  1. Hello all I am looking for a Double Barrel SxS Coach Gun, preferably with exposed hammers in 12gauge. thanks
  2. I was looking for a P38 (which I had to good fortune to purchase off an FFL in North NJ) S&W M&P 2.0 in Flat Dark Earth ( found on Gunbroker from a shop in FL) Ruger Redhawk .44 with 7.5 barrel (ended up with a Ruger Super Redhawk .44 with 9 barrel (found on Gunbroker from MN) When I was at Middlebrook a few weeks ago, you could see their stock was low. They had no shotguns to speak of at that time.
  3. Typical NJ, nothing ever changes. One of THE most unfriendly states to gun owners. And thanks to left, the rioters and the "protesters" guns have been flying off the shelves. My last 3 pistol permits I had to purchase the guns online (GunBroker, Armslist) and had them transferred to NJ as no one had what I was looking to get.
  4. I just put in a NICS check today, the guys at Middlebrook told me 2-3 days. That's Murphys NJ for ya
  5. Guess it would make too much sense to just use the Federal NICS, but NJ has to be special and have their own.
  6. I submitted last Thursday 4/16 and did not receive a call that it was ready until yesterday 4/21
  7. I went to my local shop to pickup a pistol I ordered on gunbroker. And one of the owners told me, NICS is behind at least 1-2 days. I wouldn't be surprised if this "backup" or "delay" is being done on purpose by good ole Toothy Phil
  8. I am looking to buy a Ruger Redhawk with 7.5 barrel. If you have any questions, let me know
  9. This post can be closed as I found what I was looking for
  10. The whole process is put in place to discourage law-abiding American citizens from exercising our Constitutional protected rights. The background checks I understand but the rest, the FID, the pistol permits are pointless. But its the govt, so it shouldnt surprise anyone.
  11. What i mean by approved is exactly what the emails said. What I believe it means is that everything is ready to go, just have to wait until the locals contact you to pick them up
  12. 1/1/2020 - I put in for an address change & 3 pistol permits 1/4/2020 - Reference Questionnaire completed 1/8/2020 - Criminal History Check completed 1/16/2020 - second Reference questionnaire completed 2/10/2020 - Contacted local PD if there was anything else I needed to complete, informed he will let me know when it was completed 2/26/2020 - Received notification I was approved 2/27/2020 -Received notification from local PD to pickup my updated FID and permits It took a bit longer than I expected but it was painless
  13. That does not seem to be valid email as it bounces back thanks anyway
  14. Hi I am looking to buy a P38 or P1. If you have any questions, let me know
  15. I used the new system for an address change of my FID and some pistol permits. I received the notifications regarding my references and the background checks. I put them in about 51 days ago, when I hit them up via email about a week ago. All I got was i would be notified when my permits were ready for pickup. Not sure how long this should realistically take or not. This is Bridgewater
  16. Is anyone not shocked about the obviousness of it all.
  17. Actually they can, they can ban the sale of the items it takes to do re-loads
  18. I use this link as its easier to see them all in one place: Proposed New Jersey Firearm Legislation Some of them are very, very bad with these two in particular. They want to reduce down the number of features that define an assault rifle from two to ONE. There is also mention of banning muzzle brakes. Proposed New Jersey Firearm Legislation S747 - Title: Expands definition of assault firearm. This bill expands and codifies those criteria to include more features. Additionally, under the current regulations a firearm will be considered "substantially identical" if it has a detachable magazine and at least two other features, such as a flash suppressor and a folding or telescoping stock. This bill reduces the number of criteria that are to be met from two to one for the firearm to be considered an assault firearm. The provisions of this bill would make the definition of an assault firearm substantially similar to the California law enacted on July 1, 2016. Proposed New Jersey Firearm Legislatio S98 - Strengthens State's assault weapons ban. This bill would strengthen the State's current assault weapons ban by revising the definition of an assault weapon to include: rifles with detachable magazines and one military style feature; semi-automatic shotguns with one military style feature; and semi-automatic pistols with one military style feature. The current definition of an assault weapon sets forth a list of prohibited firearms and specifically includes any firearm that is "substantially identical" to any of the enumerated firearms. Under State regulations, a semi-automatic firearm is to be considered substantially identical to an enumerated firearm if it meets certain criteria. This bill codifies these regulations while expanding the number of firearms that would be considered assault weapons by adding criteria and reducing the number of criteria that must be met from two to one. For example, under current regulations, a semi-automatic rifle that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two listed criteria would be considered an assault weapon. These criteria include: a folding telescoping stock, a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon; a flash suppressor or threaded barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor; and a grenade launcher. Under the bill, additional criteria are added including a thumbhole stock and a second handgrip or a protruding grip that can be held by the non-trigger hand. The bill also requires that only one criteria be met, rather than the currently required two.
  19. Love the P38, looking to get one once I my permits come through. I would take a P1 too
  20. Thanks Just so I have some clarification which I should have just asked first. The Beretta M9A3 is legal in NJ? I know its not on the banned list but it has one of those "evil" features (threaded barrel).
  21. But do you have to secure the thread protector in a manner so it cannot be removed?
  22. I've been looking to get an M9A3. Since it has a threaded barrel, how do you guys deal with the suppressor ban here in the PRNJ?
  23. Is anyone familiar with the CZ 527 ? I was looking at one in a shop the other day and they look nice but I've heard they have problems with the stock cracking behind the receiver tang thanks
