  1. The FBI is bought and paid for by the left. And that....is a serious problem.
  2. The FBI dropped everything to run an investigation of Blasey Ford’s bullshit allegations of high school party’s 35 years ago. Yet...they can’t seem to be bothered to look into what would be the most heinous crime against this country since Kennedy was assassinated. Right... and there’s no deep state?
  3. Actually, that makes sense. What the hell would FBI be doing involved in this?
  4. They weren’t happy with the state of their covert data feed from the test sites and need some data resent.
  5. I haven’t gotten that far in the books. That would be good if they worked that out.
  6. I agree. 6 seasons is rare. Always disappointing to see a good show end early. From Jericho, then BSG, SG Universe... Even SG Atlantis ended too early at 5 seasons.
  7. What I find odd is that these series are a product that makes money. They (will) have an inventory of 9 books. Why they don’t utilize that inventory and make money on it. Its one of the best sci-fi drama series in several decades, yet...they are just going to close up shop. I think this is filmed in Vancouver for the most part, which allows them to pay shitty wages to everyone but the main characters. And sure...successful shows come with money demands from those actors and actresses...but they’re successful. Figure out the compensation so it works. Apparently, they have no problem writing our main characters. So it shouldn’t be that hard. I don’t get it. Not only do they make cash while it initially airs, its a money tree for years.
  8. That sucks. I went there in 2003. Still have a T-Shirt from the gift shop. It was a cool place. It was also used in the movie Contact and was a prominent setting in the video game Battlefield 4. EA boosted the size of the site and it wasn’t accurate in terms of many details of the surrounding area, but the dish and towers were very detailed. Ironically, if you shot the cables at their anchors, you could collapse the whole thing. And the sequence looked a lot like that real video. https://battlefield.fandom.com/wiki/Rogue_Transmission
  9. For those interested, The Expanse starts it’s next season on Dec 16th. Three episodes on the 16th. Then one weekly for the remainder of the season. Like most Amazon shows, they will probably cheap out at 10 episodes. Supposedly, season 6, which hasn’t started filming yet, will be the last. Although there are 9 books and so far each season represented 1 book. And Cas Anvar is out after season 5. Apparently he is accused of sexually harassing some women on zoom chats. Its not clear what that was all about. But does screw up the show as he was an integral part of it. Like Amos Burton said...”Who’s gonna fly the ship?” I guess I’ll get back to reading the books.
  10. first.... you have to have Chrome logged into your Google account. Then...click the three dots at the upper right. Then click Settings... Then... Under Privacy and Security. ...Safety Check box...”Check Now” it will tell you if you are not logged in for the Passwords check. As far as I can tell.. Firefox does not have this feature yet. I am told Safari does...but I haven’t used it there.
  11. If you use or have ever used Practiscore, you password there has been compromised. I don’t know when this happened or if this is old news, but Google and Apple report that Practiscore passwords and registered email addresses have been found on web sites where hacks are reported. So if you have an account at Practiscore, you should change the password. More importantly, if you use that or a similar password anywhere else, you should change those passwords. And as a tip... don’t use the same passwords all over the place. Use Dashlane or some other password keeper. Chrome and I believe Safari can check if any passwords you save in your browser have been compromised. Its a useful feature. Best to assume its an accurate report/warning and change what it tells you about.
  12. If anyone here uses Practiscore, any password you had on their web site or App has been hacked. I don’t know when this happened or if this is old news. But Google and Apple report that passwords from that site are listed on hacker sites. You can see this if you save passwords in Chrome. Chrome will check for your info in reports of compromises. Safari can do the same thing but I haven’t ever tried it there. So if you use Practiscore, and the password there is used elsewhere...you should change that password anywhere its used. Tip: Don’t use the same or similar password everywhere. Use Dashlane or some other password keeper to make life easier.
  13. Not sure why you’d need a 5000 series cpu. Want....sure. Need? If you’re gaming, a 3800x or 3900x is more than fine. I’d focus on a gpu and better display. Maybe you render stuff with Maya? I’d use Zync’s hosted rendering and get a 24 hour job done in 24 minutes. You get 300 host-hours free on sign up and the only limit is the job can only be spread across 50 virtual machines. If you just want the latest stuff and have money to burn..that’s cool too. I just built a new system today. Bought some of what I needed at Microcenter in Conshohocken, PA. 3800xt cpu EVGA 2080Ti (Newegg) 32 Gig ram 1 TB M.2 ssd Asus x570 motherboard HP Omen 27” 165 Hz 4K display. (Bestbuy) This display is incredible. Noticeable difference side by side with a 144 Hz Dell Gsync. Already had a new case and PS. The total cost of what I got at Microcenter was actually a little less than NewEgg.Prices But if you want the 3000 series Nvidia gpus or the new AMD cpus, you’re going to wait and also pay a premium. If you wanted a super high end gpu, I’d SLI a pair of 2070 Supers. But even that, imho..isn’t worth it.
