Hello guys, I'm wanting to start to get my 7yr old daughter into shooting. I basically want to start with very basics and make it fun and teach basic safety. She has always been around my guns and she knows Afew rules. Afew people keep telling me she's to young especially being a girl, my opinion is teach them early and they will learn the right way, not by what they see on tv. What's your opinion? 2nd I am debating on should I start her with a BB gun or an air soft gun. What do you suggest? Models of anything would be a great help. I'm also going to have to try to keep the $ down as much as possible, any info would be a great help. Ty in advance, Joe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Modified Hi-Cap Magazine...

IMO, I would have to say you should be good to go. I,ve got a 30 round mag for my ar and I did the same type of thing, drilled a small hole into the bottom plate and then into the magblock which I bought and hammered in a roll pin. Now there is no way to remove the bottom plate and the pin is a oneway, no complete pass through hole. now my 30 round mag is only a 15 round mag. I think you should have no issues! -
you are going about this the proper way. Getting permission prior to doing anything, I'm in the process of getting my family business posted on this fourm which is HC Custom Graphics Inc. I do vinyl graphics, shirts, and many other items. If there is any way I can be of service please reach out to me. Good luck, I think things like this bring a group together. Joe

Barrel suggestions 16" or 18"/gas tube
cuznjoe23 replied to cuznjoe23's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
A big Thank You to Rick from OMG Custom guns, he sat and explained to me what he thought I was looking for, according to what I told him. He took the time to make sure I understood what he was saying. Rick spent 20-30 min. talking to me, and I can't tell you how much knowledge I gathered in that time. Can't thank Rick enough! Ps. A big Ty to chris for suggesting I speak to Rick Ty all, Joe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Will non-acetone np remover affect Cerakote finish?
cuznjoe23 replied to KyleKap19's topic in AR Discussion
1. I actually soaked a rag with thinner, and cleaned the whole area I was going to paint. (Let dry) 2. I used a toothpick to drip the paint Into the stamping on the receiver, Didn't go nuts, just enough to fill fill the etching, 3. I hit the paint with a hair dryer for a min. Or so till the paint skinned over. Let stand for 5-10 min. 4. Finally with a soft cloth, very very gently wiped over the paint to remove the excess paint from the receiver. The paint would remain in the lettering, and logo. P.s. It's really not very hard to do, it's more intimidating than anything. By the way, this was the first time I've ever done the coloring. So you can see, just take your time and it will come out nice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Will non-acetone np remover affect Cerakote finish?

I bought the testors paint and the paint thinner at Michael's. I used the thinner to clean/degrease the metal, applied the paint, flashed it with a hair dryer for a few then cleaned off excess paint with the thinner. Worked awsome. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I do agree, I will most likely buy/build over time so I can by better parts. I don't want to be disappointed because I tried to cut corners. I guess $5-$600 was wishful thinking. Ty for your insight, Cuznjoe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Total budget for build, if I can keep it around $5-$600 that would be good, if I can spend Jess even better. (Lol) but if I need to spend alittle more to have s gun that's quality and I won't have any issues then I'll spend. I'm looking to use the gun for long range target/hunting here and there. Ty for the info. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hello everyone, my question is, I'm looking to build my first AR-15 .223 but I'm working on a budget. The way I'm thinking is certain parts I can purchase on the cheaper side, while others I should not cheap out on. What is your opinions on where I should spend the $$. What parts should I not cheap out on. If you recommend any specific brands that will help with my build, the info would be greatly appreciated. Ty for the help in advance Cuznjoe
