check out this Netflix movie which the Obama's helped produce.

Already seen it.  /s The EMPs that take out all semiconductors, including solar energy, is fake news. Solar is the answer to all of Chin....  the worlds economic and ecological problems.  /s off.

I'm sure nothing bad can come of China controlling global energy production.

North Americans can expect more frequent and prolonged power outages.

Seems to me that the outages are planned, engineered to steer people into going solar, for that "independence".  Where does most of the solar stuff come from again????...  Nah, no conspiracies here folks, move along.

said that Biden quietly relaxed oil drilling in the U.S.

In Biden's quest to artificially lower gas prices for political favor, he has sold off and depleted the SPR to a dangerously low level.  The SPR is at a 400 million bbl deficit, less than half the SPR capacity.  The oil sold is being used to keep prices down, but here's the kicker, he is using the profits to fund pet socialist projects.

It does not directly effect New Jersey, except for the third circuit court siding with gun owners.

I think more significant than the age restriction issue, is the court established that lawful firearms owners can not be denied the ability to pack heat during a SOE.  Whether open or permitted.  This affects more than a handful of PA teens.  It cuts off at the pass, the kind of gun confiscating BS that happened during Katrina.

it was on a checklist which I answered "No" and nothing further came of it.

I think putting "No" , instead of leaving it blank is the way to go.  It's not like they can call you out on it, and if they do, you just say "I started to write "none of your business" but got distracted and forgot to put down the rest.

I have not LOL'd IRL in a while, thank you for that.  I don't even like football anymore, but I never got over the cowboys beating the Steelers in 79.  So, this is really funny to me.

  7. *** Hey, y'all, this thread is in desperate need of updating.  ***

If you have recently used an FFL for a transfer, or happen to know an FFL's fee schedule, please post their current prices.

Important things to note.  * Does the FFL charge a nonnegotiable per-firearm fee on multiple transfers, * is there a discount on multiple transfers, * is the fee the same for shipped-to-FFL and in-state person to person transfers, * is the fee for handguns greater than that for long guns, * are the FFL fees and NICS all one price, * do they charge additional NICS fees on top of the standard $15.00?

Please provide the FFL name, location and anything relevant like unusual hours of operation, or "Ask to speak with Charlie for transfers", etc.

    Thank you.

Since we discovered Boars Head Low Sodium Ham it has been our mainstay.  Absolutely delicious.

Hatfield ham steaks are on sale, four 8 oz. packages for $6.00, it requires a digital coupon to get the deal.  I usually have a couple on hand in the freezer.  They are great for quickie meals like carbonara sauce, spinach pie, omelettes, and anything else I can jazz up with ham like a bowtie pasta salad.  Unfortunately I'm the only ham sammich eater in my house, so I don't often buy deli ham, It goes bad too fast.  After two days it looks like it collided with the Exxon Valdize.

without buying those pricey dehydrated meals (that I would probably never even eat).

The cost per Mountain House dehydrated meal is less than $5 per mouth to feed, and even eating an entire package at $9/ea is still going to be cheaper than whatever is available when SHTF.  Plus, if you have to transport 1,000 meals in a hurry, there is no easier way than dehydrated.

    Don't forget the pork roll!

I don't eat much pork roll at home these days.  I've switched to thick sliced deli spiced ham (not spam in a can), because it's just as tasty and much more reasonably priced.

You can bust clays witht them, but can you bust clays well with them.  That's a different question.

The whole idea of the clay shoots is to bring what ya got and break as many as you can.  Turning money into noise is fun, breaking small orange discs is even more fun, but the most fun we have is when we rib each other over misses.  We are basically tricking lazy ass shooters into improving their skills..

I had a good time at the range today,

Yanno, range reports usually include a couple of shot up targets.... jus say'n.

Is three gun now a barrel profile, or do you just mean the rig is set up for 3G?  Odin makes some fantastic SPR worthy barrels, in fact, I wanted an Odin for my SPR but they were virtually impossible to get, and prices were unreasonable when they did come available.  2014 was a challenging year to build a rifle.  I settled for a Ranier  stainless 223W match barrel, it shoots  good.

I noticed my LGS still doesn’t sell their Others with a stock…

As long as folks keep calling braces, stocks, the left will want to ban them even more.  Look, nobody here is stupid, we all know what's up with these "braces" that are not an SBR.  It doesn't help when people foolishly call them stocks.

and boy is that sucker sharp! Really! Made me a little nervous the first couple times

I was that way with the Japanese Damascus knife, mildly terrified perhaps.  Insanely sharp out of the box and a different style handle that I was not accustomed to.  I nicked myself several times when I first got it.

I recall watching some chef show many years ago, the chef kept saying "let the knife do the work for you". and suggested that if you have to work at cutting whatever it is you are cutting, the knife is either dull, a bad design or not the best type for the kind of cutting being done.  I didn't really understand what he meant until I had a superior quality knife in my hands.

    Thinking of picking them up.

I would think about getting a better quality knife. That youtube knife doesn't appear to have a full tang.   Zweilling or Wusthof is a good place to start.  My J. A. Henckel knives are 30 years old and as good as they day I unboxed them.

I also like Japanese knives, I have a couple, and they are awesome.  My favorite is made of Damascus steel, it keeps a very keen 12 degree edge and is well balanced.  Japanese knives are generally thinner, but the folded steel makes them very strong, like a samurai sword.

Good knives are like good tools, they make the job easier and are made to last.  But you don't need every specialized tool unless you will be doing that specialty very often.  If all you have ever used is an average knife, you will be impressed once you get your hands on a top quality knife.  There is a noticeable difference.
