  1. Right... Weinberg.... too many assholes to keep track of. Like Barrack Sharpton.... or something like that.....
  2. Ok, never mind. Saw the discussion from 2014 in the Pending Legislation forum. Search on the bill I saw came up empty.
  3. Back in 2013 and I think into 2014 a bill floated around that apparently wasn't passed or maybe wasn't signed into law. It's summary said it clarified reasonable deviation during transport to include picking up or dropping off people, fuel stop, bathroom stop, food stop, and other emergencies. Seems like it ended up with a target of 15 minutes per deviation as best I can tell. Odd thing to me was that Loretta Lynch Weinberg voted for it and a number of R's voted against it. I looked it over and other than the 15 minute bs it seemed to be better than the current law. Anyone recall this? Maybe it was part of a larger FU to the 2A package ?
  4. You pretty much covered the options. Though "usually" means a grand total of once .... if I remember correctly. Going Rambo on the establishment would be dumb. End badly indeed..... But, you can see why the leftist are nervous about citizens being heavily armed. 1500 teenagers with rocks were too much to handle. Not that we'd ever do it....we're not thugs....we wouldn't do it.....but 50,000 or 100,000 pissed off people with firearms would be a serious problem. It's pretty funny that might be what's on their minds. Lol... Nice Rambo pic
  5. That's only a first step for Lynch and her pals. Rather than the UK, they prefer to model gun laws after a country run by this guy
  6. This one might be my favorite... even with so many to choose from.... Requires psychological evaluation and in-home inspection as prerequisite to purchase firearm.
  7. Any chance a moderator can change the title of this thread to something like... "Guns Shops Reviews - Good and Bad" EDIT: Thnx to whoever changed the thread title.
  8. Agree I got a little off topic. I also wonder if the NRA will actually support NJ in any meaningful way? If they did anything in either NY or CT...it wasn't effective.
  9. I think Christie would lose if he could run again. People are done with him. He an anti 2A lite, global warming supporting, do nothing about taxes and welfare kind of guy. I think either the R machine will just give up before the election and let a conservative run with no party support. A sacrificial lamb, or they'll find someone they like and put money on the line. But the party here will never support a conservative like Ted Cruz or Rick Santorum. Just picking some conservatives that come to mind.
  10. I don't think many, if any republicans have shown interest in running for Gov here. Steve Lonegan may try again. Chris Smith is a rino with a C grade from the NRA. He seems like a typical R candidate. Cassegrande is good. I'd support her but she has little name recognition across the state. If we know of an R who would be a good candidate we (as individuals) should contact them and tell them they need to run. If enough people agree on someone then more emails could help. But in this state, they need the blessing of the R machine. And that R machine has sold its sole to the devil. So.... There are a lot of hurdles to get over. But I'm not assuming that a dem is next. Oh...and the republicans in this state need a massive dirt digging machine on who ever is running on the left. They need to find every last dirty detail that will cause his voters will abandon him over.
  11. I don't see too many people registering, selling or handing in their black rifles. To avoid this, a massive and expensive get out the vote campaign is needed to turn the legislature red and defeat Sweeney if he runs for gov. Unfortunately, the only kind of candidate that will beat him is another RINO like Christie. And I can't think of too many on that short list. Chris Smith is one that comes to mind. And Steve Lonegan may want to try again. A bigger problem for republicans is if Cory Booker decides that he wants to be governor. He's a liberal rock star and will bring about a big turnout among dem voters. Another tactic....and the dems do this a lot. Every R in NJ should vote for the worst pick in the dem primary. Primaries have low turnouts. Serve up the worst dem and they are screwed.
  12. My wife, daughter and son are all going to take an intro to handguns course at GFH. I want them to have the best experience possible and think this is probably the best place to go. No anti's in our crew. Wife is maybe neutral. Daughter though...she is pro 2A. Her last paper in school was on how our 2A rights should not be infringed....and why. She's a sophomore in HS. Surprised I didn't get a call. Loved that she chose that on her own.
  13. Checko, I tend to agree with others who have said this state is hazardous for people who ride street bikes. I don't ride a street bike. Too dangerous around here. And that's coming from someone who races motocross bikes. Consider a beater car and just liability insurance. Every Honda I had went 150K miles before a single thing broke. Maybe an older Civic or Prelude would fit the bill.
