  1. IT'S NOT ILLEGAL! You can be offended and complain all your sorry self wants, but guess what? Cops can't so anything! Calling 911 over this is a waste of tax payer's money and ties up resources. This man should be charged for tying up emergency personnel.

If you can defend this waste of oxygen with a strait face, you are part of the problem.

The Flea Market was on privately owned property. If the market was on public/city owned land, it actually IS illegal to sell hate items like that.

Sorry if my beliefs aren't in line with yours, but that doesn't mean I'm part of the problem. Maybe THAT'S the problem. Settle down, man. I've got no beef with you.

  2. Newtonian has invoked Godwin's Law. Sheesh!

So you're saying it's okay to sell Nazi paraphernalia?

And if we live in this great country, aren't we free to complain about it if we want to?

I'm sorry, but why would anyone sell this stuff, other than to propagate hate? Is there any other reason to own Nazi flags and symbols? Unless you're one to do WWII re-enactment like some that do that for the Civil War.

If I saw a kiosk selling Swastikas and other Nazi tchotchkes, I think it would make me VERY nervous.

Truth be told. we DON'T live in a country where you can openly sell those kinds of things without some level of scrutiny. And that's a bad thing???

  3. I love the USA. Where we can debate such a clearly polarized topic freely and openly. Regardless of my personal feelings on the topic, if the people of SC vote to have the flag removed, so be it.

If stores want to remove this item from their shelves, this is the USA and they have no obligation to sell this item if they don't want to. If you want to be able to buy one, I'm sure you can find it for sale somewhere. You are even free to display it if you want. That is a calculated risk you can try out.

  4. One of the best places listed by headline and topic

    http://www.gunfacts.info

I took a look at this site and it is certainly interesting. I find their "facts" a little erroneous. I'm trying to find where a read that the statistic about gun owning citizens preventing 2.4 million crimes a year is a big pile of BS. There is no way that is true, and constantly quoting that on that website makes the other stats seem illegitimate, even if they are true.

  5. Spend some time clicking the links in the mother jones article to chase down the sources, and suddenly they sound much less impressive:

    Mother Jones:

    Source:

So, over 10 years ago they randomly dialed 0.00082% of the population (2400 people out of a 2004 national population of 292.8 Million) and those people who decided to spend time with a random cold-call survey spouted off their feelings/opinions.  What are the chances that someone who had no encounters with road rage would say "no, don't have time for this, bye" vs. someone who had encountered road rage and was looking to vent?  Any chance for respondent bias there, you think?.

What was the geographic distribution?  Was it even, or did they talk to 2399 people from Chicago and 1 guy from Nebraska?

Actual FACTS (police reports, FBI/DOJ crime statistics) used in this *SURVEY* - ZERO.

    Some fact-check.....

Cherry picking at it's finest. Statistics can say anything you want them to say if you dig deep enough. It's also a matter of causality.

I had a heart attack and I drink lots of water. Damn it!!! Water causes heart attacks!!!!

  6. Also, if any of you guys live in south jersey, Burlington county area, my avid 2A father-in-law owns a cigar store in Medford called Finlay's Cigars.

LOL, wow. One of our offices is around the corner and I stopped in there 2 weeks ago and bought some AWESOME cigars from him. Super nice guy, to boot. Small world!

  7. I am an atheist, but I could care less if the letter said god given right or natural right. I also don't care if out money says "In God We Trust" and I have no problems saying the word in the Pledge of Allegiance.  There is no need for metaphysical discussion of who created what and gave rights how.  I don't need a magical character or a fictional book describing the explits of said character telling me I have the right to protect myself.  Its a simple physiological response to a stimuli.  In this case, the aggression of another animal be it bipedal or not.  Should I choose to fight and not flee, I want to have the best tools needed to win the fight.  In most case, that would be a firearm.  Therefore, I have the right to carry a pistol on me if I choose to do so.  The fact that asshole elected officials feel that I am not worthy of self preservation is disgusting.  Their hypocrisy of carrying firearms themselves should be cause of public shaming if not worse.

    Brilliantly stated.

  8. If someone's gonna question my belief I am to answer it...I'm accountable to God. With that said, if the mod sees fit to remove these posts it their site.

I'm not questioning your beliefs at all. I'm questioning the place they have on these forums and in this discussion.

  9. Shall not kill...shall not steal....shall not lie....come on, you're joking, right?

BTW on a side note. History ALWAYS repeats itself. In Communist China, Russia, Germany, Cuba, N.Korea, etc all these leaders had to either REMOVE God totally or control it then eradicate God....why? because once God is removed government steps into fill that role...now what they say goes---no firearms? It's up to government to determine. You don't see that being repeated here? For those so against Christianity, remove God you remove all the "Bill of Rights" because those are only enforced my a society believing in a higher power. If God is eradicated, government is now your "higher power" and do you think they have your best interest at heart?

Aren't we not supposed to discuss religion on these forums?

    No, I'm not joking.

  10. If you didn't know, they're doping up EVERYONE with some kind of pill if they're under 30, or over 30, how many people do you know that arn't taking some kind of prescription pill?

You disagree that doping up the population and having a record of such would be an automatic red flag for FID? Why does the federal government want to pass more laws on guns? (especially mental health) Its not a "conspiracy" if its the truth.

Errr, I know MANY people on not one med. MANY.

It's a conspiracy theory UNTIL it's proven to be true. Good luck with that.

With that, I'm done. No reason to continue this convo.

  11. The five pills a day I take keep me alive. If it weren't for them, I would have stroked out long ago and not been able to continue to watch my children grow up. Bad genetics are a real bitch.

I like how you think you know what mental illness is and have the expertise to give any advice to anyone on the matter.

Keep up those conspiracy theories, though. Meds only exist to make money off people. They don't help anyone. Just like guns only exist to give criminals weapons. Please.

  12.

I don't think he needs them. I have no clue why he's "angry". He could be upset about some stuff but I really don't know why he's taking this shit. I told him to stop taking them over a year ago.

Maybe there is something he's not telling me but we're pretty close so I'd think he'd tell me.

LOL, I can't imagine you don't realize how dangerous what you are doing can be. Don't give out medical advice. You are causing more harm than you realize by trying to be a friend in this situation.

  13. He told me he went to the doctors and said he was angry and they gave him a prescription for Celexa. Does he need it? Probably not, but its a way for pharmaceutical companies and insurance to make money.

Wow, so I guess doctors aren't looking out for the well being of their patients just to make the insurance companies and pharm companies money. Is that it?

And if your friend actually has a mental health issue? Let's forget about that for a moment.Oh wait! Let's not, as he's trying to get a permit to purchase a fire arm!!!

  14. Docs don't get kickbacks for meds. They get kickbacks for referrals - to labs, imaging centers, other providers, etc.

No they don't. That's also illegal. There are some that have, but most know that they won't risk their livelihood for a few extra bucks.

  15. Yes I agree all doctors are not bad. Theres always bad apples in the bunch.

    Thanks.

You were alluding to the fact the only reason your friend got the meds was so that his doctors could make money off of him. Whether that is true or not, you aren't a doctor and have no earthly idea whether your friend needs them or not medically. Do you actually have proof of this? Was your friend's doctors in one those articles you posted?

  16. Would you like 100 articles about doctors getting arrested/charged for kickbacks?

Yes, please. Arrested or charged doesn't mean convicted. Innocent until proven guilty? One hundred doctors vs. the tens of thousands of doctors in this country, right? Kind of like what people think about us gun people? A few bad apples, so we're all bad. Is that what you're saying?

I'm not here to change your mind. I'm arguing your claim to make a point.
