  1. Up for sale on this one is a set of Meprolight Flip Up Tritium Night Sights. This was another auction find that I never got to use. Sights are for AR rifles and the night sight functions work. Looking for $80 or best offer. Willing to meet up within a one hour drive from Woodbridge Twsp. Any shipping that's required is on the buyer. Since the listing is for parts No FID is required for this one. First to post I'll take it wins the listing.
  2. Up for sale today is NcSTAR Visim Rear Sight Adjustment Tool for Pistols. It was part of an auction find of mine last year and I never got around to using it or trying it out. Item looks new and has all the parts, but I'm treating it as used for obvious reasons. Looking for $25 or best offer. Willing to meet up within an hour's drive from Woodbridge Twsp. Any shipping that's required is on the buyer. Since it's tooling no FID is required. First to post I'll take it wins.
  3. Sorry folks, this item has been sold elsewhere. Mods please lock when you get a chance.
  4. Unfortunately I am not including mags as the old ones also happen to fit my current X-Compact set up. My apologies to you Mr. Stu.
  5. @GRIZ This is yours if you want it still. I apologize for the confusion as timestamps on everything were so close together on everyone's messages/posts.
  6. I'm sorry Griz. Someone had PM'd me earlier that I had forgotten about. Please accept my apologies. KCdave message received.
  7. Provident Bank still uses paper slips if you go to use a teller in the bank. I usually get asked for ID when I'm withdrawing cash, but haven't had a chance to see what they do when you're depositing cash.
  8. Ammo has been sold to @bossnagy I hope he enjoys it, it was good doing business with him. Mods can you please go ahead and lock this one out, thank you.
  9. Hello everyone. I have about 650 rounds of 38 Special of a brand called Zero for sale. They're factory reloads and are cast bullets (unjacketed). I'm selling for $10 a box (13 boxes total), $130 takes the whole batch. I'm located in Woodbridge NJ. FID and DL required since it's pistol ammo. First to post "I'll take it" wins the sale.
  10. Up for sale today are the parts need to make a Sig Sauer P-320 Compact with the 3.9" barrel. It's the standard style Sig grips with the M18 style slide, so it has the cutout for an optic. Has night sights which are still functioning. Pictures are in link below. Asking price is $200 for the set. I'm located in Woodbridge Twsp NJ. First to post "I'll take it" wins the sale. https://imgur.com/a/tYeCHUe Item Sold
  11. Thanks for the trip report. I didn't know the Super Guppy was still flying around. Stupid me had the opportunity to take advantage of a home that was rented by a coworker out there, but I volunteered to help my GF's sister move, who ended up just sending all of her meager belongings via UPS. I usually head out to Reno for the Air Races in September and I'm trying to get a trip organized since this will be the last year for it (gone most of the years since 2002). I'll be honest I never liked those arrival procedures where you're landing 2 planes on the same runway at once. There's been quite a few accidents with that procedure over the years. I've only been there once, but I'm looking to get back out there at some point.
  12. Anything that's a variable voltage device is probably going to have issues with LED's. I have ceiling fan lights in my bedroom, office, and living room. On my office and bedroom ones if I put all LED's in the lights don't always turn on when the should. Sometimes it's a noticeable delay, other times they don't come on at all and these are the ones that are advertised as "dimmable" (which is what I've been told to use). I found if I use one incandescent bulb in conjunction with LED's the lights on my fans function just fine. It's just a sick irony that in order to properly use these energy efficient light bulb I have to rip out energy efficient ceiling fans that I use to keep cool when an air conditioner would be over kill.