  14. There were some negative opinions of what little we could learn about his plan, but there were also some that had a positive opinion. Seems like most people here posted that it was good that someone was doing something, but were holding their expectations to a minimum. As was just said.... It's New Jersey.... You're guilty until proven innocent when it comes to firearms. Seriously... That's the way it works. Plus, if someone is that motivated to do stuff like he is doing, he has to be able to take a little heat. God knows the shit he'll get from the antis will be far worse than anything he might see here. But..... It seems like there's no new info on this. Hopefully we'll hear something. Curious how it will be great by our esteemed judicial branch.
  15. On Magpul 30 rd AR mags pinned to 15 capacity (however they do it) the only exterior markings refer to being a 30 rd mag. I'm not sure how they block the lower part of the mag, but without knowing that, you'd probably render it useless if you tried to alter it. And these are factory sealed packages. So I believe they are entirely legal. But I would expect to be harassed in a situation where an over zealous LEO was in a position to be looking it over. And no, I wouldn't ever try to alter it unless the law changed to allow it.
  16. I think this person is the author of this lawsuit. I have to say I respect this guy's determination.
  17. I haven't read the whole document, but I think I get the general idea. His claims are probably correct. Here's the problem. This state's judiciary is stacked with activist liberals. Not one of them will respond to this by saying ..."Ya got us!! You win!!" No, their response will be "How do we squash this? It may be correct. But we don't care. It will kill our agenda. So we will just squash it." They did exactly that when Lautenberg was illegally put on the ballot after Torricelli withdrew. The NJ Supreme Court ruled that he could be on the ballot. Despite the fact that it was in clear violation of election law in NJ. So if this has merit, it will be squashed by some obscure procedure. After that, there is no legal recourse. It's why Obama has been appointing judges at breakneck pace.
  18. Welcome from Manalapan Chris.
  19. Joe, thanks for that offer. I may take you up on it. Wanted to get the NRA basic pistol done so I'm not as ignorant of the finer points as I am now. Not new to long guns. Just been away from them for a while and haven't shot a handgun at a range in probably 20 years. My LEO buddy's 9mm S&W. I used to hunt in Sayreville and parts of Old Bridge. And used to shoot compound bows at Broken Arrow if you know the area by the reservoir. I'm sure its changed a lot since I've been there. Anyway.. if I can do it, I'll PM you. Thanks again.
  20. Got zero... I feel cheated.... and where's my damn tiara?
  21. Tony, belated congrats on the new business. I saw on the site there's a rental link that's there but not active yet. Do you expect to be doing rentals immediately or is that a down the road thing? I won't have a handgun to shoot before late July. Mybe even August. I'd be able to shoot my AR and 5.56 bolt action but it would be nice to shoot pistols.... and try some out.... while I wait for the P2P. Thnx and good luck.
  22. No idea but hope to make it up there soon. Weird thing is, I'm in Central Jersey and Heritage Guild in Easton is about the same travel time as GFH for me. But from what I've read here GFH seems like a really good range.
  23. What's happening now is these legislators are writing the laws so they are open ended and judges will have the power to legislate from the bench. It's not a accident that they are written this way, then used. It's a plan. The "public health, safety and welfare" phrase allows for infinite interpretation. What's happening is WAY beyond what the founders intended. Same as "may issue" and "justifiable need". So if a judge determines that such a person should not have a firearm, why not remove his power tools, hand tools, baseball bat, 3 wood and steak knives? Hell, why not commit him against his will to a mental institution? All that takes is two doctors and a judge.
  24. The CZ75 has a few variations. B is probably what I'd choose. Grip looks a little smaller front to back than the Beretta's. I'll have to try one out. ShoreShot may have one. They list CZs in their rental line. The other ranges I was heading to don't have any CZs. Guess I'll be checking out some ranges and some pistols. Works for me. @MartyZ. Thnx for time line. Hopefully they're still turning them around in 6 weeks. Thnx again for the info and advice. Really appreciate it. A lot of stuff I don't know yet. All of this helps.
  25. Definitely plan to shoot those two and hopefully a few more before I buy. Thnx I think I read a few comments about the CZ. Hands are probably normal size. Though I don't like the feel of compact handguns. If the CZ similar but laid out better, it might work. Thnx Will take another look at the M&P. good news I guess is I have some time to check these and others out. Have to see if anyone has these other for rent. Wanted to shoot a compact version of something. Didn't like how small they felt in my hand, but since I have time I may as well try as many as I can. Thanks for the suggestions and advice.
