  1. Has anyone run into problems recently with out of state online retailers shipping ammo to NJ? I’ve had 2 retailers accept the order online only to cancel a day or so later citing the restrictions on shipping ammo to NJ, incuding one retailer from PA who I’ve had numerous orders of handgun ammo shipped to NJ previously. Is this a new thing due to Murphy? Or something else?
  2. I didn't get around to applying for my permit and decided to wait and see how the process settled out... Originally I was going to apply immediately (I have the earlier forms sitting on my desk with references on all of them, but useless now that there is a newer form) and work/travel got in the way…my question is, I did get my fingerprinting done way back with the code from my local PD, according to the FAQ on RTSP fingerprints need to be done within 90 days of application. Does that mean you have 90 days from time of application to get fingerprinted, and therefore my fingerprinting, done during the summer, is still valid for my application that I plan to complete in March?
  3. I tried a search but came up with too many irrelevant results, I started the process then held back because of all the changes that was expected, so I have not gotten around to the qualification. I’m looking to use Gun For Hire’s qualification, has anyone used them for their application? Just wanted to make sure it was an acceptable qualification for the CCW…Sorry if this has been answered already somewhere.
  4. Looking at the HQC on Gun For Hire, it looks pretty simple...one of the ones referenced previously included shooting from a barrier, etc. Is GFH oversimplifying it or is the HQC simply a test of marksmanship at various ranges?
  5. How can courses be filling up fast if the requirements haven't even be determined as of yet?
  6. I think Murphy will get slapped down by SCOTUS. During the court proceedings they specifically talked about public transportation like the subway with regards to sensitive areas and indicated that it would make no sense to prohibit carry in the subway as that would prevent people from the most common mode of transport in the city. Same for NJ...some people have to take the bus. Also it sounds like he is parroting the historically (and current) exclusionary nature of NJ's anti-gun bias where if you are not specifically allowed to have a gun in a particular location then you are prohibited from having a gun, so only ranges, your own home and a gun dealer plus travel between those permitted places is specifically allowed...reflected with his plans to require permission to carry on private property which would include most of NJ. Essentially he trying to make a CCW a CCW in name only.
  7. I'll take a day off from work to take it.
  8. Posted in the other thread about the Bruen decision thread...I called then went down to my local PD and they were pretty much ready with a packet they told me was updated this morning. They removed the justifiable need and resume requirement (remnant from assumed security guard need), and told me they were aware of the ruling. However they told me it typically goes to the county judge who they inquired as of this morning was unaware of the ruling and stated he would deny all applications. The officer told me he expected that answer to change by next Tuesday morning and told me they suspect that they will probably push for the approval to be done either by local PD or NJSP once they see the deluge of applications that threaten to overwhelm the judge. Coming is integration into FARS. I have the packet and my only question is there is 3 references on the application which is to be filled in triplicate, so do it looks like I will need to visit each of my references in turn to complete the applications. Only weird thing is I also have the pistol permit form in there as well, not sure why I need that unless I'm buying another pistol (never a bad idea...). Also waiting on what training course comes up that I can take to satisfy the qualification part of the process...
  9. I'll also post this in the CCW thread, but I called then went down to my local PD and they were pretty much ready with a packet they told me was updated this morning. 10. I called my local PD, and they said they are not requiring justifiable need any longer per the SCOTUS decision.
  11. Do you apply for the CCW through the local PD just like the pistol permits?
  12. The SCOTUS ruling included words to the effect that the requirements should be similar to the 43 states that are Shall Issue…although I’m sure I can pass the LEO qualification, it makes me think that it’s excessively burdensome compared to the current 43 states’ requirements for CCW and potentially could be shut down to something more in line for a citizen rather than LEO.
  13. Does the training taken when I got my non resident Florida CCW qualify for the training requirement?
  14. Written by another liberal college student who is wet behind the ears and knows nothing of the freedoms that have been built upon the shoulders of giants before him.
  15. If that was the case they could have just mooted it and called it a day. And why would they need guards and AR15s? Anti Gunners, outside of the Bloomberg elites, would never own something meant to "hunt people."
  16. All those unconstitutional laws were held up due to intermediate scrutiny of the lower courts. I believe they choose this case specifically to whack the lower courts with the reality bat and send them a message.
  17. This ^^^^ I'm dumbfounded by the posters who think this will be simply a ruling on about to transport a firearm in NYC and have it apply only in the narrowest way. SCOTUS gets hundreds of not thousands of cases in front of them to choose, why would they choose a case like this if to only help out NYC firearms owners??? It makes no sense. In pretty sure this is to establish level of scrutiny precedent for all the lower kangaroo courts in the land.
  18. What reloaderguy didn't seem to get is that ALL the states matter. The antis are coming for your Rights and your guns one step and one State at a time. I have residence in Florida and lots of friends there who are determined to fight the libs there who are horrified that we can concealed carry there. My son had some NY visitor screaming that he had a gun (gasp) when his shirt lifted up for a second and showed his Kimber... And she was horrified to learn that you can have a gun in Florida... Finally got straightened out that he was legal but she went away muttering that they had to do SOMETHING about those scary guns and people in Florida. In FL the Parkland kids are pushing to chip away at your Rights and support confiscation... Do you think they're (their behind the scenes Bllombergs that is) only interested in NY/NJ? If you do your naivety is scary.
  19. Yeah good luck with that... It's looking like refugees from NY and NJ and other blue States emigrants are pushing to make Florida into the NY of the South. I hope your positivity isn't infectious or Florida will be the first state to ban fully semi automatic firearms lol.
  20. If the colonists has the same positive attitude we wouldn't have to worry about this at all... We'd be the United English States and have the same great liberal gun laws! I wouldn't be surprised if they don't vote either because it wouldn't make a difference .
  21. Do you keep on top of the news at all? The legality of that filling is already being questioned.
  22. If all it concerned was transport out of state the antis, dems and several house members, as well as the media, would not be up in arms about this and running around like Chicken Littles spouting about the end of times. If SCOTUS rules that the law is not constitutional and that from now on laws like this require Strict Scrutiny it sets precedent to overturn many laws that indeed violates the "shall not be infringed" part of the 2A.
