  1. Picked up the address change FPID and 2 permits this morning after a call from a trooper last night. Actually got two calls yesterday... First call was in response to my second traditionally posted letter to the barracks with a status inquiry. Spoke to trooper during that call. Second call went to voicemail about 20 mins later saying, "We just went though today's intra-office mail; Your items are here. Pick them up any time of day" All in all this was a 6 month process. I respected the NJSP "protocol" for this and they were respectful, albeit very late on the whole affair.
  2. Called barracks this afternoon. Trooper I suppose was assigned to my particular batch of permits wasn't in today. Spoke to another Trooper in his station/at his desk. Guy was nice enough to look through things to see if my stuff was ready and waiting. Came back with a "NO". When I explained the situation, this trooper because profusely apologetic and seemed bewildered by the wait. Hopefully he'll have the other fellow call me when he returns to work.
  3. Thank you all for the advice. I'm going to give them a buzz on Monday and I'll post "results" late that afternoon. I am also under the impression that there is only one trooper assigned over at these barracks, too. Maybe wears many hats. Stay tuned and thanks again.
  4. HI All, I'm going to be vague here on places for obvious reasons, but I figure the replies should be the same anyhow... Moved to new address, new county in mid-January of 2015. Got paperwork squared away for address change from an old town issued FPID along with two P2Ps. Dealing with NJSP on this as my municipality has no police department. References were both contacted by PHONE within a week of submitting paperwork. No letters or request for email like I am used to. I also dropped off the check for the P2Ps at the time of paperwork submission, not upon receipt as I am used to. Anyway, I waited until August... 5 months since dropping stuff off to WRITE a letter with a progress inquiry. I was told not to call, or not to stop by at any time. Three days later a Trooper leaves a voice mail saying this process takes 3-5 months. Two days after that, my older-than-90-days check is cashed. This is two months ago. Do I roll by the barracks and say, "Hey I never got the letter or call to pick up the updated FPID and permits; I see you cashed the check."? I only ask because I just got a great deal on a new old stock 586 and I'd like to take receipt of it during this lifetime, Thanks all...
