  1. So can I get a concealed carry in this communist state NJ??! Being in military I am target by ISIS. Now black lives matter stating now to kill firefighters because they are the same as police.....! 2 credible threats with no right for self protection. What's wrong here!! Law abiding citizen who serves country and community but can't protect himself.....
  2. Pretty disheartening that today I actually needed to carry concealed or even open to protect my family but couldn't. I felt so helpless, Today I took my children and my 12 year old dachshund to wildwood crest nj beach to pick sea shells. They were so excited. WE got onto the beach and we started walking towards the ocean when from out of the south side of the beach a pit bull runs toward us and immediately attacks my dog. I picked up my dog to get him away from this pitbull then he started attacking me. He also bit my friend. THe owner finally comes over to gain control of his dog. First thng out of mouth he says he was a cop! Honestly I don't care. MY whole family was crying, My dog was bleeding and I felt so helpless during this attack. I had nothing to stop it. THe attack lasted about 5 minutes. Yes 5 minutes because my friend called the cops because we seen no one in site. THe time until the owner got there was 5 minutes. I couldn't believe it. I was thinking what can I do to stop this attack. What if he started attacking my children and I couldn't stop it. There was nothing we had to hit it with. The ambulance came and the police and a report was written. We took my dog ti the vet. He suffered multiple bites, 2 tears and 3 broken ribs. He's 12 years old!! I felt so helpless. My family's life was in danger and I couldn't protect them. I am disgusted with this states inability to obtain a CCW! I have my CCW non resident in florida but it doesn't mean anything for this state. All I wanted to do today was take the family on the beach to pick shells and go home and color them with my children. It really sickens me that I am a law abiding citizen, served and still serving in the army reserves since 1986. Just got back from afghaninstan about a year and a half ago and will be deploying to Iraq in the near future. I not stating this to pat my back, I'm stating this because I am a reasonable man. A person who has protected this country for a very long time but when I needed to protect my family I couldn't. This is seriously wrong and unfair. I know I wont allow this to happen again to my family. I love this country and I love my family. I will protect both equally for now on.
  3. Was there any new updates as to ccw with a known threat to a person with in New Jersey? Wasn't sure but I thought I heard something about a specific threat toward someone ( Isis to military personnel ) versus a general threat. Probably nothing but wanted to see if anyone had heard anything. And the chances of ccw for miltary members in nj
  4. Any military personnel or veterans want to try to get are ccw permit for NJ for self defense against ISIS? Prob get denied at first but would like to see if we go in as a group of us if it would make any difference. There is a definite threat from ISIS towards us. Any comments?
  5. Hi I wrote this post while I was in Afghanistan late last year. I am home now in NJ and just heard about the 4 Marines been killed today. I am now rethinking getting or trying to obtain my concealed carry permit for New Jersey. Does anyone have any advice on how to apply for this and also if I should write anything. As a military member we are at a higher chance of being targeted by terrorists groups just like what happened today. I feel it is my right to protect myself in this country after serving this country. Any advice would be appreciated thank you
  6. thanks again for all your responses. It is appreciated. Is there anyone out there who would want to spearhead this ?? From the responses given it sounds like an uphill battle but with the recent threats to US military it may help.
  7. Hello Bonnevil79, That is great you have such a big group thus far. Please keep me informed! I would like to be part of your group should you decide to press on with it! I will be back in country soon. Thanks
  8. Thanks again. When i get back into country i will def apply for it. Yes there are a few vets from my fire dept who i could ask to apply too. Will keep you posted
  9. Thank you all very much for your responses and advice. It is appreciated. I will be back from Afghanistan end of Jan early Feb. No I am not rich as hell, nor a politician, or know lots of politicians. LOL.. I am an ordinary man with 4 children trying to make a living an serving our country on the side. I will apply for my license to carry concealed. It sounds like they will reject my application from what everyone is saying. I kinda like the ideal of many veterans trying to apply all at once. There is a valid threat to us servicemembers and our families from ISIS. This concerns me. I wished NJ wasn't so stringent on the concealed carry permits. All I want to do is protect myself and my family from these terrorist groups.I dont think its alot to ask. I truly think this is a valid reason to request this permit. Again thank you for all your replies. It is appreciated
  10. Hello Dave, Yes I live in New Jersey. Thak you for all your advice. I think maybe if we can have 20 + servicemen apply at the same time and get rejected. Maybe i would have a chance. Again I wouldnt be asking for a concealed carry permit but with this notification from my command about a direct threat to military personnel in our homeland really concerns me and feel I should be afforded the opportunity to protect myself. Thanks again for your posts. I really appreciate it.
  11. Hello, I have a question which I liked to post on this website. Thank you in advance for your replies. I am a US Army Officer presently serving in Afghanistan returning to the US in late Jan early Feb 2015. I have been alerted by our command that there is a threat from ISIS. The threat states that ISIS is targeting military personnel and their families on our homeland. Besides taking down anything that might alert people to me serving in the military such as facebook and other social medias, I feel I should be offered the opportunity to protect myself and my family in public if needed. I have owned/ operated many weapons in the military since 1986 when I joined the military. I continue to serve the military today as a reservist . I have never had any trouble with the law and have been an outstanding citizen in our community. I am also a volunteer firefighter. I do own a few hanguns that are registered in my name and have my hangun background card issued by the state. I have spoken to a few friends who say it is impossible to obtain a concealed carry permit in our state and honestly wouldn't try to obtain one but being here in Afghanistan and this recent email concerning ISIS targeting us in the homeland I feel I should be afforded the opportunity to protect myself. I see first hand how this group does not care about us and I don't want anything to happen to me and my family when i get home. So my question is does anyone think I have a valid reason to obtain this permit and do you think they may grant me one? Again thank you very much for your replies, It is appreciated.
