll be using it at CR at 50 and 100 yards. It seemed a lot less expensive than anything else which can be a warning sign. Thanks! http://www.cabelas.com/product/Simmonsreg-ProSport-20-60x60-Spotting-Scope-Kit/1275158.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch%2F%3FN%3D%26Ns%3DMIN_SALE_PRICE%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3DSpotting%2Bscope%26Ntx%3Dmode%252Bmatchallpartial%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts%26WTz_stype%3DSN%26form_state%3DsearchForm%26search%3DSpotting%2Bscope%26searchTypeByFilter%3DAllProducts%26x%3D-738%26y%3D-52&Ntt=Spotting+scope&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products
  13. Cabela's is having a sale on select knives and lights. They are also including free shipping on these sale items http://www.cabelas.com/browse.cmd?categoryId=153370080&WTz_l=DirectLoad%3Bcat105591780
  14. Thanks for the quick responses. Assuming the scope is picked out what do you need to consider in a mount? Any links to appropriate mounts on cabelas?
  15. Hoping to keep it under 300. Does the illuminated reticle help ? Thanks again!
  16. I like how the article mentions it works 90% reliably. So 1 out of 10 times it doesn't work. Imagine if your car or cell phone only worked 9 out of 10 times?
  17. I'm getting back into the sport after a very long absence and having a "blast" with my M&P 15 Sport. As an entry level AR I'm quite happy with the purchase. Been to Cherry Ridge several times as a guest and thinking about joining though I realize that is a topic for another thread.... Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced scope? I'd preferably like to keep the iron sights intact (A2 front / magpul folding rear) and simply add it to the Picatinny rail. The main purpose would be plinking on the 50 / 100 yd range and of course zombie defense. Again thanks to everyone on the forum for sharing their knowledge and insights. The forum has become my go to place to learn about the sport and it's nice to know that there are others in NJ that also enjoy it.
  18. I went once as a guest midweek back in September, had a positive experience. and was thinking of joining. Now I'll think twice. .,, Are there any other outdoor rifle ranges in northwest NJ?
  19. On another note, do bullets such as "guard dog" and "hornady critical defense " fall under hollow point or non- hollow point ? I've read differing opinions.
  20. I think you need to go to the range from your old house. Discharge some and then drive to your new place. It fits into the crazy nj exemptions IMHO.
  21. Didn't know they had something inexpensive like the water bob. I'll definitely order one. Thanks for the info! With the life straw could you safely drink right out of lake Hopatcong or the Hackensack river ?
  22. What would you stock up on to hope to survive / ride out such a situation ?
  23. Can you purchase handgun ammo in nj with a utah nonresident ccw license ?
  24. Hi All and thanks for the help / info! I'm only loading the magazine by hand. I'm not using an auto loader. The 10 rounder that came with the rifle can be loaded fully and always seats breech open and closed. With the 15 PMAG I need to hand load it to only 14 and push the second round down to get the magazine to load with the breech closed.
