Hi all, I have read various threads on the site regarding AR-15's, I have been to various stores locally and sought information and I am certain now that I would like to own an AR-15. Is there a top 5 or 10 manufacturers out there that come recommended that either provide good quality NJ legal kits (not sure if kit is the right word) Any direction you could give would be great and I apologize in advance for any dumb questions.

Hi everyone. Long time no post. I just got my firearms ID and 2 handgun permits. I have coveted my online hunters course and will do the practice part in a few weeks. Can anyone recommend a good hunting a shooting club in North NJ . I live in North Bergen County. Really looking for a friendly group of folks and the ability to shoot rifle , shotty and hand guns. Regarding green card I will get that on 3 months. It's employment based and because of the job I do it takes no time. Going for my finger prints next week. I have actually finished the online course. I need need to do the practical part. All the courses shut down for winter. You a member at gun for hire?

BOLLOCKS as we say in the UK. Now I am pissed. Could have it all sorted. Grrr. No matter though, you live and learn. Just need to find a hunting partner or 2 to show me the ropes between now and April. Thanks for the info though. Very much appreciated.

Unfortunately I don't think your correct. I did speak to the State Police firearms dept a couple of times in fact the last time was a couple of weeks ago. They won't process anything without a green card in Jersey. What I have been able to do is the local PD stuff, background, mental health check and get finger prints, but the local detective can't send the app to the state police without the green card number. You have no idea how much I wish I am wrong and you are right though Thanks for the welcome.

I have done no hunting at all. Things are a bit different here. In the UK I was top of the food chain along the way I am hoping I can find some good people to go. Out with on a hunt and just learn. I am from North Bergen County. Allendale.

I would just like to take time out to thank Jimmy for the tour of Gun For Hire last Friday night. What professional place! I was little in awe if am honest. NY son and his freind love the place. Jimmy was courteous knowledgeable and very safety focused. He made me feel at home, I was not looked down upon for not having experience with hand guns and I left feeling that you really wanted my custom. The facilities were just awesome, I loved the VIP area. The place was clean and tidying . I need to seriously consider my next move. I am wanting to buy a bow, get setup with that but I also want to start shooting again. It's been 2 long years. The platinum membership would be just what I need right now and myself and Jimmy spoke about the benefits to me. I'll need to seriously consider what I do. I know if I go for gold I will wish I had gone platinum. But platinum is a big hit in the wallet. Hard decision.!!
