Im not trying to sound like a smart ass here just stating a fact. If the NRA wasn't what it is you would not have those guns, so yeah, you do need an NRA membership to enjoy shooting guns. I obviously don't know you but it sounds like you are misinformed about the NRA, you really should call them and ask why you should join 1 800 672 3888. It's less than a few boxes of ammo and there is absolutely no excuse not to join if you own any type of firearm. Also I recommend getting the shooting illustrated magazine from them free with your membership, not the Riflemen.

You don't have an NRA membership? Do you own those guns or are you renting them?

I gotta make a new year's resolution to log off this dumpster fire of a forum forever. Unfortunately it's like a car accident and I have trouble looking away.

Thanks man, I didn't know the NRA had lawyer insurance. I'm a member of both US law shield and NRA. Thanks man, I didn't know the NRA had lawyer insurance. I'm a member of both US law shield and NRA.

HI and welcome Jason, thanks for joining the forum. What insurance do you recommend?

Better idea,,, instead of bitching and crying on this waste of time forum call Mitch McConnell twice a day Monday through Friday everyday at 2022242541 And say you want HR38 voted on right now. If that bill passes it will in turn help overturn capacity restrictions. I've been calling for the last 2 weeks and I feel like I'm the only one. I've also priority mailed a hand written letter and emailed. What did any of youze guys do?

We know for you its different cus its your job but I guess what i dont understand is for the everyday NJGF keyboard operator that is not even supposed to have a gun according to NJ (thats was a joke and it includes myself), is do they go to these courses to learn to shoot or for the tactics? Its a fact (If you already have the basics down) that there is nothing anyone can tell you that is magically going to tell you that will turn you into the best gunslinger in the world, that only comes from practicing. As far as the tactics side of it, well, whats the point? Everyone talks shit but the fact of the matter is if the swat team comes for you the only option is to come out with your hands up, no one on here is commando 1985 and no tranning class is going to turn you into that. My point is matches are WAYYY cheaper and will make you better at shooting. Zeke reminded me of another reason I use to talk about alot is you will meet some of the coolest people and make life long friends at matches. Theres not much seriousness about it (except for the safety rules) you will break balls and laugh all day. To me thats how I would rather spend a saturday or sunday morning, not trying to out puss face the creepy dude rocking a plate carrier next to me lol. I must not understand either how drawing, putting sights on target (if needed) and making the gun go bang is any diffrent in either situation. This is what im saying that shooting is shooting, to me its only one thing and theres only one way to do it, faster and more accurate than anyone else. All serious questions Little side piece for any one whos listining. The reason I say making the gun go bang is cus when you first start out you need to do all the fundamental bull shit to hit the bulls eye but when you get good you can smack at the trigger like a cave man and hit the X every time, really really fast. that only comes with lots and lots of practice.

Ah shit I have a feeling Zeke and I both got a kick in the ass coming. At least she shoots a glock.

What does Kimber, Sig and a srtipper all have in common? They look good, they feel good in your hand, but really they are just an overpriced piece of shit on the inside.

My biggest gripe with taking these types of courses is if you live in New Jersey it doesn't matter because you cannot carry a gun. Your guns have to remain in your house while you cannot even access them for your driveway when you get home. That all could change if you get off this forum for 60 seconds and call Mitch McConnell today and everyday at 202-224-2541 And tell him to get HR 38 voted on as fast as possible. I called twice yesterday I'm going to call twice today and at least twice every day until they go on their Christmas Vacation. I put spaces there so you can copy and paste the phone number easier.

Why did the motorcycle stay home on Friday night? Because he was 2 tired. Come on guys you know that was a lot funnier than the last 100 Posts in this thread. Yes we all have the same political views, now post something that's actually funny

This is where I disagree. At those training courses you're not shooting at bad guys, your shooting at paper targets, usually at very close distances and those paper targets don't shoot back either just like a match. If you're going to charge me money and tell me how to shoot you better be better than me, but from my example above the guy didn't even come close to me. I feel kind of bad because I don't even know who this guy is. I would like to meet him if he comes again, maybe give him a few free pointers LOL. High exposure you're my boy so don't get offended but I'm going to use you for an example to. Last time we shot a match together you were shooting an open gun, I was shooting iron sights and guess who beat who out of you and me? (it was me for those that don't know) And if I remember correctly that was the day I shot a match with a pulled groin muscle that hurt so bad I couldn't even see straight, not that I'm one to make excuses. Everybody knows how hardcore you are about these training courses.

