  1. Wow wow wow... that’s a 9x21 barrel! If Beretta is being honest with itself, they have TECHNICALLY assembled a “98X” with “92” scribbed on the slide for marketing and brand recognition purposes. Whoopsie!
  2. This is a good thread of opinions, but it is missing a very important one... mine! Beretta and the 92 are a brand of lineage. This 92X looks like a tremendous gun but also gives off a “twice the sex but half the foreplay” vibe that will turn off some of the Beretta traditionalists. My definition of tricking out a Beretta is below, where I got rid of all the black plastic bits and then hand fitted 92SB-C grips onto this 92FS “A1” compact for a complete stainless gun.
  3. My PPQ M1 is a sweet shooter that never even so much as hiccups. I noticed no one suggested the G20 to shoot 10mm and 40 S&W through the same barrel.
  4. Following. Looks like a good bit of kit for the money if the quality is there.
  5. Some kind fellow had one at Cherry Ridge with a cheapo scope and folding bipod and let me squeeze off a few rounds. I was shooting my scopes XT22 freehand just before and this was like shooting laser beams at 50 yards! I really liked how the long handguard allowed the bipod to be mounted so far forward. If I didn’t already have the XT22, I would definitely consider this.
  6. FWIW, you have a lot of good advice already above. I’m in the finance field for solar and can tell you that leasing is a waste for anyone. I’m happy to dig through numbers in PM if you have detail questions.
  7. PSA will definitely send this with a removable flash hider. As a point, they won’t swap any parts in their packages.
  8. Interesting that you got that answer. My understanding was that paper records of mental health were held at the county office. In that case, moving between counties necessitated the check.
  9. I just applied for permit in December and got them in January. My usual process has been to bring in the 2 completed forms to the PD, wait on references, then pay $2 per permit when I pick them up. On this last time dropping off the application, there was a new lady behind the counter who said I'll need to do the online background check. I replied, "Oh, that. This isn't my first rodeo and I already did that before. I'm sure its in my file." We exchanged goodbyes and I picked up 3 permits some 40 days later. $6 out of pocket, easy peasy. What I'm wondering is will this new system force the local PD to run that check, requiring me to pay the $20 each time?
  10. Id assume Easton. Pretty sure it would cost A LOT to fire off some rounds in Rahway!
  11. 124gr9mm had a great idea, but what would ACTUALLY be great is if you pulled the trigger spring out from one of those 32 revolvers and let me have it for postage before these get lacquered into an art project.
  12. It’s a bit of a segue, but the employer letters I’ve seen always made it clear they were for gun permits.
  13. Just as holding a faux-roundtable that is nothing more than a one-sides publicity stunt does not endear those on the fence. It just draws a deeper line in the sand and polarizes the voter bases. Aka, politics as usual.
  14. If the end result is that my wife buys food in bulk and I always have food in the house... am I really losing?
  15. I found a new 15ft chest freezer on clearance for $300 that my work. It’s big but we have young kids and also go through frozen pizza like locust. Might be a winner.
  16. I've been lucky with scoring used sets for my '08 JKU, now at 100k miles and just on my 3rd set of tires. I wore down the OEM 17" Goodyear Wranglers and rotated the spare the so I wouldn't be tempted to get another set. I then grabbed a mounted set of the 18" Duelers from someone. I thought those were great on the road and they did well enough in snow for me. I recently got a set of BFG Mud Terrain T/A and they do look cool but they eat a bit more gas and are a tad loud. If I had to buy a set new, I'd really consider the Duelers again because of their road manners.
  17. If you sign up, please PM me so I can make sure to say hi at the event. Thanks!
  18. That would only be for cars that allow you to program a key without going to the dealership. The security procedure requires that you use two different keys in the ignition back-to-back in order to initiate the new key programming mode. This prevents a valet or anyone who has just one key from making a copy. Of course, the dealership can go directly into the computer and do what they want.
  19. All you have to do is switch it to “ thinking about taking his PA compliant AR to a range in NJ” and the answer is obvious.
  20. Mods, please relocate if this is the wrong spot on the forum. Ladies & Gentlemen, I'm not good at soliciting for charity so I will be brief. For the last 15 years, the Officer Candidate class for the NJ Army National Guard has organized a 5k charity run at Sea Girt to benefit a soldier in need. This year is a special one because the beneficiary is a fellow Officer Candidate going through OCS with me. His story is one that makes me thankful for good health many of us enjoy: - OC Glaser supports his wife Haley, who has a rare form of cancer. To add to that burden, they are amazing parents to 4 young children. Health insurance does not cover all of their medical expenses and Haley is unable to work with her condition. The full materials are accessible on the website below. Direct donations are always the simplest help but please reach out to me directly (PM, email, phone) if you have other ideas or fundraiser opportunities to discuss or share. Thank you. https://www.sgtnutterrun.org/
  21. Getting all the keys is certainly a thing to be wary of when buying a used car. In the best cases, you need 2 working keys for the car to allow you to program a new one. It’s sometimes cheaper insurance to have a 3rd key made so you can avoid the dealership if you ever lose one of the original two. Here’s my experiences with a few FCA cars: - 2008 Wrangler uses a bladed key. I can have that cut and then program more keys into my Wrangler. $10 on eBay, Home Depot cuts for free and you program yourself -2008 Grand Cherokee uses that fobik, plastic key goes in the ignition. Extra keys can be programmed in, just like the Wrangler. - 2014 Charger uses a keyless fob, also has push button start and keyless entry. Cannot be owner programmed. $300 from the dealer with programming. There is a specialty locksmith in Ramsey who programs for $75 if you provide your own key. -2016 Town & Country, uses fobik but also has push button start and keyless entry. Same as the charger, cannot be owner programmed. (I’m going through this headache right now) The long and short is that there are alternatives out there to the dealer. It seems to depends on when that model had a security upgrade if you can program yourself or not. Overall, 2012 seems to be the cutoff.
  22. I have 2 pairs of Carhartt B299 khakis that just won’t quit. I affectionately call them my “executive carhartts” and have worn them everywhere from the range to the trail to my office (it was a stretch, but I didn’t like them anyway!). Naturally, they are discontinued.
  23. Between this and that stupid “10 year challenge” on Facebook, they got your DNA and your age progression for facial recognition. Oh well!
