Great quote! It was apparently in reference to someone complimenting his pistols with IVORY grips and asking if it were pearl. In fact, here is a photo of GEN Patton that hangs in the US Army Armor School and makes mention of his beloved pistols.

Also, what’s with the state posting an old version of the statute? This is in the definitions "Large capacity ammunition magazine" means a box, drum, tube or other container which is capable of holding more than 15 rounds of ammunition to be fed continuously and directly therefrom into a semi-automatic firearm.

I have a few friends that align left/center and are now applying for FPID / P2P in my town. They know me well and have asked ALL the newbie questions. I'm happy to help but was wondering if anyone already has an easily digestible NJ guide for new shooters. Something that helps with the "how does this permit work" and "can I get an AR15 in NJ" would be great. Also, does anyone else have good stories about giving advice or guidance to friends or neighbors during the past month?

That's how I did it but here's 2,000 words on that.

I ordered a set too. They came fast (typical for Amazon) and the refund processed a few days after shipment. All good on that front. The binos themselves are very good. I particularly like small features like how the dust covers go on and off. They aren't on par with my old Nikon 10x25 glass but these will definitely get use.

Aww shucks, I'm going to keep up the Beretta submissions. 92FS Compact Inox. I went overboard with the INOX upgrades and replaced every available piece with an INOX replacement from Italy. I then added on 92SB Compact grips with very custom modification to the inner surface so they fit over the larger 92FS hammer pin. I have a stainless magazine floor plate for the total look but it didn't make it out for this photo.

Nope, still the way it’s done and this is all still relevant. Those “composite scores” aka “line scores”, are the critical entrance factors for what MOS he can enlist for. For example, GT is the most important for those seeking to be officers. Make sure to confirm his qualifications with the recruiter prior to him heading to MEPS for enlistment. There will be a bit of a personnel hand off when he cannot talk to his recruiter before signing docs and taking the oath. If it were my boy, I’d want to make sure he’s qualified for the job they are promising AND that there’s a slot available for it.

One of the guides on the CNJFO hog hunt had a Dan Wesson 357 that he inherited from his father and plans to leave to his grandkids. That gun looked as worn as could be, but his eyes had a special twinkle when I asked him about it. Buy a quality piece and do some quality work with it; you’ll leave a better legacy than the guy with a museum quality gun in the safe.

I had a great time with some fine people. Thank you Rosey @Smokin .50 for doing what you do! I learned a lot and my kiddos are excited about bacon already. It was said that these hogs can be too dumb to die sometimes. I saw one dummy that took FIVE 12ga slugs to the head before dropping, and I had to put way to many rounds of 556 into my harvest before it dropped.

I’m in a similar boat. I shoot my LC9s Pro with the extension. My issue without the extension is that half of my pinky is on the mag lip so I can’t put pressure not relax it since my other fingers are working in gross-motor-skill mode. I do have smaller pistols such as the Beretta 21a Bobcat. I now instinctively curl my pinky underneath to act as a platform for the mag. It’s probably why I can deal with a half supported pinky on slightly larger guns.

Interesting. I’ll have to read the meaning of intestate succession but I understood you to say that “or by law” is meant to cover those mentioned relationships if they have been established through adoption and not relation through marriage. Is that about right?

I’m following this since I may be in the same boat one day. The only thing I’d add at the moment to @GRIZ is that I believe you to be narrowly reading the definition in part. @njJoniGuy is reading the definition in part and in whole. I see the “by blood or by law” clause to be an additional clarification to all of the aforementioned categories of what constitutes an immediate family relation.
