Bayonne Permit Extensions?
.357MagNYC replied to .357MagNYC's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Thanks! My issue though is that it's hard for me to get references (I need more pro-gun friends...). I don't want to ask these two again. We'll see what happens. If they won't extend, then I'll try for a OGAM exception. I'll report back on how things go.- 11 replies

Bayonne Permit Extensions?
.357MagNYC replied to .357MagNYC's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Thank you! I will ask about the extensions when I go to pick up my permits. Another option would be applying for a OGAM exception. That may end up being easier since I think it’s the NJSP and not local PD that approves those.- 11 replies

.357MagNYC started following Bayonne Permit Extensions?
-
Has anyone had any experience with getting a handgun purchase permit extended in Bayonne? I recently put in for 4 permits, but I probably should've checked here first to see how Bayonne is about extending them. Given that I likely won't get the call to pick up the permits until a few days after the issue date, I'm concerned I may be effectively limited to just 2 purchases in the 90 days. Thanks in advance.

NJ FID/PP Compliancy Project
.357MagNYC replied to Maksim's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Dropped off my FID change of address and 2 P2P's with Bayonne PD on June 10. Everything was ready on July 29. I think at least a week of the wait was my fault--I didn't include the money order when I dropped off the application, and when they called me in early July to inform me of this, my phone was having issues and I didn't get the message until a week later. -
Thanks. There was no problem with my out-of-state references in Bayonne. And they told me to keep my FID until I received the new one. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Congrats! I'll be going through that process soon. Quick question, since like me you moved from out-of-state: were your references NJ residents?

Bayonne Questions (FID, P2P, etc.)
.357MagNYC replied to .357MagNYC's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Thanks for the info. Will they give me a hard time if my references are New York residents? (NJSP had no problem with it for my FID.) -
Here's what you need to get a PA Driver's License: http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/pdotforms/fact_sheets/pub195us.pdf Tax records and mortgage documents should suffice to establish PA residency for the Driver's License. You could also show utility bills. Then you can take it from there as far as the CC permit is concerned.

I'll be moving to Bayonne from Brooklyn soon. I already have an FID with my Brooklyn address on it, so I'll need to submit Form STS-033 to change my address. And since I'm doing that, I figure I might as well apply for a couple P2P's as well. Has anyone else done a change of address on their FID with Bayonne? About how long can that alone take? How long does it take to get a P2P? Are there any other requirements from Bayonne that I should be aware of? (Are they really going to go ask my new neighbors if I live there? I read that somewhere on this forum.) Thanks for all your help.

Thank you all! Thanks. I have plenty of questions about the Bayonne PD firearms process, so I could definitely use any info you may have. I'm going to start a thread on Bayonne in "Current Gun Law Discussion."

Ha, yeah, PA is definitely the next step. I already spend a lot of time there as it is. Unfortunately, I need to stay close to the City for work for at least a few more years, so I figured NJ was a definite improvement over the boros.

Hi all, longtime lurker here, have learned a ton about NJ laws and ranges and FFL's from this great forum. Originally from Jersey, and I will be moving to Bayonne from Brooklyn soon, so I figured it was time to sign up.
