  1. Tell them you will switch to, cable, tin can and wire, become a Luddite, whatever.... you will have to listen to a low level cs rep's schpiel blah blah blah, they will offer to shave $5 $10 but nothing close to a competitors introductory offer (or a fair price). When they are done, tell them to schedule an appointment to have the equipment removed, bam... you will be invited to speak with someone from the magical customer retention department. they are the only ones that can offer you a good deal. You will still have to be on your game, they are not going to offer $99 internet/cable/phone without a bit of sweating it out. Make THEM sweat it out. it's a pain in the ass game of chicken, but you will always win. I have saved thousands over the years doing this.
  2. jack and jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of antifreeze. So, what's the verdict, did you figure out what the problem is?
  3. How can you throw a 20 at something that does not exist? btw, most innovations come from hackers, not computer hackers but people who think like engineers and have a need and design something simple and free, or cheap, to fill that need. It's a win-win. you get to drink a bottle of wine and also not have your mini shells flipping around on you. git 'er done.
  4. Bet you could accomplish the same thing with a trimmed cork from a wine bottle.
  5. Well, it's true. I'm just basing my guesses from my own experiences. There are bunches of other things that could be the problem that only an expert can diagnose. (but i'm probably still right )
  6. One of the actual experts should be along shortly. #3 should really be #1.
  7. My money is on air in the system or a clog in the system. Needs to start with checking coolant level.
  8. antifreeze/coolant runs through the radiator the engine and the heater core if heat is turned on. It is prevented from moving through the circuit by a thermostat, that is actually a heat activated valve, when the engine is cold. There is also a reservoir that holds "extra" coolant. That is where you can check the coolant level by eyeballing it. When the coolant heats up it expands and some of it may bleed off into the reservoir, that's normal.
  9. low or high rpms, coolant will still make it to the core if the system is not blocked/clogged.
  10. If the thermo was stuck open, it would take forever to heat up. When was the last time you serviced the cooling system, i.e flush and fill or even just checked the levels?
  11. Check your coolant levels, if it's good then you may have a clogged heater core or a clog in the coolant circuit. When the engine is revving, it provides more pressure so that may explain why heat is on only when moving. It could also be air in the system. There's a way to bleed it out but I'm not sure how on your odyssey.
  12. Many years ago I sold trees. One year I went through 3500 trees, at just one stand. The last shipment, I don't know where they came from, the trees ranged from 10', the smallest, to probably 16'. I swear, they were treetops from a logging company. Anyway, we made a lot of 7'-8' trees out of them.
  13. It has been sought. Hugh at ProTec is very interested in what you are trying to accomplish. PM me plz.
  14. The only thing that smells as good as real pine is real pine. I've had both fake and real trees. Some of the artificial trees are very realistic now, not like the ones made of pipe cleaners when I was a kid. I prefer real but for various reasons we have been going with a fake table top tree lately. For that genuine pine scent, this is what I do. Go to the local fire/first aid tree stand and ask for cuttings If you know how to identify a Balsam fir, grab as much of that as you can, otherwise, just get whatever. Trimmed tree boughs are a pita, they are basically garbage and they will let you take as many as you like. They always offer them to me for free (garbage, remember) but I always throw them a $20. When you get home, cut up the boughs into 12" lengths and stuff them into some old pillow cases. Twist the top and tie it off. Place the pillow cases anywhere you like, behind the tree and under the couch is where I put them. All the real pine scent goodness with zero cleanup.
  15. I gotta admit. not a big fan of he shockwave's position for the slide release, but that's because I'm an 870 all the way kinda guy, The position is alien to me. But, I do like the trigger on the shockwave better than my mid 1980's 870. The 870 trigger is heavier but breaks clean, while the shockwave has a certain amount of take up then breaks nice at a lesser pull weight. Almost feels like a two stage..... almost.
  16. 1:7 seems kinda fast for .243. I doubt you will get close to 3000fps with heavy for caliber bullets with that twist rate.
  17. 1 MOA??? what kind of BS is that! You can do better. Start from scratch, I'll tell ya what, I'll take that heap off your hands for half what you put into it. You deserve a sub MOA rifle.
  18. Does driving by a school bus stop, dropping kids off at bus stop count as a school zone? What about driving by a school? What happens if you are driving to the burger joint and get pulled over in a school zone?
  19. .243 Win was a really popular round for long range competition. 6mm CM is just a slight teensy weensy improvement over .243. Competition shooters jizz over CM and rifle makers need to make more money so they ditched .243 for comp rifles and started making 6mm CM. So, now it's a thing.
  20. Firearms related arts and crafts for the holidays.
  21. Simply put, deregulating the internet, departing from it's original open source unrestricted structure, would be like deregulating football, baseball, or any other sport you happen to still like. Anything goes. Regulation, to some degree, is necessary. what the FCC is proposing takes away consumer protections and empowers corporations to rape you. The internet, on the consumer market level, was intended to be an open source, unrestricted, means to access information. Without net neutrality, you will only see what your ISP wants you to see. Imagine what it would be like if you wanted to travel somewhere, and the person at the toll booth told you, as a matter of corporate policy, they don't want you to go to your destination because it would not be an optimally profitable destination for them and you will have to pay extra to go to your destination or they outright say no, you cannot use this road to get to where you want to because it's a conflict of interest, and block your ability to access information.
  22. Yanno, maybe my acquaintance at pro-tec is not the person you want. Some of the training is ... Well... Violent. Many of the women in the shelters are traumatized and having a guy do the training could freak them out. He probably knows female trainers though.
