  1. Started my son with Steve Winwood and Santana when he was 12. He just turned 17 and has seen The Pretty Reckless, Hales torment, Rush, Sixx A.M., Shined own and Five Finger Death Punch.
  2. Meh, seems high to me, you can get a LPK for a lot less and put the rest toward a decent stock and buffer.
  3. This thread got me thinking. The Rolex 24 is next weekend, great time for a TV upgrade. My old 50" Sony rear projection (720p) is pretty obsolete. Doh! Now I have to go shopping...
  4. So the good news is, no more inspections for my 86 Porsche. The bad news is that the roads are still littered with idiots that have one or more brake lights out. There is no longer any inspection for bulbs etc. because 84% of cars passed anyway so why waste time and money. Now, nobody checks their car the day before inspection so they have no idea that something needs to be fixed. When was the last time anyone was ticketed for a repair item? I guess speeding tickets are better revenue generators.
  5. I'll never buy another LG product, they're all garbage and the customer service is non-existent. Keep in mind that LG used to be Goldstar but their reputation was so bad that they had to change their name.
  6. Maybe contact NJ2AS? They did a series of hidden camera visits to a few municipalities a while ago and might be interested if you happen to have your phone in your shirt pocket and recording while you discuss this extra requirement.
  7. LOL, your foot must be heavier than mine...
  8. Could be worse. I got pulled over in Cranford about 30 years ago and, after running my licence, the officer tells me my license is suspended. Turned out it was suspended due to an unpaid parking ticket in Rahway in a location I'd never been near, and at a time that I'd been at work in Westfield. Right make and model, but my car was white, not silver. It didn't matter by then, I was cited for driving while suspended and my vehicle was impounded. 30 years later, I still have a strong dislike for the town of Rahway.
  9. I wasn't in the market, but now I want to support the MAP rebel...
  10. More resolution is always better. I find 1080p adequate, but more would be better. Pass on 720.
  11. Same here, but mine is 17 years old. I got it a couple weeks after my sone was born and he's driving now. Been through 2 shear pins (damn newspapers) and had a tire come off the rim once. Other than that, completely trouble free.
  12. I talked to family in Seattle yesterday, it was 79, sunny, no humidity.
  13. Wow! that's ugly as hell. Looks like there's almost enough rear headroom for circus midgets and enough trunk space for a banana. Thanks, but no thanks, I'll stick with my smog generator that can go further on a 5 gallon gas can than that can go on a full charge.
  14. GRIZ, I didn't know Dri-slide was still around. I used to use it for bicycle chains in the late 70s, great stuff, especially in Sandy environments. I'll have to try to find it.
  15. If I remember the story correctly, Abraham-Louis Breguet was asked by King Luis XVI if he could build a "perfect watch." He replied “give me the perfect oil majesty, then I give you the perfect watch.” I have watch oils that run $75/5ml and many watches use 4-5 different oils for different parts. Gun oil is cheap, buy lots of it and use whatever works best for you.
  16. THIS Look, we approved 50% more permits than last year. Personally, I'd prefer to let the judges and legislators do what they told Almeida to do, change jobs or hire a security firm.
  17. Think we should tell her about BB guns in NJ?
  18. Last I checked, this is still a may issue state, let them go through the process like everyone else. If that's a problem for them, well, they are the ones who can change the process. Let them change it.
  19. LOL, I imagine it would. A visit to my wife's nail polish stash turned up a bottle of pearl white and a bottle of glow-in-the-dark clear coat. I cleaned out the hole in the sight and wiped the area with an alcohol prep pad. Two drops of pearl white filled the hole and left it slightly concave. A drop of clear left a meniscus slightly proud of the surface.if it sucks, I'm out nothing but a little time (and I took a sick day today, so my time is covered) and I can just go back to the original plan and replace it.
  20. Thanks again. In this case, I'm guessing it was knocked off by UPS. I'd forgotten about it, but when I first opened the case I found, and discarded, a piece of debris. It looked like a remnant of a kids arts and crafts project. I'm enough of a noob when it come to shotguns that I didn't recognise a tiny white bead with glue on one side. Anywho, I just went to find a wrench to remove the existing sight so I could measure the length and order the correct replacement when I had an idea. Why not just fill in the empty hole with paint? I could even use glow-in-the-dark paint for a DIY night sight.
  21. Thanks Parker, the links helped a lot. Of course, that often leads to more questions. I seem to have a Bradley bead, minus the bead. Looks like it should be a simple matter of twisting the old one off and a new one on. Are there any details I'm missing? Tricks for indexing? Loc-tite needed? And to everyone, no offense was intended with the use of the word "infamous." Although I could not find pictures, I'd assumed it must be a poorly designed sight from some of the criticism I'd read, but it looks to be a pretty standard fiber optic. In all honesty, I actually like fiber optic sight, I might even consider installing one but I suspect the Bradley might work better with the mid bead.
  22. FWIH, some love 'em, some hate 'em, Ive seen more hate than love and there doesn't seem to be much middle ground. Maybe "controversial" would be more accurate. If it helps, mine seems to be a skeet model (says "skeet" on the trigger guard) and has a mid bead. Any thoughts on what I'd need to order?
  23. I'm new to shotguns and just got a SKB 505. It looks to be in nice shape (haven't had a chance to try it out yet) with the exception of a missing front sight. There's a "block" at the end of the rib with a hole in it (hole does not go all the way through) and I assume there should be something in the hole to make it visible. I don't know if this takes the infamous Ray-bar sight or a standard bead. Or maybe the whole block comes off to be replaced? I don't want to experiment and risk damaging something. Anybody here familiar with this part?
