  1. Yes, believe it or not Federal gun laws still exist outside of NJ. NFA, GCA...922® compliance etc. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  2. I disagree entirely. There is way more case law supporting open carry as 2A component than concealed carry. Actually (and unfortunately) it looks like courts dating far back OK'd CC bans as being constitutional. Open carry has a much better chance in any federal court, regardless of its makeup. IMO Peruta would not have been the baby step we were looking for. It would have been a stretch, that quite frankly, did not have a solid foundation. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  3. Honestly Peruta didn't have much chance. Alan Gura talked about this in my GF's civil rights class the day I crashed it. There's a reason he stayed away from it. Essentially, Peruta contested denial of his CCW permit by claiming open carry is impossible. A pure open carry case like Nichols has a much better chance, and would do immediate good for states like Florida. It would also compel California legislators to allow concealed carry to shield fragile eyes from legally holstered handguns. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  4. Great concept even for us in NJ. If you run a fixed 15 round mag you can have all the evil features you want. Now if they only make these speedloaders take 15 rounds... Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  5. Just caught this. Only valid today. Berry's plated pistol bullets are also on sale. Use code 17CLUB516
  6. I take that back. I decided to give them a call and they said nothing is needed except for the sight, assuming the claim was submitted electronically. $15 flat reimbursement for shipping. May 23rd is the deadline for submitting a claim AND shipping the sight. The instructions weren't clear on the latter. I was hoping I could keep it on my rifle until the settlement was complete.
  7. I submitted my online claim around this time last month. No email response, not even a letter in the mail. When I ship my sight in, anybody know what documents I should include? Just my claim number and contact info?
  8. Thanks for clearing that up, Smokin’. Some people were suggesting that I was breaking the law by not changing my DL and FID over to my apartment address, so I became a bit concerned. My takeaway from this discussion is that the dealer will most likely NOT give me a hard time for my DL and PPP showing a different address than what’s that on the manufacturer summary sheet (last time I had a gun shipped back to me, the service department included a summary with my name and address listed on it). Furthermore, I am legally allowed to have/transport handguns to/at my apartment in the same manner as with my permanent residence. There is no requirement for me to change the address shown on my DL and FID from my permanent residence to my apartment.
  9. Bills go to my permanent address. All other stuff to my current address, including guns that get work done on them. This is the first time a manufacturer has issued a replacement, thus necessitating an FFL transfer. All other times I've just had a housemate sign for my gun deliveries (one of the reasons why I opt to use my current address for return shipping is that there is always someone home to sign).
  10. I'm hesitant to answer question #1 because I'm not too sure of the implications. Yes on question #2 and I still go "home" on the weekends. I'm hoping to move back in if I can find job in the Philly area that pays as well as my current job.
  11. I sent a handgun back to the manufacturer because it was out of spec. For the return address, I provided that of my current apartment, which is different than the address listed on my DL and permits. I do not want to go through the process of changing everything over to the new address only to change it back when I move again. Manufacturer was unable to correct the handgun and wants to send me a new one. Will I have trouble picking up the new Handgun at the dealer if he sees the paperwork from the manufacturer shows a different address for me than that on my DL and PPP? 12. That's not to say you can't bring your significant other to buy another 6 [emoji6] Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  13. I stopped in store today to take a look at these. About 25% were broken along the hinge. Still a good buy though as long as you inspect them before checkout. You can buy up to 6 per visit. Coupon code 23389747 exp. 5/31 Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  14. So what's the worst that can happen to you if you violate their policy and get caught? Your handgun does not qualify for insurance claims if it is lost or damaged? FedEx refuses to accept your packages in the future?
  15. Can you please confirm whether or not this policy carries the force of law? Can the OP legally ground ship (UPS or FedEx) a pistol to himself in another state? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  16. You can't use USPS to legally ship a handgun to yourself as somebody here mentioned. But can you legally send yourself a handgun via UPS or FedEx ground? I've only overnighted my handguns when using these carriers. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  17. Only rifles and shotguns. I used a flat rate box to ship a shotgun receiver and an AR lower to myself in AZ. Then back again. I took the upper and shotgun barrel + stock with me in checked baggage. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  18. Just ship it to yourself. It'll cost about the same as a checked bag depending on the airline. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  19. It should say "permits" plural to avoid the OP's police chief's confusion. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  20. Why did you have him drop them off at a dealer? He could have just held them for you and signed as the sellers on your exemption application; then met face to face upon the NJSP granting your exemption. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  21. Separate permit needed for each. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  22. My 2.5 lb. Netherland dwarf has free reign in the kitchen and laundry room. Absolutely loves to play around people and get pet. He doesn't smell at all; just have to change his litter box every couple days (cardboard boxes with pine chips or paper litter and timothy hay. I just throw out the boxes and make a new one from whatever Xerox box I don't need). Most rabbits aren't as friendly as he is though. Also I'm concerned about hawks snatching him when I take him outside. One of the reasons why I think I'll get a 40 lb. Flemish Giant next so I don't need to worry about birds of prey. 23. Hey OP does it have that shark fin antenna? It's the only thing holding me back from the newer generation Taco. Well, that and the price tag lol. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
  24. Only a few populated states are pistol perfect. (I.e. no licensing or registration of handgun purchases) Even PA requires handgun transfers to go through a dealer, and the state police retain those records. All I can say is be careful what you wish for. In 2013 Sweeney pushed a bill that would have merged FID with DL, required FID renewal every few years, and mandated that private firearms transfers be FFL processed and recorded by the NJSP (as in no more loaning a shotgun to a friend).
