  1. Yes. If using an AR in any capacity is part of your self/home defense plan in FL, it will be beneficial. And, they're just cool. Maybe if you start showing up at FL ranges with suppressors, it may encourage others to do the same. I guess the gun regs in England are already very strict so almost anyone that wants a suppressor gets to have one easy peasey. Over there it is practically rude to show up without one. They very much value their hearing. EDIT: As a Floridian, you have access to many thousands of acres of feral hog hunting lands with virtually no limits. A suppressor would be nice to have.
  2. Check out JSE Surplus. They have an upper for every budget and have an excellent reputation. You can have them do all the compliance work and ship it directly to you.
  3. Looks like we will have at least three throwers. Maybe we'll do doubles again. It is the absolute best most fun way to throw away money.
  4. 12, 20, 16, 410, whatevah you want to bring, lotsa folks shoot 20's and do pretty damned good too. The only rule is shot size, has to be #7.5 or #8. That's actually a great price. I've been paying about $20-22 per 135 ct crate of White Flyer AAs.
  5. At these events we stick to a strict "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
  6. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, December 10th Clinton WMA Shotgun range 12-10-23 0900 There will be a pumpkin carving contest. Howdy folks. It's about time we get together to turn some money into noise. Come join us at the Clinton WMA shotgun range for a morning of clay busting fun. If you will be joining the fun, please let us know how many will attend and what you are bringing so we can plan for supplies. Shooting commences at 0900 and keeps going until we get bored, run out of ammo, or hear mom calling us home. Shoots usually go until about 1300, leaving plenty of time for everyone to stop in at any time and join the party. As always, these clay shoots are informal gatherings, just plain old fun to promote clay sports and encourage training, please feel free to bring friends and family. Shooters of all experience are welcome, if you have never shot clays before, or want some tips on improving your skills, this is your chance to dust off that shotgun you have sitting in a dark corner of a closet, and gain some needed experience. What you will need. Bring your shotgun(s), as much #7.5 or #8 lead target/field loads as you want to shoot, and depending on how much you want to shoot, a carton of clay pigeons would be great. Targets are usually available at Walmart in Clinton, Flemington, and Phillipsburg. Don't forget eyes and ears. Also recommended is a chair, sun screen, insect repellent, and something to drink. There is a port-a-potty on site If you don't have a shotgun and just want to see what clay shoot'n is all about, a loaner pump action will be available. Basic Checklist Shotgun Ammo Eye and ear protection (mandatory) Clay targets (optional but recommended for volume shooters) Shell pouch (optional) Folding chair (optional) Water or whatever Clinton WMA Shotgun Range 26 New Jersey 173 Hampton, NJ 08827 Attending: 1. 7. My mom was a psychiatric nurse for 20 years and I'd heard all kinds of fucked up stories. In a nutshell, ha ha, nut shell... anyway, to put it simply, imprisoning people for being crazy had become politically unpopular because of the horror stories of abuse at the "asylums". One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest had a tremendous social impact and put all mental institutions into question.
  8. How is the So. African ammo primed? Boxer or Berdan?
  9. Actually, freedom to travel freely, unrestricted, is a right. By extension, freedom to use any conventional means of conveyance should also be protected. Kinda like, "in common use".
  10. I don't think the OP is suggesting more laws will work. I believe the OP is saying; Just enforce the laws that are on the books now. If the bureaucrats and administrative departments in law enforcement did their jobs according the the laws we already have, Card should have had his firearms taken. The federal government and its subordinate agencies responsible for our security, particularly the FBI, failed America YET AGAIN!
  11. .In honor of Veteran's Day, Hodgdon is waiving hazmat and donating 10% of sales, plus matching straight up donations up to $5,000.00 to Folds of Honor. With NJ powder prices what they are, this is a pretty great deal. and a feel good deal too. Use code VETERANSDAY2023, valid 11/9 through 11/12. Hodgdon Reloading Vets Day Sale ..
  12. I'll be at Stafford Forge 0900 Sunday with @Air Traffic Controller and maybe some other family members. If anyone wants to join us you are absolutely welcome to. ....BYOP.
  13. It has nothing to do with whether I like them or not. The inescapable fact is that they are a novelty item, a sort of reliable device that sometimes simulates full auto. it is what it is, a gimmick. I just don't think that common use can be established.
  14. Can you give some examples of the nature of the hard time? What is the PD doing or saying that is preventing you from obtaining a duplicate card?
  15. I hate to play devil's advocate but, they really are not in common use. Bump stocks are more of a novelty, a gimmick. Full auto sears however, are in common use. How's that for irony.
  16. There is definitely some price fixing going on. Previously, any time a mouse farted in the middle east, prices skyrocketed, here we have the most significant event in a half century and prices are going down. If only we could buy gas cheap and stack it deep.
  17. LG HB4 18650 Lithium Ion 3.6V, 1500MAh, nominal charge rate .75A, Max charge rate 4A. Here's a link to detailed spec sheet. https://www.megacellmonitor.com/pdf/vendor_specs/SPEC_LG_LGDAHDB41865_ICR18650HD4.pdf I almost bought an Echo 16" saw that uses this battery pack, I'm pissed that I didn't as it was on display clearance. Coulda had it w/o battery for $150. I had momentarily forgotten the correct answer to the question "do I need this". At the time I had no pressing need because I have a Homelite XL 18" that sometimes works. Three months later we had a severe storm that downed a neighbors tree in my yard. Ended up buying a mid-range Echo 2 cycle 20" saw because I'm getting too old to fuck around with hard to start power equipment. Mad skillz. I built an intercom in 1973 when I was 9, I used to repair motherboards. I have to admit, I detest working with SMT, some components are so small now, the solder sucker tries to suck them in. The batteries are all in good shape, they have a lovely figure, no bulging at all. I was contemplating upping the pack to 4Ah by adding 14 cells to the empty "slots" but I use the trimmer so infrequently that it's more hassle than it's worth. After looking at the spec sheet, I feel comfortable pushing 48V @ 2Amps. I'll keep an eye (and occasionally one hand) on it while charging. Hopefully it will work out.
  18. The max output on the Echo charger is 4A, so I should be fine. I only need to get enough juice into it to wake the lazy bastard up. Honestly, for a $225.00 battery, you'd think they put in a cutoff to prevent full discharge. Another thing I noticed just by happenstance. For whatever reason I decided to shine a UV flaslight on the PCB just for whatever. The UV light is a recent new toy and the novelty hasn't waned yet so I'm treating everything like a black light poster to see what pops. It seems the pcb has a thin coating of something, probably some kind of waterproofing because it's expected to be used outdoors in the damp. Well, like I said there is no correlation to my reset issue, but the film is delaminating and flaking off. I give them an E for effort.
  19. As am I. The only thing I can think of is they got super cheap, I mean SUPER cheap, or there was a flaw in the pcb design and it was just easier to omit than to re run 100,000 revised boards.
  20. I've reached my limit for posting pictures but you can see the pcb in the first couple of videos (Echo 58 volt battery pack reset) on YT that demonstrate the reset procedure. It looks like a universal design used in It's dead flat, hence the issue of not being able to reset. Klein CL390