OK so I received an update from the Army regarding my pistol and it wasn't much. Here's what it reads: The following Information was found in the DoD Small Arms/Light Weapons Registry for an M1911A1, Pistol Caliber .45, Automatic, NSN: 1005-00-726-5655, Serial Number: 160XXXX. 1. July 20, 2010 – The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution - Anniston, Alabama received the weapon from the Crane Division Naval Surface Warfare Center - Crane, Indiana. 2. March 06, 2011, December 03, 2011, January 19, 2013, March 07, 2015, May 01, 2016, March 05, 2017, June 04, 2017, March 31, 2019, April 26, 2020, and April 25, 2021 – The DLA Distribution - Anniston, Alabama conducted annual weapon serial number reconciliations on the weapon. 3. March 22, 2022 – The DLA Distribution - Anniston, Alabama shipped the weapon to the Tank Automotive and Armaments Command Civilian Marksmanship Program - Anniston, Alabama. So at some point the US Navy had this gun. I posted a question on how to do a FOIA request to the Navy on the CMP Forum and they gave me the info to send the request. Here's the verbiage the letter should read I request that you provide me with all information found in the Department of the Navy / Marine Corps for the following: • Model 1911A1 pistol, .45 ACP caliber • NSN 1005-00-726-5655 • Serial number xxxxxxx I am willing to pay a fee of up to $50 for this information. Please reply by email to this address or by sending a letter to my physical address below. Here's the link to use in case anyone has to send a FOIA request to the Navy: https://foiaonline.gov/foiaonline/action/public/request Thanks for everyone's help so far.

Quick update for you @kc17 it's now $25 instead of $5. They actually emailed me and stated what the email should read and that was the one mistake in question. I don't think I'm going to get much out of them as their records only go back to 1975. Thanks for the help so far. I'll let you know what happens.

Just out of curiosity what was it on the same web site you used to make the FOIA request or was it on another web site? Also how much did you end up paying for your request?

    CMP 1911

So my number came up for a Service Grade 1911. Managed to get it in before the CMP put their temporary halt on sales to NJ (which has since been reinstated). I'm slowly looking into the history of the gun. It's a Remington Rand frame that's a 1944 build. The slide is where it gets funky, it's a replacement slide from the 80's made by some company called Numax Electronics. Haven't been able to find much info about the company or it's history other than they made aircraft electronics. The website Coolgunsite.com has been very helpful so far with my research, but there are still some gaps. I put in a FOIA request to the US Army in Mid-June for any info about the pistol, but I still haven't received a response from them yet. I was wondering if that's normal for them to take this long? Should a send another FOIA request to them or any other branch? I was also wondering where else I can go for self service research. The CMP Forum is absolute garbage right now because after two months I still haven't had my account approved yet. Thanks in advance. Will post more pics if anyone requests it.
  18. So it looks like the CMP has updated their shipping info and it looks like their recently added NJ restriction is now gone. https://thecmp.org/cmp_sales/eligibility-requirements/
  19. You would probably be good to go with regards to a privately owned, public or private use airport. A publicly owned airport that's run by some sort of airport authority may be where the problem is, especially if they require badging to be out on the ramp (i.e. Morristown, Teterboro, Trenton). Places like that are typically the ones that have prohibitions on carrying weapons and heavy restrictions on transporting them. I have Law Shield but I'm not sure I have faith in them to find the right answer (I've gotten incorrect information from the lawyers before regarding states other than NJ), I do wonder if someone like Yodice and Associates (they run the AOPA legal services plan) may know what the airport regulations are regarding firearms.
  20. If you have a local locksmith in the area, check out what they offer. As someone mentioned before, used safes can be a good deal and locksmiths will sometimes have what you're looking for. Bought my last couple of safes from a local locksmith. They may be a little more expensive but sometimes the extra service is worth it. I'm also a recent convert to the concept of decentralization, ie keeping safes in multiple locations, plus it allows you to use smaller safes. There's also things like Snap Safe and Secure It locking cabinets, which can be delivered to you, assemble it yourself, and if necessary disassembly for if you decide to move out.
  21. The CMP knows and they'll be adjusting their policy fairly soon from what I was told over the phone this morning from someone in the 1911 program.
