So long story short, we're in a pinch, financially.
While I and the Mrs scramble to find new jobs, I'd like to see if there's anyone here in need of a Man With A Van and a 20' open deck trailer, who needs things moved.
Van is Chrysler T&C minivan, that can hold 4x8 sheets flat.
Trailer is a 20' open deck steel, with a max capacity for me towing of 4000#.
I've hauled cars, small suvs, pallets of mulch, large quantities of milk crates, IBC totes, if it fits I'll move it.
The minivan is a big cube inside. bathroom vanities, 46" garage cabinets, etc. have all been moved.
I'm in the 07922 zip code.
Assuming agreed upon pricing, I'll go anywhere and carry any thing.

In addition, if anyone needs a car or trailer in outside storage on private property, I'd be willing to arrange something.

    Thanks all.

  3. December 12, 2006 10:40am to 4:04pm I made 39 passes down the Atco drag strip during an invite only test-n-tune session.

It was actually a warm day then as well.

In total I made more passes at Atco that one day than I did total at all my visits to Englishtown.

Many countries do okay with no income taxes and just have a value added tax (VAT). You spend more money, you pay more taxes.

Our current system, according to one statistic I saw some time ago, results in only about a half of Americans paying income taxes.  Most of those people are below poverty level.  A few are billionaires that take advantage of our complex tax laws.

In defense of the billionaires, I remember something I heard years ago.  Have you ever heard of a poor man creating jobs?

I've never created a job for anyone.  Billionaires have created 1000s.  That's Trump or Bill Gates.

OTOH, perhaps a VAT should be explored. I believe that the tax burden will still be carried by the middle class in any case.

In terms of perceived "pain" from taxes, the middle class is always the one with the higher perception.  We're generally *just* rich enough to be comfortable, but not so rich to have "fuck you" money lying around.  The poor always get assistance, and the rich don't really care.

  5. The major stores are all over the map on how they'll deal with this.  No idea what the mom-n-pop ones are going to do.

BJs has done the cardboard box thing for forever, but for their curbside, they wheel your stuff out in plastic bins, that you need to unload at your car.  that will hopefully change.

  6. my current play is $ASTR.

crypto is way too volatile right now.

I do have some mined 'coin' in the whole Chia/forks space, but I've shut those servers down for now (being way too temperamental to keep running at this point.)

  7. if DD falls through, let me know.

also for those who are prepping at all, having a couple window A/C units can be handy.  I can easily run 2 of them off my generator, in case the central HVAC takes a crap during an emergency.
