  1. I would highly doubt it. Other than the legality issue of actually discharging the firearm you have the concern of contaminating the water. They wouldn't just take your word on the the ammo aND targets you're using.
  2. I guess it could depend on who's around, but I'd rather not push my luck. I don't want to intentionally cause any problems. With that said, I'd like to be given a legitimate, reasonable explanation as to to why shooting those rubber targets, at long range with a standard velocity .22, would be an issue. And by that I mean I would like to ask club officials. I appreciate all the replies I'm getting and I'm not disputing the answers I'm getting. I also fully respect the rules set by any range, however, I am curious why for my own knowledge.
  3. I've shot at central jersey a couple of times. It's by far the nicest, but it's a long ride and the fact that first year payments end up being $900ish I can't even consider it.
  4. Oh ok, sounds good. Guess I'll just have to make a monthly trip down there.
  5. Also, what about those self healing targets. I assume they're some type of rubber. Do you think I could possibly get approval for them?
  6. Ok thank you. Are there any places that would allow me that you know of?
  7. Thanks guys. That's what I pretty much figured. I somewhat recently moved up by Dover and I'm looking for a decent range to join. I was hoping that one of these outdoor ranges would allow me to do some "long range plinking", but I guess I'm more or less limited to paper still.
  8. I tried emailing, both cherry ridge and the easton range, asking if I'd be allowed to bring store bought spinner/reactive targets. They would be .22lr only and I would like to shoot them at 50-100 yards at Easton and 50-300 at Cherry Ridge. Only CR has gotten back to me and they said I can either ask at orientation or call the range and ask. Do any of you have any experience with this? Paper is getting old and I'd like to freshen up my shooting routine.
  9. Hey guys, I'm trying to get some shooting in this summer but I'm having a hard time finding fun stuff to do in my area. I'm really trying to find any type of rimfire competitions, however, I prefer my rifles. Also I'm not the least bit interested in benchrest. I'd really like to find some silhouette, tactical precision, appleseed, or sporter matches within reasonable driving distance. Right now I'm up in northern NJ right next to Dover, NJ. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!
  10. I recently had the pleasure of dealing with Steve. I now have absolutely no need for any other gun store in NJ. Steve got me what I wanted in a very timely manner and at a great price. We are already working on the next transaction. Couldn't ask for a better FL dealer!
  11. Thank you. I have shot the steel matches at central jersey several times so maybe I'll try USPSA over there too. Also thank you Pizza Bob for offering to let me use you equipment, I appreciate it. I'll hopefully have everything I need by the 13th.
  12. I wish I could but I work saturdays. If I thought of this earlier I would have switched my day off. For future reference though where is Shongum?
  13. Sounds good! Thank you guys very much and I look forward to competing with you one day soon.
  14. Ok cool thank you. I also came up with a few equipment questions. I have 2 Wilson 47Ds and was planning on buying more, but i saw ETMs suggested earlier as well as Chip McCormac...any particular reason I should switch from what I have? Also, holster wise I was thinking about going with the comp-tac international with the belt mount, good bad or indifferent?
  15. Thank you guys for the quick responses. So bascially for IDPA you suggest 4 magazines, 3 loaded to 8 rounds and one with just 1 round. I would be shooting a 45, but can I get away with the 8 round magazines in USPSA or would I have to invest in 10 rounders? Again thank you guys, it gets a little confusing looking at all the different rules and regulations for the different sports, plus not to mention people saying "well at my range we do this".