Come on guys this is my all time favorite debate.

I'm happy that we're talking about shooting and guns on here, I honestly never thought it would happen again lol. I'm not sure what your saying boo, I can't review the fact that someone that's thought of as some kind of gun God got beat by an average Joe that has never had any kind of "training" because it's not needed. Second part of your quote. Yeah buddy, you don't have to be Arnold Swarchnagger of 1988 to be good at shooting just look at Rob Latham. You either have it or you don't and if your going to charge what they charge you better back your shit up. It all comes down to gun handling skills and putting rounds on target as fast as possible. Shooting is shooting don't matter if it's at a match or a tanning course. It also has to do with how well you can deal with stress/pressure. Personally, (as long as it's not at a match I'm running) once I get a gun in my hand it really calms me down and I believe I can do anything. Like I said again, shooting is shooting. It doesn't matter if it's at a match, tanning course or da streetz. Tactics, art projects while shooting, hanging upside down under your truck door and all that goofy stuff won't mean shit if someone that can actually shoot puts rounds on target first. How do you "learn" to actually shoot? By shooting. I said it before and I'll say it again, once you have the basics down there's nothing anyone can tell you that's going to magically turn you into Marcus lattrell. It's up to you to practice and put rounds down range, a lot. Don't try to sell me on that matches are rehearsed and that's why I beat the operator. If that was the case then anyone with a photographic memory that can't shoot will win. Obviously that's never happened. There's nothing special that happens at matches, the course of fire means nothing. It comes back to what I keep saying, shooting is shooting, you either have it or you don't. I can't stress enough that it's not something that can't be gotten if you don't have it. You just need to practice and shoot matches. It's always an even playing field, if the operator is a better shooter than me he should have won. Holy shit I just realized I typed to much and probably lost zeke 7 words in lol. I'm bored so I'm rambling on. I'm going to go Ben stoger dry fire. (YouTube it) I'll leave you with this, the guy who wins in a gun fight is the one that can shoot. I'd rather have to go up against mat best than Rob Latham in a gun fight.

This whole post is truth! I would put more emphasis on saying fuck bobs but that's just me. James Whittaker is the man, the wife and I both bought lots of stuff from him. If your a Quinton member check out county sports in carneys point he's a big supporter of Quinton members and pretty much any gun guy.
-
So I found out today that the guy that works with vickers shot one of the 3 gun matches I was at this past summer and guess what place he got? A couple up from last place!!! Umm yeah I should give them money to teach me how to shoot at the match I won. BTW, I'll "teach" every thing I know to anyone for the low low price of free, all in the hopes of getting you to beat me and motivating me to actually practice.

Saw this story a few days ago. Was going to ask the chief in the next few days when I get time to pick up my permits. You know what's funny is people still don't understand the significance of hr38. That bill would change so many other laws in given time of it passes. People need to call, write and email in that order right now Mitch McConnell, their senators and Trump.
-
I got a new phone, galaxy s9 plus, and I've been using it to call Mitch McConnell (202-224-2541) and others, everyday to urge him to push HR 38 through the Senate like you all should be doing.
-
Also don't forget it was People Like Us that got HR 38 passed through the house. Not the lazy s*** talkers that don't do a f****** thing except complain about everything on this f****** forum.

It took me a whole 20 minutes of my lunch break to call Booker, Menendez, McConnell, Trump and the NRA. Everyone was extremely polite and helpful to take my comments. I'm going to call again tomorrow and everyday for the next few weeks. I shouldn't have to say this but if you need help finding the phone numbers let me know.
