  1. Well I got an update. As per my ffl no long guns are registered in NJ. They say there is nothing to be done on my part. They did say I should keep all paperwork from the original as well as the new rifle. The customer service rep from the manufacture did not have answer but told me he would get one. I just received a call back from him and according to a supervisor there at Henry they are an ffl and they handled everything on there end. They also told me that the reason it took so long to send me a replacement (One month) is because they were doing the required paperwork in order to take back the faulty gun and issue the new. Thanks to everyone for their inputs. I thought this would be an easy answer. I did not anticipate the debate. So now I have a gorgeous Henry 357 Big Boy that I can't wait to get to the range and have some fun.
  2. I'm the one who possesses the gun. I will be contacting Henry and my ffl to investigate further. It really does seem to be a great big hassle over nothing I just don't want to be in front of the judge someday trying to explain it. Had to send a Ruger back once to be repaired they fixed it sent back the same one so no problem this will be from DS if I have to pay for the next just
  3. I don't necessarily agree that it's totally on them.
  4. I originally called Henry directly and told them of the problem I was having they sent me a shipping label and I shipped directly to Henry myself and turn when it was replaced they shifted directly back to me
  5. How do I go about filling out a new one
  6. First let me say that I'm not looking for legal advice. Perhaps a LEO might be the best person to offer advice. I received a Henry 357 Lever action rifle for Christmas. The wife did it right. She basically told me to go buy the gun and do all the paperwork myself. No need to transfer paperwork, which probably helps this situation. The first time I took the gun to the range I loaded it with the recommended 10 rounds. From the very first operation of the lever I was unable to feed a cartridge into the chamber. Long story short the gun was returned to Henry for repair or replacement. They chose the latter. Replaced my Henry another beautiful firearm and of course a different serial number. Because we are in Jersey with it such prohibited gun laws is there anything I should do to protect myself? I Still have the original paperwork from the gun dealer and now I have an invoice from Henry stating that my original serial number was replaced for one I have now.
  7. Sorry for hijacking the thread for some reason I do not have enough permission to start the thread
  8. This is a totally newbie question. Are quadrille forends for an AR 15 supposed to be off-center. The reason I ask is I bought a cheap ultimate arms 16.5 inch quad rail from Amazon. I bought it to dress up my AR a little but I would never be using it hard-core. It came with good reviews all Four & five stars. However when I went to mounted the tabs that would line up in the barrel not force it to be off-center. The barrel nut is tight and the gas tube is centered on the top of the barrel. I get it assembled onto the rifle I am either one notch to the left or right of center. This does not seem right to me. Am I doing something wrong?is there any adjustments that I could make? or is it just going back to Amazon?
