Thank you. That is pretty close to the 8.9" of a full size mp5 which I believe is the optimal length for 9mm.

If NJSP clarifies that you can measure with the brace extended how much shorter can you go on the barrel? When will the 9mm version be available? Nothing against short tubes in 556 but I think these will be a home run in a pistol caliber as you gain nothing by going to 16" on 9mm.

Legal Status of Non-NFA Firearm AR Build?
samtechlan replied to Melancholia's topic in Other Firearms & Non-NFA
I have no doubt they will try to close this loophole at some point but look at California, they have tried to ban AR's for 30 years and the manufacturers keep finding loopholes. From Friday's Wall Street Journal: https://www.wsj.com/video/how-gunmakers-tweak-rifles-to-get-around-assault-weapon-bans/482399CD-ABF0-4993-A4A4-4589FE3D05D8.html -
Legal Status of Non-NFA Firearm AR Build?

Exactly the reason why the Shockwave and Tac 14 are not AOW. The absurdly long grip puts them over 26". -

I'm thinking about the Banshee as well and it would be a simple thing for CMMG to build (for the NJ market) some of the 9mm models with a slightly longer barrel (the current ones have an 8" tube) or a permanently attached longish fh plus the all important vfg to get to the 26" OAL. The main advantage over the Modern Materiel 9mm firearm would be the radial delayed blowback of the Banshee rather than the straight blowback of the MM. -

Because they might want the vfg without having to go the sbr route. -
Interesting. That Banshee is 24.4" inches "with the brace collapsed". With the right type of flashider welded on and a VFG it would seem to qualify as a NJ legal non NFA firearm.

Legal Status of Non-NFA Firearm AR Build?

So far the discussion has been about AR type firearms due to the obvious modularity of the platform but I assume this would also work with an MP5 clone, a Scorpion or one of the B&T offerings. -

Even now in 2019 you can still get around some of the oppressive CA laws. Behold CA legal AR pistol: -

Would like this in a PCC format as well. -
Does anyone have one of these NJ produced carbines in 9mm? If so how do they compare in terms of accuracy, recoil and overall shootability to a Scorpion carbine? https://modernmateriel.com/product-category/modmat9/

Alabama Arsenal has one of the best videos on the micro. They were even shooting steel targets at 200 yards.

Most comps do make it louder but this is a linear comp so the objective is different. https://www.kawvalleyprecision.com/KVP-Linear-Comps-s/100.htm "The KVP linear comp, collects and redirects muzzle gases away from the shooter. This redirection helps reduce the perceived decibels the shooter experiences at his or her ear. By pushing excessive noise and concussion downrange, not only will the shooter experience a much softer shooting experience, bystanders will also benefit from the redirection of the muzzle gasses."
-
I agree as to recoil being light but I wanted to see how quiet I can get it without having access to a suppressor since the linear comp is supposed to redirect the blast towards the target and away from the shooter. In addition to the Fiocchi 158 grain I'm also going to test it with some 165 grain subsonic LAX ammo. Great video by the way.
-
Instead of a flash hider I decided to go with a KVP linear comp on the Ruger PCC. It hardly adds any weight up front, looks pretty decent and with Fiocchi 158 grain subsonic ammo it will be as close as you can get to a suppressor in this state.
-
Yes mine is threaded from the factory. Ramsey's carries both the threaded and the non-threaded models, the latter for NY buyers.
-
I would assume that it is legal since the threaded barrel version of the PCC is NJ legal due to the absence of a pistol grip.
-
There is already a brace for it. I'm sure there will be several versions from different manufacturers in no time. In many ways this makes even more sense than on the pump shockwave type guns as the benelli-like versamax gas system significantly reduces the felt recoil as compared to a pump. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDNUJr8OJis

The Germans should have rioted too when Merkel invited the world in. Good for the French for standing up to Macron.

https://olive-drab.com/archive/JSCS_DA-PAM_27-50-299_16.txt A little dated but still a great overall history of the use of Shotguns in combat covering WW1, WW2, Malaysia and Vietnam.

I would do this as well with my 590 except for the fact that I know the LOP would be too long. The magpul stock fits me perfectly.
