I think it might be an early version of the geiselle mlok rail. In the pic I found the mounting of the rail is just like the geiselle.

The bev block has nothing to do with getting the barrel into the reciever. It's purpose is to take stress of the reciever when torquing down the barrel or installing a muzzle brake.

I soaked the furniture in acetone to get the cosmoline out of it. Then i lightly sanded it with 220 grit sand paper. I used about 8 coats of Formbys low gloss tung oil and steal wooled it with 0000 steal wool in between coats. I could have spent more time sanding it to get it a little nicer but I like the used look.

I would say the o-pap is the preferred version as it is the closest to the original m70 rifle that you can buy. But with that being said the N-PAP isn't a bad rifle as long as you get the newest version. I went with the O-PAP, and I really like it. I like that it came with surplus furniture, adds a little character to the rifle. Here's a good video that compares the 2 Here's mine.

N-pap has new furniture. O-pap has surplus furniture and also has a bulged front trunion.

I have no experience with any of those uppers. Only varmint rifle I had was a Rock River Arms varmint a4, It shot very well. Check out AR15sales.com he sells both stag and rock river and usually has really good prices.

LOWER- already have a Spikes Punisher lower ready LPK -thinking CMMG LPK $60 Check out Palmetto state armory. Their lower parts kits a g2g, and you could get them with geissele trigger, but they are currently out of stock TRIGGER- thinking Geisselle Super two-stage. $210 I would go with the ssa-e its a little lighter 3.5lbs and has a more crisp trigger break. Candy cane vs carrot breaking is how Geissele describes it. They go for 230 but i got it for $205 UPPER - BCM? only going by reputation would consider other quality ones $100 Any upper from a reputable company. ex BCM, cmt/stag, mega, novekse, seekins.... BCG - toss up with BCM/LMT/DD $160 Any of those are g2g add rainier arms to the list also BARREL 18" SPR profile looking at Beragara/White Oak / BCM $300 All 3 are g2g. WOA seem to be hard to get though. Rainier arms also has their own line of barrels that are suppose to be really good. MUZZLE DEV. AND GAS BLOCK - PRI OR YHM Gas block with integrate flip up sight Both of those seem g2g. Or you could get a low profile gas block and run a front Buis on top of the handguard Haven't really looked into muzz devices yet $200 for both I have the fsc556 it works well. HANDGUARDS- only specs I have are round free float modular...I've seen PRI/KAC and MI $250 ​Personal preference get what ever looks and feels the best to you. I have a Noveske NSR 13" its very light and pretty small i really like it. Bcm just came out with a new rail the kmr (key mod rail) pretty much the same thing as the noveske nsr but is suppose to be even lighter. STOCK - Magpul PRS or fixed rifle stock, will also consider regular A2 stock $70 - $200 for PRS I had the Prs and it just wasn't for me. I just run a Fixed carbine stock on my spr type rifle CHARGING HANDLE - like the PRI gasbuster but would probably be happy with BCM GF $45 -$100 I have the bcm charging handle and I like it. Another option is the rainier arms raptor charging handle. BUIS - not sold on any one yet... $80 The magpul pro buis look pretty nice. Also bcm is coming out with a new buis that looks nice OPTIC - here's where I know crap about nothing ... Probably would like to be in the less than $400 range I have the vortex viper pst 2.5-10x32 first focal plane. Great scope for the money, ($799 can get it closer to 700 if you shop around) has alot of features. They also have a 2.5-10x44 that isn't first focal plane that goes for 599 and has all the same features. Vortex has a bunch of different lines of scopes that are more in your price range also. They also have a really good warranty definitely worth taking a look at
