  1. I would think about getting a better quality knife. That youtube knife doesn't appear to have a full tang. Zweilling or Wusthof is a good place to start. My J. A. Henckel knives are 30 years old and as good as they day I unboxed them. I also like Japanese knives, I have a couple, and they are awesome. My favorite is made of Damascus steel, it keeps a very keen 12 degree edge and is well balanced. Japanese knives are generally thinner, but the folded steel makes them very strong, like a samurai sword. Good knives are like good tools, they make the job easier and are made to last. But you don't need every specialized tool unless you will be doing that specialty very often. If all you have ever used is an average knife, you will be impressed once you get your hands on a top quality knife. There is a noticeable difference.
  2. You don't need a special knife if you are doing it only occasionally, but you do need a sharp blade. I used an extremely sharp Japanese kitchen knife .
  3. I did the same with a five pounder my wife picked up the first day of the sale. Sliced into one inch steaks for pan frying, then trimmed the ribs and seared, then braised em. I was not terribly impressed with the meat's flavor, but it was very tender.
  4. I would guess that NJSP has had to update it's traffic stop protocol.
  5. I know what I'm getting Peel for her birthday.
  6. Is this a side effect of the covid jab? Since when do dicks grow out of knees?
  7. Youtube is part of the Alphabet cartel, they probably know what you are interested in before you do.
  8. I need to introduce you to a real mule, my Stevens 311A 12GA at the next shoot.
  9. It looks more like a phishing scam. The hot link does not go to any website directly associated with Liberty Safe Co.
  10. This is where GOA, NRA and others should be stepping in. Maybe if enough NRA members from NJ call and demand that they do something about this, they might actually intervene. If the NRA won't help with situations like this, then why the hell do they even exist. What's the point in paying dues if you get nothing in return?
  11. The plan all along, the long game, was to get black scary rifles banned and then for the antis to say "oh, guess what, these blued steel and wood rifles don't look the same as those ARs we banned, but work the same way, they gotta go too". The AR was always just a stepping stone, one that would not rile up the Fudds with semi-auto deer rifles. They knew it would be a hard sell to ban grandpas semi-auto deer rifle, especially when so many grandpas at the time were WW2 vets with enough backbone to stand up to a total semi-auto ban in the 80's.
  12. The libtards should be overjoyed with the low carbon footprint of this amazing recycling program that costs cities and municipalities little to nothing. It's like, fiscally responsible eco-justice, man.
  13. Yeah, it can't be helped. Once again, the weather arrived earlier than forecast. Tomorrows weather was supposed to be Monday's weather. Yanno, I think, maybe Sunday has it out for me. Not gonna happen, the worst that could happen is it could work, and then I'd know I'm a god and it would go straight to my head. I avoid authority because it takes so little to corrupt me.
  14. DAMMIT!!! This is the LAST TIME, I swear, the last time I hire that Warren woman to do a sun dance for these shoots. Yanno, I don't think that charlatan is actually Amerindian at all.
  15. Okay, read the story, I call bullshit. This was a scripted pr stunt. That, or some crazy motherfuckers with mad skillz were drinking and talking smack and made a bet about stealing John Wick's gun. Either way, I call bullshit.
  16. That's an important clue. She may have used self rising flour that is higher in protein and already has baking powder in it and added the soda for additional rise. That's important because different flours give different textures and chewiness.
  17. If I understand you, it was more like a chocolate cookie with oatmeal, not a typical oatmeal cookie? Was the icing basic vanilla butter cream, did it have any additions like cream cheese or sour cream? Would you happen to recall if she used brown sugar or molasses?
  18. Can you describe the cookie in more detail. was it baked or a no-bake recipe? Was the icing store bought or home made, was the cookie spiced, was it buttery. Were there chocolate chips, nuts ect. Have you ever watched her make them? If you can give me an accurate description, I can probably reproduce it, or at least come close. I can bake like a motherfucker, it's a hobby I probably take more seriously than I should. I have to warn you though, even if you found the recipe it may be impossible to perfectly duplicate it. Sometimes a recipe can't be reproduced because nobody can make those cookies like your g'maw.
  19. Sunday Rain likely, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Looks like we will get to squeeze in one more shoot this year.
  20. If you end up getting a WheelyBird, fret not, they are very durable, my Do-All Flyway has not had a problem in 5000 throws. Because of the violent shaking, you will have to preform PM or just tighten stuff up as it gets out of spec. The foot switch does need looking after, they eventually loosen up and should be checked before each use.
