Any license that "supersedes" NJ laws?
TheWind replied to mjhvn's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
You want to be an RPO, not a LEO, if you have more than two handguns. If I was in my department I could only qualify with one or two off duty firearms. As an RPO I have 8 on file. So for only those weapons I can have 15 round magazines. Murphy had a very low turnout to win. That and a lame Republican candidate, get active. -
Should safety class be a permit requirement?
TheWind replied to JMich3's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
I have had a couple scary ones, but much less than at civilian. Safety classes at a range are a requirement, for a permit, shall not be infringed comes to mind. But the same for a mental health issue, maybe that is a good requirement. -
Should safety class be a permit requirement?
TheWind replied to JMich3's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
Last year all my range time, was RPO, it is so nice to shoot with a bunch of old guys that 90% know what they are doing, Shooting with people that have no knowledge, that scares me. Any time I took anyone out to shoot, it was a safety lecture first. But no mandatory class, shall not be infringed -
Therefore a Garand with a magazine is banned, I will stick with my en bloc clips

Any more of your bases left? I still have 10 AR and 10 AK.

1,100 pounds of wheat, shelves full of FD meat etc. now the work is a 500 Sq. Ft. raised bed garden and over dozen fruit trees planted. It is storage and production. If I can grow 40% of my food a year, I can build my stores up. Learn how to grow and can, the food in stores used to be a week, ten 3 days till empty, now they use JIT, just in time, that will soon change to whenever it gets here

The Ten round mag law
TheWind replied to EX Carnival man's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
The laws are merely the Socialists preparing to take over the state. Between them and Rinos, we are , well you know. We need to get smart, local level , county, state levels to reclaim our state and nation. I am an RPO, I do not like that there are differences between us, most of all I know that LEOs, RPOs and civilians are all in the same boat. Socialists want us occupied fighting against each other. I have also heard LEOs and RPOs telling their friends they will hold the 15 round magazines. -
In Law Enforcement we have those that make the rules and those of us that do the job. The special ones write P&P to protect the agency and they can blame us. I have been suspended because I did what was right. I saved an inmates life and was yelled at. I violated the rules because the Sgts didn't do their job and I was the only one available in the whole building. There are many like me, we will go the extra mile to protect people we do not know.

How many guns in your CCW rotation do you have?
TheWind replied to TokenEntry's topic in Concealed Carry
I have 8 filed with the NJSP, usually a Glock 30 or 21, sometimes a S&W 6904 or 659, maybe a Hi Power or one of my 1911s -
Apples and oranges, those cases are involved with domestic violence and one of a reported burglary. The whole premise is the establishment of a special relationship. If a restraining order created a special relationship you would need to go on a major hiring of police. Also the last case had major issues with the way it was filed, technicalities get many cases dismissed. Domestic cases are a slippery slope. I know of one where a friend was in jail for 17 days, guess what, his alibi was the NJSP. Another one charged with rape, was cleared when the plaintiff's own security cameras cleared him. School officers are in a special relationship as they to protect. If it occurs in front of me, I see or I hear and I have a duty to react. You tell me someone hit you yesterday, it is file a report and investigate.

My wife gets pissy when I look at her fuel gauge and it is below a half. As for regular gas in a car requiring premium? I bought my wife a Toyota Celica. Se had to drive it 60 miles home, she put regular in it...ran like crap. I told only premium, it ran great.

Basic concept of Alinisky, divide and get them fighting with each other. In the 90s I pissed off the State president of the FOP. He wanted to endorse Whitman, she was doing some antigun at the time. I stood up and laid it on the line, I will not endorse her as she is anti gun. The whole meeting went with me and she was not endorsed. We support your gun rights , you guys sound like antis compared to the cops I know. Murphy wants you to focus on us, not him and his socialist ways.

My old department allowed us one off duty firearm to qualify with. We are not allowed a back up. I would have been getting rid of any other magazine. I am an RPO and the NJSP allow me as many as I want to qualify. As for gun laws, most of us are against them. I am an NRA life, a lot are. There are those that want civilians to not own firearms. Yes, there are liberal cops, there are administrators that mouth the rhetoric of liberal socialist politicians. We need to stop falling into the divide of them and us. That is what they want. Are LEOs special? Well if being willing to lay down your life for someone you do not know, makes you special? Even retired, we can't get it out of our head.

That Sheriff's officer should be criminally charged. If it happens where we are present, we have to act. We do not have to sit in your living room and protect you from miscreants. We see, we act. As for the element of surprise, there are more bad guys that know me by sight, than I can count. Also something about walking straight, short hair, no facial hair, limits the surprise. My wife knows how a person addresses me if they were criminals or someone else.

On Duty I had to act, as a citizen you do not have to act. Off duty I only had to act if I did not put my family or myself in danger. But as when I training the County Prosecutor told us flat, if there is shooting and you do not do something, on or off duty...I will have your badge and more. Most of us, will always take action. Many of us will go the extra mile, my oath did not expire after I retired.

Apparently Greenday does not know what 'Shall not be infringed' means?
