  1. This will be interesting since SCOTUS has essentially ruled this sort of requirement unconstitutional. The NJAG's office will be in the position of either complying (unconstitutionally) or actually interpreting the law as unconstitutional in the post-Heller world: 3. The handgun ban and the trigger-lock requirement (as applied to self-defense) violate the Second Amendment. [**2787] The District's total ban on handgun possession in the home [bold]amounts to a prohibition on an entire class of "arms" that Americans overwhelmingly choose for the lawful purpose of self-defense[/bold]. Under any of the standards of scrutiny the Court has applied to enumerated constitutional rights, this prohibition — in the place where the importance of the lawful defense of self, family, and property is most acute — would fail constitutional muster. Similarly, [bold]the requirement that any lawful firearm in the home be disassembled or bound by a trigger lock makes it impossible for citizens to use arms for the core lawful purpose of self-defense[/bold]and is hence unconstitutional.

  3. This week people should CALL the number below - they are taking your position. Office of the Governor PO Box 001 Trenton, NJ 08625 609-292-6000
  4. The Democrats in our district actually go into the NURSING HOMES to get out the vote among the elderly. They're so entrenched in NJ it isn't funny.
  5. But with the Democrats working hard to disarm the public and increase workplace safety for criminals they may give up the practice, right???
  6. Here's a link for those who are interested. Be prepared to wade through a lot of BS: http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/media/archive_audio2.asp?KEY=S&SESSION=2014 Click on "VIEW" Not to mention having to listen to Sweeney ...
  7. There's nothing fake about Tench Coxe - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tench_Coxe "Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American . . . . The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people." --- Tench Coxe The Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788 "As civil rulers, not having their duty to the people duly before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow-citizens, the people are confirmed by the next article in their right to keep and bear their private arms." --- Tench Coxe (1755–1824), writing as "A Pennsylvanian," in "Remarks On The First Part Of The Amendments To The Federal Constitution," in the Philadelphia Federal Gazette, June 18, 1789, p. 2 col. 1 So what part of that do PEOPLE.NOT.GET???

  10. That does tell you where she's coming from, doesn't it? (in addressing the Senate Session prior to the vote on S993)
  11. So why does NJ law mention members of rifle and pistol clubs: f. Nothing in subsections b., c. and d. of N.J.S.2C:39-5 shall be construed to prevent: (1) A member of any rifle or pistol club organized in accordance with the rules prescribed by the National Board for the Promotion of Rifle Practice, in going to or from a place of target practice, carrying such firearms as are necessary for said target practice, provided that the club has filed a copy of its charter with the superintendent and annually submits a list of its members to the superintendent and provided further that the firearms are carried in the manner specified in subsection g. of this section; when they aren't treated any differently under the law?? Except to have their names sent to the State Police annually.

  14. Legal, so long as you identify it at the shipping hub as a firearm and it goes overnight as required by UPS and FedEx
  15. Nice job. You might also consider replacing 'flash suppressor' with 'muzzle device' and then split to legal or illegal based on the type of muzzle device. The ultimate standard, as I understand it, is a two-part test (NJSP): (1) What is the design intent of the device (compensator, brake vs. flash hider) (2) Is the terminal opening close to the bore size (can you stick your pinky finger in it - if you can it's a flash hider) This might assist someone coming into the state with a rifle already configured. A threaded muzzle is fine so long as a permanent (pinned/welded) non-flash-hider device is installed. Ironically, the one of the muzzle devices most often used as a NJ-legal device has an ATF letter saying that it's not a flash hider, yet it is advertised as being one.

  17. They have an official video recording - don't listen to it, you'll become physically ill from libtardiasis. Otherwise, the League of Women Voters does not permit recording. I don't know about the ACLU event Thursday.
  18. My question was quashed tonight by the League of Women Voters. I've never seen more naïve, stupid, liberal claptrap in all my life. NOBODY allowed to put forward a challenging question. All candidates spouting off about "the evil Tea Party" blah blah blah. At least on Thursday people will be allowed to ask real questions, "hopefully."
  19. Please note that Linda Greenstein is running for Rush Holt's seat in Congress and will be appearing at least twice in public this week in Princeton ALONE, with questions from the public allowed: Tuesday 4/29 7:00 PM (tonight) at Princeton Town Hall, 400 Witherspoon St. and Thursday 5/1 7:00 PM at the Unitarian Church of Princeton, 50 Cherry Hill Road.
  20. For the purposes of this section, "deviations as are reasonably necessary" means includes collecting and discharging passengers whose transportation is permitted under paragraph (2) of subsection b., subsection e., or paragraph (1) or (3) of subsection f. of this section, purchasing fuel, using a restroom, and contending with an emergency situation. A person transporting a weapon pursuant to this subsection shall comply with all other applicable State laws relating to weapons. Right?
