  1. Yes but in this way I am admitting that I owe the money even though I should not since I won the Appeals hearing.
  2. Does anyone know if this works in NJ? The idea is that by having a "Other Firearm" designation on the received you are allowed to have all NJ "Evil features". Any Ideas here. The whole concept is explained here
  3. Just trying to get some recommendations what to do next. Dealing with an Unemployment case from 2019 where I collected Unemployment for 4 weeks between 2 Consulting Jobs. The NJ state came back and claimed that for 2 weeks I should not be collecting Unemployment because of a missed time check for 4 hours overtime my previous employer forgot to add in previous paychecks after I left the company. I went through the review board on April 2020 and the outcome was that I didn't have to pay back the 2 weeks of Unemployment. They told me it could take some time until the records get updated. Fast forward 10 months later I am still getting statement for DoL to pay the money back. Over the last 10 months I have sent 4-5 certified letters to the DoL PO box in the return address and also had a Lawyer inquire about the same. I have also sent inquires to the Governors office and letters addressed to Senior Directors of the NJ Dol. I never received any response back or any kind of acknowledgement. This state is really going to Sh!t. Nowadays I can't even get anyone to pick up the phone at the Review Board office. It is almost that the state doesn't exist. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do next? Do they send to collections or they just subtract the supposedly owned amount from my next State Return? I have a legal plan with my current company and I want to also know what legal options I have because of this debauchery. I have worked for 23 years in NJ and I have only collected 6 weeks of Unemployment all this time and now they want 2 weeks back because of a 280$ check that my previous employer forgot to send when I was employed with them. This state is getting too ridiculous.
  4. Does anyone know how gun purchases are tracked? Do they keep a central database with all weapon owners? My understanding is the the FFL has a record of what you have purchased. Also when they run NICS they only care if you have committed any crimes etc. They don't really know what you are getting. Is this the current case for know or I am missing something. Do states also do their own record keeping of this is only at a federal level? Thanks
  5. Long story short. I have started to really worry what is coming in the next following weeks, months, years. My God daughter got into trouble into her school for posting a selfie my with AR in a NJ gun range a few weeks ago. Don't wanna give any details. I am personally avoiding(since 2009) to share ANY personal info pics etc on either FB or Twitter but these young kids today do not understand the dangers of what big tech is doing to their lives when they upload their day to day routines. Honestly only close family knows about my gun Hobbie and maybe 2-3 close friends who share the same interest. I don't have no flags, bumper stickers etc NADA. Now with the "Biden Harris" or "Harris Biden" admin I really don't know what is going to happen. It seems that they are planning some very drastic changes and very soon when it comes to the 1st and 2nd ammendment. I really didn't feel this threatened even during the Clinton or Obama years. It seems that a few days ago AR15.com and some other forums were dropped by their hosting companies. Is there an alternate way to communicate outside of big tech? From what I see there are allot of like minded people who are afraid to speak openly. I really don't want to turn this political my only concern is to be able to function in a society that will try to isolate us. God bless....
  6. I would like to see what Biden will do with his "Bunker" Virtual Inauguration where he doesn't want people to attent. We are heading for dark times.
  7. Honestly the way I think they are going to try to do it first is that they will allow Gun manufacturers to be sued and thus making them close business. Then second they are going to ban gun/ammo imports from overseas. Then they will hit the ammunition supply in the US by buying the whole .223/5.56 stock like they did during Obama and having to go through a background check. I think they specifically target the AR15 because there are many sources for parts and they can be fairly cheap to build. Nowadays not only we have to deal with XBOX Series X,S and PS5 scalpers but also with Ammo scalpers.
  8. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/washington-secrets/gun-control-first-for-biden-executive-orders It seems that the "President Elect" Biden plans to introduce executive orders to ban AR 15s as soon as he picks up office. Does anyone know how something like this would work? 1. Will they force all AR owners to register their firearms like NFA? 2. Will existing owners have to pay a one time tax and be grandfathered 3. Put a $600-$1000 tax on any new AR manufactured? 4. Tax and place background checks for any ammo making the process buying ammo expensive and time consuming? Lets hope that this never happens and Trump manages to proove the fraud Thoughts?
  9. Does anyone know which ammo calibers have the highest demand/supply issues? My quess is that 9mm and .223 will be the worst. Are there any demand issues with 7.62x54r, 7.62x39, 22LR? I am really good stocked with 7.62x39 and 22LR but only have about 40 rounds of 7.62x54r. I was thinking of getting a Taurus Judge .45/.410 shotshell but don't know the ammo situation for these 2 Calibers. Thanks Mike
  10. FYI. I just purchased a gun safe and to my surprise there was no sales tax on it. It seems there is a Tax Exception for firearm vaults in NJ. Futher info here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=ftp://www.njleg.state.nj.us/19981999/S1500/1342_F1.PDF&ved=2ahUKEwj_o-K1vZXtAhUkTDABHbksDzUQFjAAegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw2zN-_Qkdh_5BUu3vl9VkEx
  11. I am more worried about the "online ban" of Guns, Ammunation and "Gun Parts". This will put out of business many small indy manufacturers and online gun stores. Confiscation is the last resort but honestly I think Biden will take 1-1.5 years to wake up. But not so his handlers.
  12. What do you think will change with the Harris/Biden Admin for us in NJ when it comes to gun laws? The only thing I can think of now is that we will probably see an enormous national ammo shortage for the next 1-2 years. Do you think they might pass any drastic federal gun laws that could make the ownership of guns/ammo expensive? What are the failsafes we have for the 2nd Amendment? I think they initially will try to introduce a "peaceful" gun bayback program before they try to enforce anything. Thoughts?
  13. We are in the process of getting quotes for doing our driveway with pavers. We had a contractor giving us a quote initially for about 15k for pavers and belgian blocks edges and then we asked for the option if we could use our preferred paver brand which was 20-30c per foot more expensive than the Cambridge brand he was using. Howerver after getting the second quote the price was increased to about 22k. He had left the driveway price pretty much at 15k but he quoted us 7.5k for 150 liner feet of Belgian block edging which we though was way more than double the usual price at 50 per linear foot. In addition I had meaured the edging with a measuring wheel and it was 120 feet and not 150 we were quoted. Also I used the google maps area meaurements to measure the actual driveway square footage where he came up with about 400 more square(actual driveway is 1,400sf )footage than the driveway actualy is. So it seems he added 20% more linear footage and 35% more square footage. Needless to say we are also looking for other quotes. Funny thing a few year ago we had gotten a quote for 30k from a different contractor. The "expensive" material we are considering was no more than 5.5k for everything. Any recommendations when dealing with this kind of projects? Do we tell them the actual footage or contractors have their own method of measuring. Thanks Mike