  14. Yes. That storm was epic.. literally. Moved a train bridge over water and into the outskirts of town as I recall.
  15. Prophetic.... Show him the blower....
  16. That sucks. The guy is the image of strength and courage.
  17. We’ve had a well for 20 years. Was drilled/installed when we purchased the newly built house. Our well is 180’ deep. I’m told a replacement well pumps runs about $5k. I forget the size. Maybe 1-1/2 HP. Runs on 240v so requires a backup gen with that output voltage and at least a small manual transfer switch. See Reliance Electric for info on those. 7500w (9000VA) gens will usually a 30a 240v output. Cheap ones can be had for $750 plus. Something not made in China are more. Have been through 3 pressure tanks. $1700 to have replaced. Did the last one myself. $350. But draining the trashed tank was a pain. If your pressure surges at the faucet frequently, you pressure tank probably lost its bladder and you need to replace it or risk burning our your well pump. I am told the well should be sanitized annually using bleach. A 24 hr long process with no access to water until flushed. The rust/manganese removing tanks have a 15 to 20 year life. Twin tank replacement is about $4500. If you just need a valve rebuild..if its leaking...thats about $450. You can’t let it leak. It could enter a backwash cycle that won’t end. Thats a problem that will require your water to be shut off until fixed Then theres the softener. In Central NJ..rust is an issue. So you also need rust remover salt. About $60/ month if you have lawn irrigation on treated water...and you should if you don’t want orange everything outside. No rust... same softener. Different salt. A buck less a bag. There’s more...... Sulphur smell in hot water. Water heater anode rods will break down and generate a rotten egg smell in hot water for some well systems. Doesn’t matter if its an aluminum or Magnesium anode rod. Also...Removing the rod is a very BAD idea. Unless you want your heater to rot out prematurely and flood your house. But replacing it with an electric anode for about $200+ per water heater will fix it. Voids your water heater warranty but its got to be done. Bleach Injection systems and filter systems will not fix the sulphur smell long term. Bleaching may last a day or so. Water pressure. If you need good pressure for lawn irrigation Or heavy use, you need to plan in advance. Not always easy to fix with just a different pressure tank. The well pump has to be able to keep up without cycling too often. So for $60 to $80 per month for city water.....that you filter easily btw.... I think thats a better deal than a well.
  18. A400. I have one. Have shot Trap with it. Hard to come up with a negative comment on it. Get a shell retainer. I used the T&S from this article. Been a while since I purchased it but this looks like what I have. https://shotgunsportsmagazine.com/shop/category/shell-catchers
  19. Not sure about a model car but a friend of mind told me he often finds good deals in 55+ communities. Low mileage cars that are usually well maintained. Sometimes selling for a cheap price.
  20. The increase in the cost of everything is beyond ridiculous. We love going to Disney, but the price increases over the last few years has dimmed that enthusiam.
  21. Using the Freehold Raceway Mall as a barometer.... two anchor stores are gone. One more on the way out. About 20 percent of the smaller retail stores there are permanently closed. Area food establishments probably have fewer staff. Some have probably closed. I know a small number of people who have more corporate style jobs that lost those jobs when governors shut down businesses. They were not called back to work. Have we seen to numbers for lost government jobs? I think that number is about..... Zero.
  22. Looked at historical data. In 2018 we saw between 6500 and 12k new claim for weeks in this time frame. Continuing claims between 70k and 100k. Going back to 2010, the numbers were pretty much the same as 2018. For comparison. I think a lot of small retail businesses that were hanging in are running out of resources and the will to keep people employed. Other businesses may be shedding payroll in anticipation of continued slowness in NJ. But the numbers are still higher than other years. Not sure what all that means, but it looks like there are still issues in NJ. Site I used. https://oui.doleta.gov/unemploy/claims.asp
  23. Not if you slow cook it in brown gravy. I suggest sliced carrots as well.
