  1. UPDATE: Hello ladies and gents. So I finally made up my mind and got the CZ P-07 gen 2. In all honesty, it all came down to the pricing, and boy am I glad I got it. This is one serious and well built firearm and I am not disappointed AT ALL! I paid a visit to Caso's Gun in Jersey City and that store is great! Everything from the owner, to the employees, to the vibe was something of an experience. It is a very homey place and I didn't feel rushed or pressured, even just window shopping at the time. And not to mention the tax rate is 3.5%, which was the icing on the cake. Thank you everyone once again for the info and insight. I am sure I will have more questions and need more advice along the way, as this CZ surely will not be the be-all, end-all. I will be adding to my collection. Now that I have to wait till February of next year for my next purchase, I am going to begin my first AR build. Thanks again everyone!
  2. I have cycled through 1000 rounds of FM reman 9mm through my vp9 and not a single hiccup. In fact I find it to be more accurate then any other ammo I have shot, which includes Blazer, Remington and Speer lawman's. I still have about 1500 rounds of the reman left, so hopefully I didn't jinx it. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  3. That is a beauty. I have never held or shot a p07, so I can't comment on it. I just know that when that sales rep put that sig 229 legion in my palms, it was done. Just everything about the legion felt "right". Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  4. No its not because I want polymer. It's all about the pricing. The cz p-01 seems to be over 100 dollars more then the 07. I've held the p07 and it does feel well made, solid. But for my second pistol pricing is a huge factor. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  5. Oh man. That is what I am saving my 3rd permit for and cash of course. Well the p229 Legion. I held one at the range and it was love at first grope. It was like I just pulled Excalibur out of a damn rock. Also did I mention I dig that gun alot? Lol. But with a $1300 price tag, after taxes and nics. It would have to be a tax refund present. 6. The advice has been tremendous and great, thank you all so much for the insight. With all that being said I have limited my choices down to 2. [Drum roll] It is now officially a toss up between the CZ 75 P-07 and the Sig sp2022. I will take a stroll to the range and try it out this weekend or the next. The others are still a plan to own in the future but for now, I am focusing mainly on pricing and the bang for the buck. Like any other hobbies, you can't just have one. Besides you're right carl_g, I already have a great striker fired pistol, which is also why it came down to those 2 choices. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  7. I drank the kool-aid and now I am here. But seriously it is such a change of pace, and all the perks make it great. Ever tried to find parking in NYC or any of the 5 boroughs after work or a night out? It's horrific. Now I just come home pull my car into a driveway and relax. That's one of the major perks. 8. I have rented their guns. But again, since they've gone through so many hands it's hard to compare them to someone who babies and care for their personal firearms. I eventually will get a P229 and actually fell in love with the legion edition but since price is the factor here I am just looking for something way cheaper. My 3rd permit will go towards a non polymer gun, with the P229 in mind. It just gives me a little more time to save up for it. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  9. Just for my personal knowledge, why wouldn't you recommend it? Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  10. For my first I was very torn between the vp9 and the ppq. It took a while to decide, but through reviews and advice from people at rtsp I chose the vp9, only because it was able to shoot more brands of including the cheaper ones. However, the ppq has the best trigger which I agree. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  11. Thank you all so much for the insight. I have been shooting prior to my FID, not a lot but enough to be considered above a newbie. I do eventually want to get my CCP for other states and don't mind a compact (I also have small hands). There were no bad advice givem here and believe me I take everything into consideration and learn from it. I am a frequent at rtsp and have gone quite a bit learning my vp9, and have rent a few while there, but because they were rentals, it has been through quite a lot. I have shot every gum on the list except for the sp2022, but most people say I can't go wrong with a sig. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  12. Hi everyone. So I recently got my FID and 3 permits, needless to say I am new to this scene and absolutely loving it. I got my VP9 as my first purchase and looking to burn my second permit, but it has been a very tough decision, so hopefully someone more experienced can chime in and make the decision easier. I am tossed up between the following pistols: Springfield XD MOD 3” Subcompact 9MM Glock 19 G4 CZ P-07 3.8” Sigpro 2022 I mainly plan on using them as home defense and range shooting. I am trying to keep it budgeted as the holidays are coming near, so even if you know of a used one, I may be interested. Thanks in advance. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah ain't that truth. It is also easier in NJ to excersise my 2nd amendment. I do miss NY from time to time for the ease and abundance of restaurants, other then that I haven't looked back. Sent from my SM-G925K using Tapatalk
  14. Thank you all for the warm welcoming. I knew I would be at home here. It really was a toss up between the VP9 and the PPQ (which I will eventually get) but a lot of reviews I read steered me to the VP9. I would not have been disappointed either way. Glad to be on board. Sent from my SM-G925K using Tapatalk
