  1. Thanks for the suggestions, which were all GLS. I called Safariland today to get the exact part number. GLS inbound.
  2. I'd like to give 3 gun a try next year. I'm currently on the hunt for a 3 gun holster with active retention, like the Safariland ALS, but they don't make one for my CZ SP01. Does anyone here have a recommendation? Please share what you're using.
  3. I need a barrel reamed out just a little to increase the OAL of a particular load. Does anyone have a recommendation as to where I can trust to have this work done? North Jersey would be preferred, but I can drive down to Central Jersey as well. Thanks, MM
  4. Gus does good work. He has a couple of custom 1911 in his own collection that feel like they're on ball bearings.
  5. I'm not a member at RTSP, but as often as I've been going to shoot there lately, I'm thinking about it. My wife and I enjoy shooting there very much, especially my wife during the colder months. During my last visit, I was told that the rate at which I was shooting would have to be as fast as I could go. I was shooting 6 shot strings at a USPSA paper target. Obviously, I'm not a fan of the "no rapid fire" rule, b/c it's sort of subjective. But I had no problem w/ the RO doing his job. I simply explained that they were all controlled shots, and that was that. I've never witnessed the irresponsible favoritism that started this thread, but it seems like it's been addressed. Cool. MM
  6. Anyone registered or planning to? Please, let me know if you have room in your squad. I'll bring of plenty of snacks. -MM
  7. That # seems to reach a "Diana Hays". Oh well.
  8. Does anyone have their phone number from a previous order? I'm almost done w/ my stash of 147 BBI, and I'd like to try something else. I know Ibeji is an in-state biz, so I thought I'd give them a try, but my pc's virus software won't let me visit their website. Thank you, MM
  9. Thanks for clarifying, Howard. At the risk of sounding redundant, new to Ontelaunee, or new to USPSA my first time shooting ever?
  10. I noticed from the USPSA website that the USPSA matches held at Ontelaunee are held over the weekend of the 4th Sunday of the month, including the preceding Saturday [of the 4th Sunday]. Does that mean that two separate matches are held (one on each day), or is it the same match held over two days w/ one squad shooting on Saturday and another squad on Sunday, or does it mean that it's a single match held over two days and the shooters have to attend both days? Could someone kindly clarify? Thanks, MM
  11. Thanks, guys. I think both those base pads are for the STI-style 140mm magazines, which would already fit 17 .40 s&w rounds.
  12. Hey, gang. Quick question: for those of you shooting an STI 2011 pistol in .40 s&w for Limited Division, I'm assuming y'all are using the 126mm magazines. STI's website says the magazine holds 14 rounds. As NJ's mag capacity restriction is 15, are you making any mods to the mag to hold that extra round, or are you just shooting the magazine as is, satisfied with the 14 round capacity? Thanks, MM
  13. Great, thanks for the suggestions, gentlemen. I'll make sure bring some healthy calories along w/ me on every match from now on. Water of course, too.
  14. So, I noticed a few people snarfing down their dinners right before last week's RTSP match. Understandable, as the match is scheduled right in the middle of most people's suppertime window. But what about during the morning matches, which most are, i.e. Shongum and Old Bridge? I live about 45 min away from Shongum, and if I want to make it out early enough to help set up the stages by 8 am or so, I'm eating my breakfast at 6:30 am and out the door by 7 am. These morning matches get out at around 4pm, right? Are most of you guys brown bagging a lunch, or consuming trail mix and energy bars throughout the day? Let me know, MM
  15. Bob, I appreciate your comments. I don't take your comments harshly. Safety is critical, no exceptions. -MM
  16. And I hope you're back on your feet soon. Looking forward to meeting you at one of the matches.
  17. Yes! Totally want to do that. I almost have to go extra, super slow b/c it all just felt like an out of body experience. I think I have to learn in the moment a little better and not get overwhelmed by the excitement.
  18. My write from another forum. Wanted to share with you guys, too. Well, I shot my first match yesterday. Man, it was the bestest gee golly whiz, gosh darn it, giddy up, spin your partner, adrenaline pumping, hair raising, eye popping, time freezing, funnest thing I've done in a long time. Ummm, not that I don't enjoy dates with my wife, or watching my kids grow up. I really do. It's just different....right? Oh, crap, I had so much fun. So, as a new shooter, I've gotta say, the absolute best part of the evening, though the shooting itself was extremely fun, was introducing my introverted self to some awesome people and fellow shooters. They were from all walks of life: different ages, ethnicities, jobs, etc. Just as eclectic were their preferences on pistols and gear, which was also cool to see. Man, up close those Open division guns really do look like some sort of space age stunners. One young gentleman didn't mind spending most of the evening just chatting it up with me. It's obvious that he really enjoys this sport. But really, everyone was very friendly. I also learned a lot about myself. I never realized how competitive I am. As much as I tried to be careful and take it slow, once the buzzer went off, I just wanted to do well. That awakened me to another thing: learning how to control my physical properties and conscious thoughts when my nerves and adrenaline kick in. All in all, I'm pretty much addicted to USPSA and shooting sports. Time will be my biggest restriction, as I'm a devoted Christian and family man. The LORD and my family will always get the best of my time. But with any spare time I can afford, I am going to spend it trying to improve my shooting skills. I know it's a big mountain to climb, but those are the ones I like climbing. All the best, MM EDITED**
  19. Thanks, Louu. What seems to be the more popular caliber for NDS, 9mm or .40? If I attend future matches, I'd like to bring the propper equipment.
  20. If you are, what's your magazine/base pad, total capacity set up for Limited Division? Thanks, MM
