  1. Got a call from local pd today.  I submitted my ptc 11/29/22.  Last week they said they didn't receive my fingerprints and I need to get them redone (I confirmed with identigo they were sent to state police the day I got them done) and today they told me I need to submit another reference and that I may have to pay the new fees to process my permit.   I already paid for everything when I submitted.    1st question is.  Wasn't there a 90 day period after I submitted my app where they had to provide the permit if I didn't agree to extend it?   The officer on the phone said due to the changes in December that the 90 days starts then.  Doesn't the fact that I submitted before the law change hold me to the old standard and start my 90 days when I submitted?  I told him I believed he was wrong and I'm coming here to hopefully get some info or be put in the right direction.   I've spoke w 3 people in my local pd and they all have given me conflicting answers.  I am going to the local pd to speak with the chief tuesday  Thank you for any help!

  2. I spoke to a local detective from another township and he told me that it wouldn't be my problem, I followed through with everything I needed to.  I told the clerk that and she told me if I want the permit I have to get the prints again.   Period.  She gave me some excuse saying I probably put the wrong ori number, which I didn't.  Or that a crime could have been committed in the last 90 days, which hasnt happend, and that I need to get them done again.  Funny thing is,  within the time I submitted my ptc application I submitted and was approved for a pistol permit.  It just doesn't make any sense.  Print date is 2 weeks from now, I asked her to confirm that after I get the prints done will there be anything else that is time sensitive that will expire and she told me no, they have everything finished and just need the prints.   Idk.  Just sharing my experience.   Submitted app 11/10/22.

  3. Submitted prints 11/10/22.   Followed up with local pd 2/14 of statis.   Got a call today from local pd saying that my prints were never received and it's past 90 days I will have to get them done again.  I provided the receipt to local pd.  Still not sufficient.  Is this a common issue?  Next print appointment is mid March.  They will not process my application until I get prints done again.

  4. If you read my initial comments I said I am new to AR 15s and maybe I'm lookin for too much for what my build/price intention was. I now know I can build a lower and have different uppers. If I want a 600 yard ss barrel I can buy one and set it aside for those times I want to shoot that distance. More than likely I will end up building a decent firearm that I can put a nice upper on it when I have more cash. At the same time I'm not in a race to finish this because I have plenty of firearms including one that will out shoot the range I belong to currently. I've never built a rifle before and am looking to you guys to give me the most genuine input to steer me in the right direction and to clarify if my intentions are pipe dreams or reality. Constructive input is appreciated because I'd rather learn here first than after I buy the parts... Where I am currently at in this project is building the lower. I am picking up an Anderson stripped lower tomorrow and using the trigger kit listed in the thread. Do you have any suggestions on what may help me in the current stage of my build? Also, if it costs me more than 600$ I'm ok with it it just will take me longer to fund the build. The reason I said 600$ was there are plenty of rifles out there to buy for around that price range and I figured I could stretch my $ if I built it myself and I will prevent having a box of useless parts if I bought a new one and upgraded it.

  5. That's unfortunate if that is the scernaio. The guy was motivated to try and make a change and his experiance ended up sour? I could understand exhausting your enthusiasm with the politicians and these reduliculious laws were up against but you would think that we all want the same in the end so we need to support each other to progress our initial motives for being here. No matter what I give the guy a lot of respect for following thru with his conviction to make a change for us in NJ. I'll have to check out that thread to see how it all worked out.

  6. Yea I'm very interested in this sort of thing. Also being on the verge of starting an AR 15 build I want to be sure I'm making the right choices and that I won't regret the decisions I made in the process. Besides I've learned that you guys are some of the best resources for good, genuine answers so as long as my gears are turning, you guys will be seeing a lot of my posts!
