  1. Jimmy Kimmel takes some blind folks to the range
  2. Why's this guy have a dash cam. Is that something that's trending and I didn't hear about...like most things.
  3. I've been a real estate appraiser for 20+ years and probably looked at over 5K houses. I tell everyone first thing you do is go down to the assessor's office and ask to see the property record card. Compare what's on the card to what you know. There are so many mistakes it's incredible. Extra bathrooms, finished basements where there are none, screened porches counted as living area, incorrect square footage, too much to list. In some towns (I won't name names) they haven't done a revaluation in 20 or more years and the property card is almost blank. They have no clue what's in the house. Remember when they do a reval. they do them in the summer and hire a bunch of ignorant college kids to go out an look at houses. They probably train them for a couple hours and send them on there way. Start you appeal process by doing the cheapest thing first. Making sure they got the right physical description is something you can do yourself. If it's wrong make an appointment to sit down with the assessor. It used to be that the assessor had some leeway to make adjustments to a certain point before the formal appeal process kicks in. That's my 2 cents
  4. I'm another Bridgewater resident that would pay higher dues for a closer alternative than RTSP which is where I'm going now Someone said opening up the membership is against the by-laws but by-laws can be changed by the board As far as the town looking for any excuse to close it down, I'm surprised by that comment. Bridgewater bends over backwards to be accommodate PP's and FID's.
  5. I'm not up on all the various cases winding their way through the courts so tell me how and when this happens, i.e. CC in NJ
  6. 50 rounds $4.69 http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/daily-deals/sellier-and-bellot-22lr-38gr-lead-hp-high-velocity-50rd-box-sb22b.html
  7. Very scary. Makes you think every time you go to the range. Never used to cross my mind. You see these newbies at the range all the time. Walk ins with no guns or experience. Makes you wonder.
  8. Welcome! I'm in Bridgewater and go to RTSP (was there today in fact). Probably a little closer than Easton
  9. I know where you're coming from but the F%@K is just in poor taste
  10. What? No Sons of Anarchy? I read The Strain a few years ago. I think it was a trilogy and the show follows the book very closely. Good show IMHO Ray Donovan is great especially Jon Voight
  11. Duh. Really?? Who'd a thunk it. Is the story false?
  12. C'mon; Of course it's a legitimate story. The stuff about the liquor license is stupid I agree, but a guy going to rent a handgun so he can commit suicide is a legitimate news story. Absolutely! You may not like it, but it's legitimate.
  13. Interesting articles. Didn't know this was a problem. Scary if maybe they don't want to go alone. http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2014/08/the-gun-rental-loophole-109687_Page2.html
  14. Saw this on slickguns 100 8" reactive targets for 27.99 free shipping http://www.pop-n-glo.com/
  15. Greg Gutfeld kicks it off the discussion with his editorial on conceal carry and the Philly girl who was charged in NJ for illegal carry http://video.foxnews.com/v/3691410333001/072214gunmom607/#sp=show-clips
  16. Do you have children Newtonian? As someone who has lost a child (at 17 years old) perhaps I can shed some light on the so-called Magical Misery Tour (I'm sure you thought it a clever turn of a phrase but it's really distasteful). Let me preface my remarks by saying that I disagree with the group on the merits of their arguments. But I fully understand their desire to make their children's lives stand for something. We can disagree with them without diminishing their pain. "Capitilizing on a horrible show that involved their children" Really? How do they benefit? What's their payoff? Their children are dead. Is getting interviewed on MSNBC or CNN the payoff? Just how are they capitalizing? Sorry, they get a pass from me even though I disagree with them.
  17. Bridgewater has been great. Less than 30 days for FID and 3 PP's. Then renewed one of the PP's; no questions in about 2 weeks.

    Any Bersa Fans?

Have a pistol permit burning a hole in my pocket and I'm looking at everything. Started looking at Bersas and wondered if I should stay away from any particular model or caiber. I like the pricing but trying to stay below $600. Any recommendations?
  19. I read somewhere that the 7th CD was the most conservative in the state. That's parts of Hunterdon/Somerset. Or was it most Republican? Same thing??
  20. Years ago - 10+, when I was doing home inspections I bought a Streamlight 20X. Still charges up and works great. Still use it when I let the dog out late at night to look for unexpected critters. Great product.
  21. I was over there today. Real easy to do business with. Nice place!
  22. I'm already semi-retired but my wife has got 5 years to go. We're already planning escape from the Peoples Republic and our $11,000 yr taxes. Probably Pa. where the living is much cheaper. I'm not talking right over the border but maybe 4 hours out northeast of Pittsburgh. It breaks my heart to leave Jersey but the politicians have left us no choice.
  23. I drive down Washington Valley Rd almost every day and couldn't find them but now I realize they're back by the old Warren Post Office (and the back of the A&P). Got a pistol permit burning a hole in my pocket
